  1. Johnny Ace is trying to get Trish to re-sign with WWE, and I wouldn't be surprised if it was because she mentioned her desire to embark on an acting career. I think Vince would go (more) insane if two women left his employ to become bigger stars. He wants to control the career of anyone who's ever worked for him, so he can take the credit if any of them happen to become a major star. Dancing With The Stars isn't going to make someone an A-List celebrity, but it's a step up on the respect chain than being seen as a bimbo on a fake wrestling show. The people on Dancing probably thought that someone with Stacy's talent and ability was wasting it on rasslin' fans. Of course they're too good to watch wrestling or they'd realize that her dance and cheerleading past had been mentioned several times on WCW and WWE programming.
  2. This might be the best description of ECW I've ever read.
  3. Watching the Brian Pillman RAW, and during the ten bell salute the camera focused on Owen Hart, Rick Rude, and Hawk. Oof. *edit* ....and then Vince mentions in the next segment that they're in the Kemper Arena in Kansas City. Double Oof.
  4. Just watched ECW on Sci-Fi, and I don't get what everyone's bitching about. It seemed like Perfectly Acceptable Wrestling, I don't see what gets everyone so up in arms other than it not living up to the romanticed memories of a group that really wasn't as good as everyone seems to think it was. I loved Heyman giving Dreamer the Kiss of Death, but I'm sure the WWE writing team will end up spinning this into a "Heyman is gay" angle.
  5. I don't think DX is going to last much longer than the summer to be honest. After they evenutally blow off this McMahon nonsense there's literally nothing else for them to do.
  6. So I guess the Highlanders are winning the tag belts then. I'd expect Johnny Jeter, Ken Doane, and Nick Nemeth to stick around and become solid mid card guys if not main eventers at some point. The other two might as well get the resume polished as WWE will be wishing them luck in their endeavors any day now.
  7. If they start portraying them as heels who Cheat To Win despite getting splattered by their opponents, that could get them Honky Tonk Man heat. I'm really digging the Highlanders, so hopefully the feud between them and the Spirit Squad will help elevate both teams.
  8. So, after the ECW match with Big Show, is Ric Flair offically the new Terry Funk now with the "classic wrestler becomes a crazy old man who bleeds a lot?". He's an exploding deathmatch away from stealing Terry's gimmick it seems.
  9. Among others. I believe he came back too soon from one concussion and ended up with another.
  10. His in ring career is all but over due to post concussion syndrome, he still does their Smackdown Your Vote stuff around election time.
  11. I know he trained a lot of people, but was this some sort of deal where his service to the business was rewarded with that run? Cause I have no idea otherwise why they'd not only put Hiro on TV but have him manage the Horsemen. One of the saddest things I've ever experienced in wrestling was realizing that the guy set to debut in the WWF was a complete shell of the guy who up to that point was my favorite wrestler ever. It's easy when you live the gimmick. No one's played the role as well as her because no one's been as skanky as her, unless Courtney Love suddenly decides to change careers I don't think anyone ever will outskank her. Did Eddie piss someone off? Cause it seemed that he fell off the face of the earth (or at least out of WCW) not to long after that. I think that feud's been overshadowed because it was used to turn Teddy Long from a ref to a manager.
  12. Seth Skyfire is the Tommy Dreamer of OVW. He got the belt because there was no one else after Jeter, Albright, Punk, Doane, and Nemeth all got called up.
  13. I know at one point, the WCW braintrust didn't like the fact that Muta was upstaging the good ol' American wrasslers and they pretty much jobbed out anyone Japanese. Didn't they tell him and Chono to half-ass a match in 1991 as so not to upstage anyone?
  14. I'm always partial to how Vince told Dr. D to teach John Stossel a lesson and then hung him out to dry when he did just that. All the stuff about Vince being molested by his mom makes the times he's been caught oogling Steph's cans on TV about a million times more creepy.
  15. From his Wiki entry: Doesn't specifically say sexual abuse, but Young Master Vince didn't have a pampered childhood. It does shed a lot of light on how he got his views on women, not to mention he's probably got the world's worst mommy complex ever.
  16. Saw ths at DVDVR and found it to be hilarious. To answer the top three questions you're probably asking yourself: 1. Ken Doane is Kenny from the Spirit Squad 2. Doane and Mickey James are a real couple, I think they're even engaged. 3. Yes, this guy with the hurt shoulder is the biggest pussy and/or douchebag ever.
  17. Reading Jake Tales like that make me remember how pissed he was when Beyond The Mat came out (and they reference it on his WWE DVD) as if they edited the footage to make him look like a horrible person/addict.
  18. Sort of. Kennedy (or Ken Anderson) was one of Heyman's pet projects in OVW, as he was pushed pretty strong down there. I believe Paul even suggested the name change to Kennedy as a way of get him over with Vince, but I could be wrong on that. At any rate, most of the reports have the backstage opinon of Kennedy completely turning to the point that the feeling is "the ship has sailed" regarding any future pushes. It's been suggested that Johnny Ace in particular was eager to squash any plans for him just because of his personal feelings toward Heyman.
  19. Kennedy's push is all but over now since Heyman was his big backer and he's concentrating on ECW. I have a feeling the people who don't like Paul are going to take it out on Mr. Kennedy................... Kennedy.
  20. So does anyone know who's booking in OVW? Heyman seems to be devoting his time to ECW now, so who's got the book in Louisville? Speaking of OVW, Jim Cornette's the smartest man in wrestling. By maintaining his ownership stake in OVW he's getting paid by both WWE (which covers OVW's expenses) and TNA at the same time.
  21. Does it bother anyone else that Meltz reported about this woman's assault as if it was a spot in a wrestling match? She didn't "take a bump" she got knocked on concrete by some drunken jackass.
  22. The fans closest to the ring probably got picked up due to the cameramen, ring mics, and Tazz and Joey's headsets. The usual crowd mics you'd see on a typical TV wrestling show were muted/turned off.
  23. The ECW crowds are heavily muted since Universal is afraid they'll start chanting cusswords. I would imagine from the crap being thrown in the ring that the live crowd wasn't quite as apathetic.
  24. Holy crap, the wellness program doesn't seem to apply to ECW, as Test looks ridiculously jacked to the gills. He even got the crowd to chant "you use steroids" at him during his match with Al Snow (nice to see they got Al off OVW TV duty to job).
  25. What I find odd is the last time two WWF/E guys were caught doing a Cheech and Chong impression it led to pretty much the end of the Iron Shiek's career but the start of Jim Duggan's long mid card run.
