  1. Shelton is a Paul Heyman guy? Weird flex but ok. Also interesting that they'd have a guy who had to take time off with back injuries take German suplexes.
  2. The way they keep mentioning Dean leaving, it makes me think he's already agreed to stay and they turned it into an angle. It just seems such the opposite of the way WWE normally handles someone leaving.
  3. I suppose they are hoping Roman can talk him into staying.
  4. People dogpiling on Alvarez for saying Kofi was cooled off after the handicap match was ridiculous. It was a stupidly booked match that sucked the life out of what was a fairly hot crowd, and he was left kind of looking like a goober afterwards. Then everyone started pointing at his tweet like he was waving his junk in public, and it just came off like a lot of other people in the Wrestling Twitter community saw blood in the water after all the Dave fuss and just wanted to pounce on the next thing Bryan was going to comment on. IMO that's something that I don't see mentioned as much, a lot of this drama surrounding Dave ends up being churned up by sites/writers in competition to him. I don't think that's an accident as anyone in the same line of work would kill to have the name/prestige/legacy he's built. That's not to say he shouldn't be called out when he messes up, but a lot of the people doing the calling out do so under less than honest pretenses at times.
  5. "ARE YOU ON TRT BECKY? IS THAT WHY YOU CALL YOURSELF THE MAN?"
  6. Their use, or more accurately the lack thereof, makes me think they only got offers from WWE to sweeten the pot for AJ to make the jump.
  7. He was correcting himself that Roman's first bout with it ended his football career when he played for one more year after. That's all. He wasn't trying to poke holes or "truther" anything. Dave doesn't give the morons ammunition, cut and paste sites and shitty podcasts that deliberately misrepresent him do. His insane need to correct any error he comes across is 99% of his problem on Twitter too.
  8. It's especially odd since he's been repeatedly stating this is different than WCW, despite "this is real, everything else was fake" being one of his big pet peeves of that era.
  9. Sometimes guys just don't fit with a company for whatever reason. I get the impression that Gallows and Anderson fell victim to someone finding out they were funny guys and booked them that way instead of as credible threats. Plus there was the visual of them facing smaller guys in New Japan that made them look more badass that was lost in WWE. They just had an aura of cool in NJPW while in WWE they just came off like....well.....nerds.
  10. They are definately playing off her natural heelish personality (which is the one good thing about it, she's WAY better being a heel than the Smiling Babyface she was before), and she clearly has input on the direction. None of that means people are being worked by pointing out she's coming off as a loony 2000 WCW character. Paul E did worked shoot stuff, but I don't recall there being any angles in ECW where Taz was calling everything fake except what he was doing. There's a difference between pushing someone as more of a threat due to a real fight background, and literally telling your audience the rest of your show is some fake shit and this is the only real thing. Hell, WWF did it back in the late 90s when Ken Shamrock was around and they pushed him as the Worlds Most Dangerous Man due to his UFC background. Not once did he cut promos saying this was all fake but he was going to shoot on everyone. The worst part is that this feud doesn't need any of this nonsense, but WWE just stubbornly refuses to go along with storylines that fall in their laps.
  11. I wouldn't say weak minded, just someone raised with a win at all costs mentality that was never properly equipped for losing. It just boggles my mind that by all accounts she's such a big wrestling fan yet her idea for a heel gimmick is to be a Vince Russo character. I don't agree that she's getting any kind of nuclear heat with hardcore fans, if anything she's getting go away heat from them. The prevailing opinion I've been seeing is "how can they make such a mess of such a sure thing", which I guess if that's the intended reaction, good on them. This is WWE not being satisfied with being handed a perfect angle by the fans (rejecting Becky's heel turn) and fate (Becky getting shoot bloodied and becoming Stone Cold), and just couldn't leave well enough alone. Nothing can be authentic or organic, it has to be something created in a lab by WWE.
  12. Does it though? It just makes her seem like a loon from an alternate universe where WCW won the war and Russo was still in charge. Then again she also thought Sandy Hook was fake, so *shrug*....
  13. The AWA was in bad shape by then. They officially closed in 1991 but I'm pretty sure they were dead in all but name only for at least 6 months to a year before that. Having to do a sold show where your wrestlers dress up like breakfast cereal mascots is right up there with finding your roommate passed out in the fish tank on the cry-for-help scale.
  14. Let's not forget he's been at this level of greatness after having a brain tumor removed like 23+ years ago.
  15. You're in luck, Meltz said that was the match it looks like they are planning for Cena.
  16. After Monday's beating I was expecting WWE to have her go full YET-AAAYYY with her.
  17. Normally I would agree but Ronda seems like the type of person who would try to do submission moves in a bar fight.
  18. So Becky comes out the day after taking a beating from Ronda, including being locked in multiple arm bars, barely any worse for wear than normal. They even had Ronda put her in a legit looking arm bar and not that weird one she's been using, and she wasn't even sporting an ace bandage for the trouble.
  19. Actually since they have Women's Tag Titles again I'm surprised they didn't track down the Jumping Bomb Angels and put them in.
  20. Ironically she sounded a lot like Roddy Piper doing one of his famous.....uh....enhanced promos from the 80s.
  21. The honest truth is they want a woman in every HOF class (standalone so Chyna in DX wouldn't count in this case) and Vince probably was reminded Torrie exists by her coming back for all the women first stuff. Plus her having a NY connection due to dating A-Rod. It will always boggle the mind that anyone gets BIG MAD about anything WWE HOF related.
  22. Hunter's promo was really good. Could have gone without the reference to Reid's death, but the part where he got (probably legit) choked up over being afraid to answer his phone when Ric was deathly ill last year was compelling stuff. To be fair, Ronda's promo was really good too but she looked like she pounded 15 Red Bulls prior to going out there.
  23. WWE thinks blurring the lines is the best way to enage the hardcore fans.
  24. Philly was the perfect place for a Ronda heel turn.
  25. Colin Jost getting Stossel'd by Braun made me chuckle.
