  1. I have no idea why Flair felt the need to let the world know he had let Madden go after Madden said he was leaving the show because it didn't fit his schedule. Normally when you fire someone, you allow them to preserve face by publicly claiming it was a mutual parting unless they did something really bad to warrant the firing. Especially if it's a longtime friend and collaborator.
  2. They did book a segment where he gave Stacy Keibler a stunner for not liking the beer he gave her. That did receive a fair amount of criticism, although probably not nearly as much as it should have.
  3. Is there any reason to think this is anything more than speculation from a random Redditor? Regal wrestling BPJ's father and Moxley being from Cincinnati are pretty thin reeds. I could see the former being a compelling argument for someone like David Finlay, but it's not like Regal and Pillman had a legendary rivalry. Speaking of Finlay, what's he been up to lately? Is he still in Impact?
  4. I had legitimately forgotten that Ronda had returned and was wrestling at Mania.
  5. I mean, it's highly unlikely he was only taking growth hormone and not steroids as well. Considering how long he was on the juice along with a family history of heart issues, it's no surprise he would have a similar fate as the Ultimate Warrior. The truth is, he's incredibly lucky to be alive. He said that if he'd been doing any kind of exercise when he had his cardiac event, he would've dropped dead on the spot. By the way, I hope Rock is paying attention. He's carrying way too much mass for his age, even setting aside the means he's likely using to attain it.
  6. 19 years ago today. If this isn't peak TNA, I don't know what is.
  7. It's pretty ironic if you think about it. Several times in his career, he had shoehorned himself into "dream matches" no one really cared about against the likes of Brock and Sting. Now that a match with genuine intrigue on a number of levels (vs. Cody) has presented itself, he's in no condition to work it. By the way, here's an interesting fact: according to Cagematch, Hulk Hogan and HHH both had their final career matches against Robert Roode.
  8. At least he didn't try to claim the name change was his idea.
  9. I mean, Fedor basically no-sold getting dumped on his head by Randleman, so it's not about realism. If anything, the opposite is true. The idea behind selling is to exaggerate the impact of moves to generate drama and reduce the physical toll.
  10. They'd better be turning heel if they're going to continue in this vein because this shit is cringe as hell. Sammy's better off as a heel anyway. Not only does he have the most punchable face in wrestling since Yoji Anjo, he just radiates douchebag energy.
  11. All of you who tried to claim Vickie was a good promo, I accept your apology.
  12. I was never a regular ROH watcher, but knowing what the 2000s indies were like, I'm sure there was plenty of commentary that sounded bad at the time and sounds even worse today. Smart move on Gabe's part.
  13. Wait, did Sammy really say he jizzed on the belt?
  14. You love to see it: Guess he'll have to go back to controlling his narrative.
  15. The only interesting WWE storyline is finally going to be paid off, so mark your calendars.
  16. WCW wrestlers were once on Politically Incorrect. Note how incredulous Maher is at the idea that chair shots actually hurt. There's a lesson to be drawn there about toning it down in the ring. To the public as a whole, wrestling being fake means everything about it must be fake. After all, what kind of absolute morons would kill themselves in a fake fight?
  17. Remember that one year when Mania was nothing but multi-man matches and it sucked and just about everyone hated it?
  18. Jacobs has been Q-pilled for quite some time. Per the contributions database, other notable contributors to Drake's campaign include Jessica Barnes (Marty Jannetty's wife), Paula Sopp (Billy Gunn's wife), Chad Lail (Jaxson Ryker), and Terry Taylor. It should come as no surprise that the Taylor Made Man is on board since evidence of him being a huge racist that emerged during discovery in the WCW racial discrimination lawsuit was a big part of the reason the wrestlers who sued WCW made out like bandits.
  19. The main instances of women's wrestling drawing in female fans are 70s/80s AJW and Total Divas/Bellas. In both cases, it wasn't workrate that drew them in but an emotional connection with the performers. Thunder Rosa may be over, but there's no real reason for women specifically to care about her.
  20. Based on comments on the F4W board, the opposite is true. They apparently consider two hours an outrageous amount of time to travel for a sports or entertainment event. I guess it's true what they say: Americans think 100 years is a long time and Europeans think 100 miles is a long distance.
  21. Interesting choice since Cardiff seems to be a bit of a distance from the UK's major population centers. I guess we'll see how popular WWE still is in the country. What's Mason Ryan up to these days?
  22. Maybe it's just that Britt isn't very good. Time for Jade Cargill to take over her entourage like Rock kicking Faarooq out of the Nation of Domination.
  23. You know what, I'd actually order one of their shows if they promised to have everyone come out to Headstrong.
  24. I don't know how it works in Florida, but on the federal level, you have to fill out a form listing your address, occupation, and employer when making a campaign contribution. If Busick isn't an idiot (or a liar), Drake is likely violating campaign finance law. By the way, other contributors to his campaign include Matt Riddle, Killer Kross, Elias, Bobby Fish, and Jimmy Jacobs. What a cesspool the 2000s indies turned out to be. https://www.ewrestlingnews.com/news/riddle-karrion-kross-more-donate-to-qanon-referee-drake-wuertzs-political-campaign
