I had already taken the weekend off for Mania ahead of time, but I came down with the flu a couple days ago so perhaps it will be even more entertaining with a fever brain.

It's kind of amazing how Jericho went from the most vital part of AEW at the start (having a guy WB execs knew from being on WWE TV was a big part of what convinced them AEW was legit enough to have on their networks) to being an absolute albatross in ring and (apparently) behind the scenes.

Matt Jackson tore a bicep, so it looks like even if Punk does come back, that program won't happen right away anyway. I agree though, all six of them seem like smart enough business guys to see the value in sucking it up and doing it even if you don't completely love the guy. Also I wonder if Dax would slide it in his demands to re-sign with AEW that Punk gets brought back. I could see him being the type to use his leverage to step up to the plate for his hero.

Yeah I noticed that, and it also seems clear Punk noticed that too. To the point where even if somehow the beef was squashed between him and the EVPs, I would expect that would very much be not the case with Jericho.

Also it's starting to become clear that despite his potential as a draw, everyone seems generally tired of Punk's bullshit at this point.

I don't think there was much risk in belting up Mox without a contract.He's made it clear he never wants to go back to WWE so the worst that could happen is he shows up on some indy shows or a New Japan show, which wouldn't be the worst thing.

It's probably not a coincidence that the promo ability of people from NXT noticeably fell off a cliff when Dusty wasn't there anymore. It's crazy they don't just make part of training at the PC having them study promos from all the footage they own. Or give one of the legends they work with stop by and give a class or two. You'd know Foley would be down, he'd do anything for a gig. Come to think of it, it's actually amazing anyone in NXT can do a promo at all considering the main people in charge now are Hunter, King of the Boring Ass 20 Minute Promo and Shawn "was really great at a lot of things but talking wasn't one of them" Michaels.
