AEW TV - 9/20 - 9/23 - Grand Slam With No Apostrophes

The only problem is that MJF's father is still alive. -
WWE TV 9/25 - 10/1 Tua is the tribal chief of the NFL

I checked the USPTO database and WWE owns the trademark. However, it's questionable if they could maintain ownership if Dominik left the company since Rey started using the Mysterio name before coming to WWE. -
Acknowledge him.

For what it's worth, Rose's Observer obit says he was seen by WWF fans as not on the level of the top heels in the territory because he allowed TV jobbers to score near falls on him rather than destroying them outright like most guys being built up for a title shot.

In fairness, none of the Mexican companies took care of any of their talent during the pandemic. Psycho Clown had to work as an Uber driver and he's probably the most popular wrestler in the country.

Regardless of what you may think of his in-ring work, you can't deny that Steiner during that time was fucking terrifying. Peak Big Poppa Pump might actually be the most frightening wrestler of all time. I can't think of anyone else with his combination of size, legitimate ability, and hair-trigger temper. -

The problem is that wrestlers can't be trusted to self-report because they invariably downplay the severity of their injuries. In particular, someone who's suffered a traumatic brain injury can't be expected to give an accurate assessment of their well-being. In the clip above, you can see Moxley squeezed Fenix's hand to signal that he was OK, but he clearly wasn't. Also recall the time Daniel Bryan nearly got into a fight with HHH over the latter calling for a match to be stopped. -

There's no such thing as shaking off spaghetti legs. At least, there shouldn't be. Either the referee or medical personnel needs to intervene when someone shows signs of being concussed. Also, this is another reason why pro wrestling selling should be as theatrical as possible. When wrestlers sell realistically, it makes it harder to tell if they're legitimately injured. -

Minoru should do more stuff like this instead of endlessly trading forearms while making Jim Carrey faces. -

https://www.bodyslam.net/2023/09/18/exclusive-list-of-names-receiving-wwe-tryout-this-week-at-performance-center/ Looks like Holliday is the only name of note. Hammerstone and Fatu are still under contact to MLW as far as I know, and WWE will likely shy away from them as long as the lawsuit is ongoing. And if I were Jade, I would feel insulted if I had to try out at the PC with a bunch of former Dark/Elevation jobbers. -

Interesting choice for a stadium show location. Perth is famous for being the most isolated big city in the world, so the fly-in crowd will likely be close to nonexistent. I wonder if the show will end up being heavily papered, especially since paid attendance is largely moot if the city is paying to host. -
There's also Vince's longstanding obsession with mending fences with apostates and bringing them back into the company fold. It might actually be the main thing Punk has going for him at this point.

Two months from now is Survivor Series...in Chicago.

Assuming Cage could pass a wellness test, the problem is that he's a total black hole of charisma. No reason for WWE to pay out the nose for someone whose realistic ceiling is silent muscle for someone like The Miz.

The best part of the Conrad tweet is the Japanese comments. One guy asks if that's One Man Gang and the other asks if it's Crusher Blackwell. -
The last time they were in the ring together before last night was at the Rumble. Nia sandbagged Rhea on a riptide attempt, to which Rhea responded by clubbering the shit out of Nia and yelling "YOU WANNA GO UP NOW?" She then hit the riptide without incident.

Riddle can always hit the deathmatch circuit with his porn star girlfriend. Yes, he is seriously dating a porn star who also does deathmatches. Bro's trying to fill in all the squares on the bad life decisions bingo card. Speaking of WWE sex pests, today is VKM's last day as the company's owner as the merger with Endeavor will be finalized tomorrow. Vince the Elder started Capitol Wrestling Corporation in 1953, so it'll be the first time in 70 years a McMahon hasn't owned a wrestling company.

Being over and drawing money are two different things. Warrior was supposed to be Hogan's heir apparent, but he failed in that role. The fact that he ultimately wasn't successful makes people more willing to dunk on him. In wrestling, though, the only rule is it has to work. No one is obligated to like something simply because it's successful, but that doesn't mean letting your aesthetic preferences cloud your judgment of the business aspect. If something is working despite going against your deep-seated notions of how things should work, you can try to figure out why or you can accept that the business has passed you by. A lot of Cornette's venom seems to be rooted in his inability to come to grips with the latter reality. -
Wrong thread. This is for discussion about how the empire is crumbling, not how it's ascending.

The main obstacle to talent acquisition is the antitrust lawsuit against UFC, which will likely end up costing the company billions. It may not have much effect on talent currently under contract, but it'll probably make them less inclined to expand their roster.

He was 84, which is a bit surprising because that means he was only in his 40s when he was in the AWA and he looked ancient then. He also went to high school with Saddam Hussein, which is one of my all-time favorite pieces of wrestling trivia.

New Japan hasn't used him in the ring ever since he went into business for himself at WK16. That raises the question of why they don't just release him, but I guess they consider him too valuable as a trainer. But if he has the same deal as most of the company, he's mostly free to work anywhere he wants outside of Japan in between tours (with a few exceptions like AAA).
