  1. Said it's the fans fault women's wrestling was marginalized because people would chant "boring", "we want puppies", or start the wave during their matches. Which is of course 100% something the fans did spontaneously on their own and not at all because that's how the company presented them at the time. Clearly the fans should have been more appricative of the 30 second classics the company was generously sharing with them.
  2. Paige stating it was the fans rather than the company that kept women wrestling from being taken seriously is some next level corporate shilling/historical revisioning.
  3. She's been vocal on social media about everyone hating her and generally being unlikable (and not in a "I'm being my character" wrestling way) to the point it colors everything she does now. It seems pretty clear that she ends up rubbing nearly everyone she interacts with the wrong way. Also WWE is announcing DX will be the first entry in the HOF this year as a whole group (HHH, HBK, Chyna, X Pac, Road Dogg, and Billy Gunn). I suppose Hunter and Steph don't worry about their kids googling Chyna anymore.
  4. This Mark Henry doc airing now is fantastic. Pretty sure he legit is the strongest person who ever lived.
  5. Isn't Luke Harper ready to go?
  6. Well that was odd.
  7. Seems like so long ago Vince took Braun out of the match against Brock since he didn't want him to lose another match. Now he's getting beat by the Geek Shield.
  8. To be fair, Jimmy didn't get a DUI, he was arrested for squaring up with a cop. He was probably drunk, but Naomi was driving.
  9. Looks like she got inspired by Mark Henry and decided someone was gonna get they wig split.
  10. I expect people to be upset if/when Bayley and Sasha don't win despite the obvious endgame is them winning at Mania to have their offical WWE Moment.
  11. Apparently Eddie Edwards signed a "long term deal" which is both a "why would you do that?" moment for Eddie and a Joe Swanson-eqsue "how do you afford these things?" moment for Impact.
  12. Welp. It seemed like he was just lashing out during that whole escapade, I guess it's pretty clear why.
  13. It would be about the wrestling war in Knoxville discussed here . Doesn't make sense that they would create an atomic bomb like this, but they actually ended up winning (sorta) so I suppose that explains why it never saw the light of day.
  14. One day US wrestling will reach the point AAA is at where men, women, minis, and exoticos all fight each other and it's nbd. (I'm half sarcastic, half not at the same time. It's always amazed me how the stereotypical macho Mexican culture has way less of an issue with this than anywhere else)
  15. The idea that Vince doesn't give a shit that one of his most iconic creations is attending a convention set up by a hot new competitor kind of flies in the face of everything we've ever known about him. Surely this is a big payday, but I doubt AEW is dropping seven figures for a convention apperance. I'm sure Vince would be more than capable of matching whatever he's getting paid for this to not have the image of a legend showing up for the competition.
  16. It's weird that he even has social media, given how protective he is about the gimmick. You would think WWE wouldn't want him to appear at anyone else's events, especially ones for potentially the biggest competition they've had in decades. I suppose they're confident that Taker's not going to show up on the first episode of AEW Nitro (or whatever they end up calling their TV), but surely Vince can't be happy about this.

    NXT talk

I guess techinically they do, but then you see in cases like Bayley where they clearly don't understand why the original gimmick worked so well in the first place. They took EC3, who's gimmick is he's the rich snob who tells you he's better than everyone, and make him basically a mute who is doing a discount Narcissist gimmick backstage.

They also need to learn the difference between "small room" gimmicks and "large room" ones. They're really good at coming up with ideas to get folks over at Full Sail that turn into career sinking anchors when they get called up and have to bring their gimmick to a large arena. Some of that is because of different creative teams for sure, I can just imagine Vince and/or the writing staff looking at things created in NXT as minor league or the old "we didn't come up with it therefore it sucks" mentality. It reminds me of when Jim Cornette was booking OVW and he would talk about his goal was to book guys like how WWE books people rather than how he would ideally, because going to WWE was the main goal so his job was to prepare them for how they do things. That's something NXT seems to fail at, which is kind of amazing considering it's in house and should be better at this shit by now. They want NXT to be a third brand but also their main feeder league, and they can't have it both ways. A feeder league by definition can't be a third brand, and a third brand with a unique style will inherently fail as a feeder league since it's not properly preparing people for how the main roster works.
  19. I've been working on a theory that by re signing with WWE when he had options proved to the company (Vince) he's enough of a team player to trust loosening up the reigns on him a bit.
  20. I think there was a little of column A, column B going on with Ibushi. He was always going to be featured just because of how good he was, but there was definately going to be a ceiling on how far he could go without being signed to a deal. He could do dream match tags with Kenny, but I just don't think they would have ever put a major title on him without signing first.
  21. Kelly Klein, who they were building around, is married to BJ Whitmer who left to be a producer with AEW. She's probably going to join him since she recently dropped the title to continue their ongoing joshi fetish that seemed to consume their women division. (uh, spoiler I guess)
  22. Dave actually mentioned this in today's WO show as the reason Brock keeps getting money to stay, Vince doesn't want to be seen as losing top stars.
  23. I always kind of suspected that Rusev never gets pushed because Lana seems to rub a lot of people the wrong way. Lana herself kind of confirmed that by her reaction to being removed from Total Divas on Lilian Garcia's podcast where she went on a rant about how no one likes her.
  24. When I started watching in the mid 80s he was still around as a JTTS type guy, and when I first got online in the early 90s I was floored to find out this guy was a huge draw. Like I knew he was a former WW(W)F champ since Gorilla would mention it, but in my young brain I thought it must have been a short transition run. It's amazing how someone who was so big for an extended period of time more or less got completely forgotten so fast.
  25. I don't believe so, but he was very Bruno-eqsue in not liking the modering presentation of wrestling. His issue was more the reliance on gimmicks rather than Bruno's issues with drugs, but he was apparently pretty vocal about not following modern stuff. It's the reason he more or less fell off the face of the earth after the 90s.
