  1. I guess this means they've discovered a cure for COVID, what with Roman not wanting to endanger his family and all.
  2. Yeah, like I said in the other thread, this is most likely a way to write Sonya out for the time being so she can take some much-needed time off.
  3. Just think about how much better this would have been if Brodie Lee had delivered his post-match promo with a Southern accent.
  4. I might be giving Cornette too much of the benefit of the doubt, but his comments came across to me as more "in my day, this is what would have happened." When Last pointed out that it would be absurd to punish them because WWE has no policies against hanging out off the clock even if you're in the middle of a storyline feud, he more or less conceded the point. And he's not the type to back down when he feels adamant about something.
  5. A former punter who trained with Rip Rogers being a more polished worker right out the gate than most wrestlers who've been at the Performance Center for years is yet more evidence that the PC is the worst wrestling school in history. I mean, even the Power Plant turned out Goldberg. You can chalk it up somewhat to McAfee's natural athletic ability, but there's no shortage of athleticism at the PC with all the NFL combine bullshit they make trainees do.
  6. After being on the fence for a while, I decided to submit a ballot for this year's GME project. There's a good chance I'll be the only vote for at least half of these matches, but hopefully it'll help some people discover something new. I used my rankings from my rewatching project as my starting point. I then reviewed the matches whose rankings struck me as incongruously high or low and adjusted accordingly. There are some takes in the rewatching thread that I wouldn't necessarily stand by now, so I created a separate thread to avoid confusing the issue. Plus, everybody else seems to be creating threads for their ballots, so here I am.
  7. Mandy/Sonya has been changed from a hair match to a no-DQ loser leaves WWE match, which pretty well gives away the outcome. I guess they figured forcing Sonya to shave her head after everything that's happened to her recently would be poor form. Plus, she likely needs some time off.
  8. Vince is going to put Retribution in their place and show all the entitled millennials on the roster how to grab the brass ring.
  9. There have been guys like Chris Benoit and Daniel Bryan who could come across as credible asskickers despite being on the shorter side. Adam Cole is not one of them. The fact that Cole has already been KTFO by the dudebro makes it even worse.
  10. Not to mention too good for a company that infected her with COVID and never called her to see how she was doing.
  11. If they go with no finishers, there'll almost certainly be a fuck finish where Desperado hits the Pinche Loco after a ref bump.
  12. "WWE is on fire obviously"
  13. You know things are dire when people would rather discuss soccer than WWE in a WWE thread.
  14. I'm hyped for the impeding debuts of Master G and Blaster Corbin.
  15. I really liked Modesto Aledo vs. Teddy Boy.
  16. I actually think the lumberjack strap match is the less appealing option due to Okada being a terrible brawler. A handicap match at least leaves the possibility of some mildly amusing Southern heel shtick from Gedo.
  17. Holy cow, this is wretched. It's like the episode of South Park where they start their own wrestling promotion.
  18. In the US at least, I think hair matches only work if it's a Kurt Angle/Buddy Roberts deal where the heel wears a wig after losing and the whole thing is played for comedy. It's hard to buy being forced to shave your head as a serious consequence in a promotion where matches are used to determine things like custody of a child. Then again, given WWE's track record with stipulations, there's a good chance the loser will just get a regular haircut like Kevin Nash in 2003.
  19. The loser will have to shave his beard.
  20. Hey, they're younger than Carlos Colon when he was a youngster in the 1993 Royal Rumble.
  21. There's no middle ground, it seems. Either they throw every idea they can think of against the wall to see what will stick or you're a bearded guy in trunks whose gimmick is you have good matches.
  22. Weekly PPVs? What a brilliant idea! How come no one ever thought of that before? PWInsider is reporting that the expected price is $13-15 a week, which is beyond insane.
  23. It's still real to him, apparently.
  24. It's an incontrovertible fact that Pollyanna has accused Meltzer of being part of a conspiracy against her, which calls her credibility into question somewhat. Setting that aside, the only credible allegation against Ospreay is that he caused her to lose a single booking with a single promotion, and even that story has holes. I can understand Dave not wanting to rush to judgment given that Enzo Amore lost his job with WWE not that long ago on the basis of a rape allegation that turned out to be completely bogus.
  25. I never watched so much as a millisecond of Game of Thrones, which meant that checking my Facebook feed on Monday mornings during the show's run was like reading Finnegans Wake.
