This Mania build is so weird, in storyline Seth wants the US title so bad he'd go through the Elimination Chamber but now he's going to forget all that to chase after Logan Paul. Now John Cena gets to walk in after not being around for two years (save a cameo at the end of the year) and gets a title match at Mania.

It's not an exact parallel because nobody died, but Dave mentioned last night was like if Kerry lost the big match at Texas Stadium after all the hype. It was going to fizzle out either way since Kerry wasn't going to be a viable long term champion for numerous reasons, but he absolutely had to win that night, just like it felt Sami had to win last night.

Funny to see WCCW held up as an example of wrestling being better before it was all about childhood dreams, when the main focus was the Von Erich boys chasing the title their dad never was able to win.

I will say it was funny hearing Paul Heyman on the receiving end of a "you fucked up" chant. Time truly is a flat circle.

I suppose it will all work out in the end, but way to once again train your fans that the hero babyface will always lose in the end, so why bother getting behind anybody. Then wonder why they struggle so bad with making new stars. Plus they didn't even give us the Sami/KO reunion at the end. Just seems like a huge missed opportunity all around. Crafting this masterpiece of a storyline only for the ultimate payoff being Cody winning the belts just seems like a waste of everyone's time in the end.

Also it's going to be fun trying to avoid the spoiler minefield since I won't be able to watch until I get home from work.

At this point, fuck it give Sami the belts. WWE loves "making moments" and that would be an all timer. I know they have their plans and whatnot but this is reminding me of when Baba decided the day of the show Misawa was going over after hearing the crowd going nuts for him. It would be a great way to show to the talent that this isn't Vince booking so we don't have to beat the white hot babyface in his hometown anymore. Not that I expect it to happen, but a guy can dream.

Sami just pouring every fiber of his soul into that promo, WWE better have riot police on hand if they are having him lose tomorrow, goddamn.

Funny how the actual chamber matches on paper look like the weakest ones on the card. The mixed tag is gonna rule just for the Beth/Rhea parts, Brock and Bob are gonna probably have another fun BIG MEATY MEN SLAPPING MEAT match, and of course Sami. I suppose the women's chamber match actually has some intrigue too since it seems Asuka might finally snap and murder everyone.

The punchline here for those who didn't click through to read the replies is that Drew Barrymore would have been around 16 in 1991. Hopefully ol' Todd here was too.

I'm glad Saraya was able to resume her career and I hope she's having fun, but she seems to be like 25% the wrestler she was before.

I think some people with not enough to do with their free time are listening to Dave making multiple comment about Tony "needing to make a decision" about Punk in the sense it wasn't the done deal everyone seemed to think that he was gone, and assuming that means the Elite is gonna bolt. As mentioned before, I don't see Kenny ever wanting to go to WWE. I suppose he would get more creative freedom under Hunter than Vince, but I get the impression anything short of "do whatever you want" will make him happy. On the other hand, I could easily see the Bucks doing a "get a stupidly big WWE deal before you call it a career" at some point.

I keep seeing people say the crowds are "clamoring" for Sami and KO to reunite, and while I'm not saying it's not going to get a huge pop, it seems what the crowds are really clamoring for is the beloved babyface to slay the unbeatable monster who's treated him like shit. The whole idea of "well Sami and KO reuniting is going to get over so it doesn't matter if we waste this super over babyface" seems odd to me. Plus in kayfabe it really makes no sense for Sami to want to reunite since KO's been a dick who's turned on him . Him teaming back up with KO is almost a 90s Sting stupid trusting babyface move.

Roxxane's stupid arm floofies always come off mid match and seem like they would be annoying to work with.
