  1. Hence, why I said Rey Mysterio might work here in my post. I thought the WM 26 match was fine, but I wouldn't call it good. Punk vs. Rock was extremely disappointing. I saw Flair have a better match in 1990 with Tom Zenk than Punk was able to in the second biggest show of the year with The Rock. Cena also had a better match the year before at Mania even though I don't think that is a great performance for him either. Was 1990 Tom Zenk completely gassed two minutes into every one of his matches? And the Rock/Cena matches weren't good at all. Both the Punk matches blow them out of the water. Come on now.
  2. Punk-Rey at WM26 was sub-10:00 and quite good. Also, I don't think it's fair to hold the Rock matches against Punk. Flair in his prime would have had trouble doing anything with 2013 Rock. I honestly don't see how those matches could have been any better.
  3. Meltzer didn't give that match *****.
  4. I'm pretty sure his comments about how your criticisms should be ignored were tongue-in-cheek.
  5. Bryan is doubtful for the Rumble due to that concussion.
  6. Why don't you quit whining and do it yourself. Setting aside the fact that there was nothing even remotely whiny about my post, I was hoping someone like you or Phil would do it to keep with the spirit of OJ outlining Satanico's flaws.
  7. I love that this thread has become an exercise in Maoist self-criticism. Let's get some thoughts on the flaws of Lawler and Fujiwara.
  8. I watched Buddy Landel vs. Freddy. I guess I'm a joyless sack of shit, because I thought the match was atrocious. Completely irredeemable on every level. The kind of thing that makes you embarrassed to be a wrestling fan.
  9. Jumbo and Hansen had some really good singles matches with each other in 1986.
  10. How about Rude/Chono from Halloween Havoc? At the very least, it has to be in the running for worst match relative to established level of performance. Sid or Zeus being in a terrible match is hardly noteworthy. But Rude and Chono were both more than capable of having good matches. Hell, they were capable of having good matches with each other. Then Havoc happened. The torturous length is the icing on the cake.
  11. Figured this would be a fun topic to discuss. To make things interesting, I'm excluding matches that were ruined by overbooking or a ridiculous gimmick. I'm also excluding matches involving celebrities and the like. I'm looking for matches where trained and experienced wrestlers completely stink out the joint and have no one to blame but themselves.
  12. The biggest disappointment to me was Loss being unable or unwilling to understand what "playing the bitch" refers to even after it was explained repeatedly in great detail.
  13. Almost everyone also had Bryan pegged for winning the title at HIAC. Also, let's not go overboard in explaining Kane's involvement. So he joined the Authority because he knew that Luke Harper would get pinned in Bryan's first match with the Wyatts and that Bray would want to tag with Bryan as a result and that Harper and Rowan would run in for the DQ in that match and that Brad Maddox would call for a rematch in a cage? That's not long-term planning, that's some Batman-level shit.
  14. Darren Young.
  15. So what was the point of making a comparison thread?
  16. When was the last time Bret was discussed in this thread?
  17. Get a load of the chin on that Bullseye host. It's practically Inoki-esque.
  18. Stop me if you've heard this one before: a warrant has been issued for Flair's arrest for unpaid support and legal fees to his most recent ex-wife. Guess there won't be any shocking swerves at the Panthers game after all.
  19. When did rovert ever say that he personally was a fan of Devitt in any capacity?
  20. If the 49ers don't see the double-cross coming, they're even dumber than Sting.
  21. Either way, $60 for what they're offering is a bargain at twice the price. Hell, Wrestlemania alone costs more than that.
  22. I think voting is premature until we see how it plays out on Raw. But the fact that Bryan has apparently been passively letting Bray kick his ass on house shows isn't a terribly encouraging sign.
  23. If you wanted to stand out on this board, you'd praise the show to the moon.
  24. Maybe he told them to run plays that lose yardage every time they try them to pop the Green Bay crowd.

The interesting thing to me is the revelation that Taker has taken to planning out and rehearsing his matches. Wasn't he one of the guys who trashed DDP for not knowing how to work because he liked to script his matches?
