  1. Another shake up, this time here in Memphis, classic Memphis tactic when things weren't working. I like the idea of expanding towns, but to cut Nashville, Jackson, Louisville and Evansville off your weekly loop is a bold statement, Memphis is growing. Your first post actually suited my phone better than the second...
  2. This is great...
  3. AWA Southeastern Heavyweight Champion:- The Flame AWA Southeastern Tag Team Champions:- The Heavenly Bodies (Bobby Eaton & Tom Pritchard) AWA Southeastern Television Champion:- Jimmy Golden AWA National Champion:- Robert Fuller

  5. PROUD MEMBER OF THE AMERICAN WRESTLING ASSOCIATION SOUTHEASTERN CHAMPIONSHIP WRESTLING TV Saturday 17th December 1983 Taped in front of a live studio audience at the WTBS Television Studio in Atlanta, GA Hosted by Charlie Platt and Gordon Solie This week’s show opens up with clips from this past Monday’s Non Sanctioned Fight between “Wildfire” Tommy Rich and Buzz Sawyer. The fight ended when “Wildfire” piledrove Buzz Sawyer on top of a Soda Venting Machine at the back of the arena. “Wildfire” Tommy Rich comes out and joins Gordon Solie and Charlie Platt. Tommy Rich says this has been a long year, in he has finally put to bed the issues with Buzz Sawyer after nearly 2 years and his 6 month long issue with Robert Fuller will end on Christmas day when he takes the National Heavyweight Title. This Monday he teams with his cousin Johnny Rich against the Studd Stable. The Studd Stable come out lend by Ron Fuller, with the National Heavyweight Champion Robert Fuller, Television Champion Jimmy Golden and The Assassins. Ron Fuller informs Tommy that his “quest” still has some road blocks, because tonight he and his cousin will face off with The Assassins in the main event and in his last appearance as a full time wrestler on television, Ron Fuller will be putting the trunks one last time in the WTVY Studio to weaken Tommy Rich before his title match with Robert the next night. The Studd Stable go to walk off as Tommy grabs Robert by the shoulder, “haven’t you forgotten something?” he asks the champion, as he passes the contract that never got signed two weeks ago. Robert snatches the contract and signs it and throws it back to Rich. Robert tells Rich that although the contracted is signed, he’s got a few hurdles still to jump. === Advert === Brad Armstrong and Tim Horner open today’s action after falling short of winning the Southeastern Tag Team Titles this past Monday, this week they face off with Tony Falk and Bill Howard. Horner and Armstrong make light work of Howard and Falk and get the win after 4 minutes following Armstrong pinning Howard after a Russian Leg Sweep. Following the match Armstrong and Horner join Solie and Platt, they tell the fans, that they won’t be giving up on their dream of becoming the Tag Team champions. They also know if they want to be Tag Team Champions they need a name, so from now on they will be collectively known as The Lightening Express. The Nightmares Danny Davis and Ken Wayne come to the announcers table and laugh off the new name for Armstrong and Horner, they also say if it’s a dream for them to become Tag Team Champions, then Davis and Wayne are their Nightmares, and this Monday night the Lightening Express will be waking up with a bump. === Commercial for Superclash Live on WTBS Christmas Night=== We return from the break and we are show a video of a new tag team joining the ranks of Southeastern, the music for the video is ZZ Tops “Sharp Dress Man” plays and we see a clip of two blonde men strutting about Hollywood, we are lead to believe this is The Fabulous Ones who have been signed for Superclash for a Southeastern Tag Team Title match. But there’s something not quite right about this video, this doesn’t look like Stan Lane and Steve Keirn. Just at the end of the video we finally get a shot of the two men’s faces and as suspected it wasn’t the Fabulous Ones but actually a team by the name of the Hollywood Blondes, Ken Timbs and Eric Embry. Timbs and Embry say they are coming for glory in Southeastern Championship Wrestling. === Run down of this week’s action coming to Alabama and Georgia === Following the break we have “Bullet” Bob Armstrong with Scott Armstrong come to the announcers desk and talks through his lost this past week in Birmingham and he says that he has spoken with Stanley Blackburn and he will have one more rematch to try and regain his Southeastern Heavyweight Title, and it will come at Superclash and he promises he has a surprise for The Flame something that will combat any sort mask loading. “Bullet” makes his way to the ring for his match against Jerry Bryant. “Bullet” defeats Bryant in a pretty straight forward match, Bryant jumps Armstrong at the bell, but it didn’t take long for Bob to turn the tables and take control of the match and scores the pinful at 5 minutes following a Jaw Breaker. === Advert === Next up we see