  1. Rick Rude for me is the archetype for what a heel should be. He was tough and skilled enough that you had to respect him as a threat while having no redeeming qualities that would make someone want to cheer for him. That's a tough tightrope to walk, and I don't know if anyone can pull it off today. MJF's cheap heat edgelord act was cringe as hell for the most part and he's been much better as a babyface.
  2. Actually, some seasoning in working matches without shoot headbutts, piledrivers through tables, and head drops might do her good. With that said, it's a moot point for the time being. Per Meltzer, she's under contract through March, which means she can't go to the PC without Bushiroad's approval. And she's booked solid in Japan until Battle in the Valley in January.
  3. To top it all off, the show did 212 buys according to VOW. Even with the paltry viewership of their YouTube show, that's an abysmal conversion rate. I guess that's what happens when you don't have Tyrus wearing the belt on Fox News.
  4. Being out-carnied by the woman who lost a TV deal by secretly hiring Vince Russo and lying to the network about it is bad enough, but Corgan has one-upped her by potentially losing a TV deal by doing a cocaine spot on a PPV. Congratulations on being too lowbrow for the channel that airs FBoy Island.
  5. Not that I want it to happen, but it'd be pretty funny on a certain level if Danielson injured a different body part every time he faced Okada and it ends like the Black Knight in Monty Python with him lying in a crumpled heap in the middle of the ring demanding another go and Okada just walks away.
  6. Maybe Dolph Ziggler is the devil and they're waiting for his non-compete to expire to do the reveal.
  7. Holy cow, this man should not be anywhere near a wrestling ring.
  8. I'm sure the last thing WWE wants to do is draw even more attention to all the premature deaths in the industry.
  9. I've always thought Starks was pretty mid, much like LA Knight. But as with Knight, whatever works works. Having charisma and talking ability while being good enough in the ring to hang with elite workers with some smoke and mirrors is actually a pretty great starting point for a main event guy. Good technicians are a dime a dozen these days. Guys who connect with the audience on a star level are much rarer, which is why they need to be protected. Even if Danielson's body wasn't breaking down, the best use of him would be to have him make the Starks of the world look better than they really are while letting him cook in occasional dream matches.
  10. TV deals are the lifeblood of modern wrestling, which means ratings are as important to the company's bottom line as PPV revenue if not more so. And they did plant the seed for the match on BTE a few weeks ago. They absolutely could have done a better job of promoting it, but it didn't come completely out of nowhere.
  11. The injury is legitimate per PWInsider. These folks need to learn to work because the injury rate should not be this high in a fake sport.
  12. Now that the end is near, I think we can safely conclude that Impact was not, in fact, the best promotion in wrestling history. It looks like Betteridge's law of headlines also applies to thread titles.
  13. I had always been a big Darby fan, but now I hope he dies on Everest.
  14. Coach Tony K promised a special dream match for tonight's Collision, and did he ever deliver. Of course, I'm referring to this:
  15. It was brought to my attention that this week's Raw was only the third show Michael Cole has missed in 26 years with WWE. Whatever you may think about him as an announcer, that's some incredible commitment to the job. I don't think I could deal with Vince yelling in my headset for 20 minutes, let alone 20 years.
  16. How about calling him Adge? I am a genius.
  17. Rosenberg is 55% Hispanic, so that makes sense.
  18. Christian has been a longtime board favorite, and I honestly can't remember anyone here ever arguing in earnest that Edge was better. The days of you being the board's lone Christian advocate are a figment of your imagination. Anyway, if you all think Edge's promos are interminable now, wait until he turns heel. Remember the mountain of omnipotence? Imagine that unfiltered and unedited.
  19. Setting aside the fact that Hogan/Warrior really didn't work that well (Hogan/Earthquake was actually a stronger program, which is why Summerslam nearly outdrew Mania on PPV that year), Roman/Gunther is just a bad matchup stylistically. People aren't into Roman's matches for the in-ring work. Forcing Gunther to slow himself down for him would be a crime against humanity.
  20. It looks like Ricky's bug eyes comment caught Edge flat-footed. He likely figured he had to respond because his character would look like a chump if he just stood there and took it and things heated up from there. If he really was upset by the "over the edge" line, that's honestly a bit weird. I'm sure Owen's death was a traumatic experience, but that's a common enough phrase that you should probably seek therapy if hearing it in any context is going to set you off.
  21. How many more times is this going to happen? I'd hate for AEW to start fully scripting promos like WWE, but that might be the only option if the wrestlers don't have enough common sense to clear what they're going to say with the person the words are directed at beforehand.
  22. Taker's in-ring track record prior to the Mankind feud might actually be worse than Kane's over the same time period. In fairness, he wasn't given much to work with.
  23. I don't know if I'd call it great, but I do recall Kane's match with Benoit at Bad Blood 2004 being quite good. If you put a gun to my head, that'd be my pick for the best Kane singles match. He also had a surprisingly good match with Daisuke Ikeda in PWFG.
  24. What limitations does Lesnar have that need to be worked around?
