Finally got around to watching the Lawler/Race hour long draw. Holy shit was that good and a hell of a way to work a head lock. I loved the simplicity of it and how each one of Harleys bumps were well placed and the severity of each fit the pace of the match perfectly. That match felt like two heavyweight prize fighters slugging the hell out of each other.

Another great show. I like the chemistry between you three and its nice to see Dylan keep his Tony Schiavone gimmick alive lol. Everything is " the best of all time and its not even close". In all seriousness im loving this idea and the possibilites you guys have in future shows

I thought i heard him mention it would be sometime in August on one of his shows? I could be off though
-
Sometimes i wish his interviews would end like the one with Mankind in 97.

Off the top of my head the high years would be 04-07 and the lowest of lows was 2010 and the last few years. A high match was the Storm/Harris street fight. Such a great brawl. A low was Homicide taking what felt like 20 mins to climb out of that damn cage on the Impact head to head with Raw

I always preferred Malenkos tv matches to his ppv ones. For some reason he looked a lot better in a six to eight minute sprint than a 15-20 min showcase. I guess lack or crowd connection and charisma gets more exposed in a longer ppv setting -
The roster show idea is a very good concept. Loved the first show and can't wait to hear the next. It really provides a snapshot of each promotion in 81

I used to love Malenko and still like him quite a bit but I realized he was just my gateway drug to good technical wrestling. I loved his stuff with Rey and Jericho and even the tag stuff in 99. The more I watched him it became clear that he was more of a great dance partner than a great dancer. -
Ahh Cornette's next podcast should be a good one

Comments that don't warrant a thread - Part 3

Bradshaw in is first incarnation was a Hansen rip off and you had guys like the Berzerker doing the whole Brody gimmick complete with the huss chant. -
Some things commonly said that I'm not a huge fan of are the word promotion instead of WWE,AWA, etc. Id rather here someone say he had a good run in AWA then say he had a sustained push in the promotion. And its not the fact that one sounds smarter than the other I just don't like when a fan almost tries to sound too insider. I guess I'm a little more laid back in that sense. Another term I hate in certain contexts is mark. When someone says they're a Dibiase mark, or a Flair mark that's fine. When its used as a derogatory term to put down a fan is when I hate it. It comes off as being prickish. A lot of it for me is being in the Tampa area and I used to hear Bubba the Lovesponge use all the insider terms he could just because he and Hogan were fuck buddies. He would always call people marks and act as if he was a legitimate part of wrestling. Hearing him get ragged on for Kong beating his ass was good though

Good Will Wrestling: Fixing the WWE Part One
jpchicago23 replied to soup23's topic in Publications and Podcasts
If WWE creative put even half the effort into an actual simple storyline such as the one you've created, the product would be hitting on all cylinders. Everyone in your proposed idea comes out fresh and better for it. The wins mean something and get this, the losses actually mean something. It would kick start fresh main event players and contenders and as evident by Swagger getting massive face pops against Rusev it would make Ryback a star. A star that he actually already should be but isn't portrayed as such. I could definitely see a air brushed American flag singlet in Ryback's future, love it!- 53 replies

The episode with shamrock was pretty powerful. It hit home with me since my dad pretty much grew up that way as a foster kid and in and out of gangs/jail. Austin is so good at keeping the flow going too.

That worked Brad, appreciate it.

It could be something I did on my end, I have no clue. I can manually download them from p2b so its all good. I'm not sure if the old episodes are there though
-
Quick question. Is there a problem with downloading old episodes from itunes or the subscribing process? I tried downloading a few older episodes and it wouldn't work so I unsubscribed then tried to resubscribe and nothing is downloading. So now wrestling culture isn't saved on my itunes. Just thought I'd put it out there
