  1. You're possibly thinking of their title win over Regal & Garvin that was, for years, thought to be a phantom change. It was listed as being something like 57 minutes long or something. But a few years ago proof of the card and change were turned up (don't ask me what the proof was - KHawk would remember).
  2. If you're bringing in somebody, Kerry Von Erich if he was able. Or Flexy Lexy, even as young as he was. Or Nikita.
  3. Misawa vs Doc, 4/2/97 from the Champions Carnival.
  4. There's a UWF NO-DQ match with... Murdoch, I think... where Gilbert gets in the way constantly. He enforces the rules too tightly for a normal match let alone a NO-DQ.
  5. Kyohei Wada. He once grabbed a guy and dragged him on top of his opponent for a pinfall. Lost all respect for him after that.
  6. Not gonna vote here, just had to mention the hilarious treatment of Dick Kroll when Chief Jay is getting his leg broken. He's "injured" and Larry Z just DRAGS him and then he gets dumped down the stairs. Ouch!
  7. One Man Gang. When I was a kid, I saw him as a fat guy who didn't do much and was really slow. I watched a ton of Mid-South and UWF the last couple years and OMG jumped out at me. He's really, really good. Fits his role to a T and is way better in the ring than I ever gave him credit for.
  8. I'm gonna go with Clash 6. My answer might change tomorrow as I don't know that I have a clear #1, more like 5 that share the top spot.
  9. I'm only going to do 2 decades: 80s: Flair vs Steamboat, 4/2/89 Runner-up: Slaughter vs Sheik, 6/16/84 90s: Williams vs Kobashi, 8/31/93 Runner-up: 6/9/95 tag
  10. I'm not sure but it would be a ton. I can think of think 3 with Ronnie Garvin alone, including one impromptu match on Pro. 2 in Houston with Wahoo. A couple with Terry Taylor. God knows how many with Ricky. The 1hr draw with Morton. And on and on and on.
  11. I'm gonna say 90s. Shoot-style was at its peak and All Japan. Nuff said.
  12. I had seen the clipped version a few times before the full version was shown on Classics. After seeing the match, and the Devil/Chigusa match from the same night, I came away concluding that Devil/Chigusa was a much better match. Both are great, one just more so.
  13. Thank you!
  14. What was the date on the Lou Thesz vs Bill Longson match? How about Duke Keomuka vs Ricki Starr? (Thanks for continuing to give us this information!)

Which matches did you think were missing?
  16. You're right - when something is terrible, I should stick around for more. I watched more just now to find the exact spot again - still terrible.

  18. The one I was referring to starts right around 4:50.
  19. I watched 30 seconds in the middle of this match and gave up. Unbelievably terrible. Matches worked slower than a training demonstration? I'll pass.
  20. For the WWF, the Philadelphia Spectrum would be a bigger show than the Boston Garden. For GCW, the big shows were their cards at the Omni in Atlanta.
  21. Not gonna lie - throwaway studio squashes are not exactly the reason I signed up for the service...
  22. I recently finished Mark Fleming's book "It's Wrestling, Not Rasslin'". Very good book. Nice picture of early 80s JCP through the eyes of a job guy. He also talks about his career in South Atlantic and gives us the most-complete look inside UWFI yet seen. And, of course, lots of stuff on his friend and mentor, Lou Thesz. It's not the best book you'll ever read but it's good and I enjoyed every page.
  23. Baba talked to Takada about coming in. Unsure if before or after UWFI died. Takada wanted too much money.
  24. I like 1993. That gets you: - a still-strong WCW - UWFI blazing hot, running a stadium - RINGS - good new Japan - FMW at their peak, running a stadium - AJW and the Dreamslams - SMW And, oh yeah, arguably the best in-ring year ever with All Japan. Who cares if the WWF sucked?
  25. Lost a lot of respect for Foley when he did that. Just disgusting. Side note: Lost a lot of respect for The Rock, too - for not seeing that Foley was in trouble and basically begging Rock to hit him in the back with the last chairshot and refusing to do it, then blasting him in the head. That whole thing was just gross.