Danny Davis and Ken Wayne, The Nightmares face off with Josh Stroud and Gene Ligon. The Nightmares who got to the semi-finals of the Unified Tag Team Titles Tournament, but came up short to the team they challenged earlier The Lightening Express, The Nightmare have been putting together a string of decent performances as of late are in full control here against Stroud and Ligon. The Nightmares who are the masters of the double team, finish off their opponents in 6 minutes following a combination Piledriver Middle Rope Leg Drop and the pinful for the victory. === Run down of this week’s action coming to Alabama and Georgia === In preparation for their big tag team match this coming Monday, The Studd Stable of National Heavyweight Champion Robert Fuller and Television Champion Jimmy Golden along with Ron Fuller face of with former Television Champion Charlie Cook and former Tag Team Champion Ricky Gibson. Gibson and Cook make a great showing and control spells of the match, after 8 minutes of action Ron Fuller gets involved and trips Gibson who was running the ropes and he stumbles into low boot from Robert Fuller and a Piledriver followed by the pin for the victory for his team. The Studd Stable now move onto Tommy Rich and Johnny Rich this Monday evening in Birmingham. === Advert === The new Southeastern Unified Tag Team Champions Bobby Eaton and Tom Pritchard, The Heavenly Bodies along with manager Jim Cornette and his Insurance Policy Big Bubba Lynch come out and join Gordon Solie and Charlie Platt. Cornette says that his team are the now without a doubt the best team in the AWA and they proved it again this past week, and they know that the Fabulous Ones are next in line but they have proved once before that they are better than The Fabs and on Christmas Night they are going to prove it. The Heavenly Bodies make their way into the ring as they have a tag match with the returning Larry Hamilton and Marty Jannetty. Hamilton and Jannetty put a valiant fight but the champs are just too much for them and Pritchard gets the pinful victory after a Top Rope Elbow Drop in 6 minutes. === Commercial for Superclash Live on WTBS Christmas Night=== Today’s main event see’s the Rich Cousins “Wildfire” Tommy and Johnny face off with the The Studd Stables Assassins, who are joined by Ron Fuller. Just as the bell goes The Assassins attack the Rich’s before they could decide who would be starting the match, we now have al 4 men brawling in the ring. The match calms itself down after about 2 minutes, we go for another 2-3 minutes before the rest of the Studd Stable to storm the ring and attack the Rich’s. it’s a 2-on-4 brawl before “Bullet” Bob and The Lightening Express come to the aid of he Rich’s as we go of the air. === Show Ends === Quick Results 1. 8. Im hoping what came over in the brief outlines to my shows, was Tommy Rich finally overcoming Buzz Sawyer as the last piece in his quest for the National Heavyweight Title match which included the Freebirds and the Studd Stable.
  9. 10th December 1983 - Television "Wildfire" Tommy Rich calls out Buzz Sawyer for walking out on him last week in Birmingham. He knows due to him losing to Buzz Sawyer earlier on in the year he cant face him again in another official match, but he's challenging him to a non sanction come as you are street fight, Buzz comes out and faces up to Rich and says he's done with Rich, he's done with the Studd Stable and he's done with Southeastern, but he'll be there monday for a fight. Former Southeastern Heavyweight Champion "Bullet" Bob comes out and says the referee may not of seen The Flame load up his mask, but he certainly did see, and this Monday in Birmingham he will get his title back. The Flame comes out with his new title and says he doesn't know why Armstrong thinks that, but he prove to "Bullet" that it was more that he has a hard head and not that he loaded his mask. We get a VTR from Japan where Ron Fuller is currently touring, he announces his retirement from in ring competition and says he last match will be on Christmas Day at Superclash. The Studd Stable, Robert Fuller, Jimmy Golden and the Assassins come to the interview area and pay homage to their leader. Buzz Sawyer comes to the ring and challenges The Assassins to a match later tonight, Robert Fuller comes out with Ron Fuller and says the Assassins are the newest members the Studd Stable, there are their own personal hitmen. Before the contract could be signed, Buzz Sawyer storms the ring with a 2x4 attacking everyone in sight and laying everyone out. This Monday Rich and Sawyer will be forced to team together against the Studd Stable. 5th December 1983 – Birmingham, Alabama Brad Armstrong and Tim Horner overcome The Nightmares in a near 45 minute match. This was a fast paced all action match . The Flame defeats “Bullet” Bob Armstrong for the Southeastern Heavyweight Title when he used a loaded mask to knock out “Bullet”.
