Britt Baker's response was even better. -
AEW TV 06/22 - 06/24 Steph Curry is top 10 of all time

The whole point of the Orange Cassidy character is that he's a serious threat when he actually tries but is usually too lazy to bother. It should be obvious how the match at Forbidden Door will go. Ospreay will be a prick in the early going because he thinks this shit is beneath him, OC will eventually snap and give Ospreay all he can handle before going down. Basically the same deal as the PAC match from a couple of years ago. -
Any telling of the Von Erich story is going to be either massively depressing or a total whitewash. If Kevin is involved, it'll likely be the latter.

You'd figure that if Danielson were too injured to work the PPV, he'd be too injured to fly in for Dynamite.

In case you missed it, Vince settled the Oliver Luck lawsuit. https://www.sportsbusinessjournal.com/Daily/Closing-Bell/2022/06/20/Luck-McMahon-XFL.aspx The terms weren't disclosed, but I'm willing to bet Luck made out like a bandit. It seems likely that Vince did whatever he had to do to make the lawsuit go away because testifying under oath, especially about his moral character, is the last thing he wants to do right now.

WWE TV 06/20 - 06/26 Insert clever subtitle here

So let's see how WWE followed up on Riddle's title shot, shall we? Squashed like a bug by Omos. But hey, at least he's not being paired with Seth Rolli- With this kind of booking, he'll be world champion by the end of the year. -
I expect plenty of "Stephanie loved me, but that son of a bitch Brother Love" on podcasts in the coming months.
-
I hope everyone who cheered for Vince when he came out gets the same treatment as the Capitol rioters.

And also the New York State Athletic Commission. -
Maybe he'll get blown up again. It'd be as good a way as any to write him off.

It's quite telling that in the statement Vince issued, he simply pledged to fully cooperate with the investigation and accept the findings whatever they may be. Not even a boilerplate comment about how he was fully confident he would be cleared of any wrongdoing. By the way, it's plain as day that Vince's fetishes are the primary if not sole determinant of which women get pushed. It's just that Johnny Ace or whoever it was was dumb enough to say the quiet part loud. The funny thing is that the likes of AJ and Paige got over with the young male audience way more than all the stereotypical blond bombshells, which is why they're trying to replicate the formula with Cora Jade.

The investigation into the settlement has unearthed older NDAs involving allegations of misconduct by former female WWE employees with total payments in the millions. If any of those settlements involved company money and/or misconduct more serious than an affair, Vince's goose is cooked.
-
A secret hush-money settlement goes well beyond simply embarrassing. That is absolutely something that could bring down the CEO of a publicly traded company. Bill Gates got ousted from Microsoft for less. And CNBC has picked the story up. This is going to be huge.

There shouldn't have been any decision to make. They should have made it clear to Jeff from the get-go that he was in one-strike-and-you're-out territory. There's no reason to think rehab will stick given his track record.

I know that's tongue-in-cheek, but they made up years ago. Bret knew that Hebner was just following orders and would have been fired himself had he not gone along.

Also, he was part of the funniest thing that has ever happened in a wrestling ring. -
AEW TV 06/08 - 06/10 Lots of fuckery tonight bubbas!

I don't think they'll run an IWGP title match at Forbidden Door. In fact, I doubt there will be any marquee singles matches at all outside of the interim AEW title match. The show sold out instantly, so clearly the concept itself is such a strong draw that no big-time matchup they could run would significantly boost business. Might as well save those for later on down the line. -

I feel like anti-HBK sentiment was strongest (or at least loudest) during the early 2010s period when WWE was overtly pushing him as the GOAT, largely because Ric Flair was in TNA and on the outs politically. Of course, people went too far in the other direction and said things like Shawn wasn't any good after leaving the Rockers. The truth, as it usually is, is somewhere in the middle. It should be noted that Punk said a while back that he was a Shawn fan growing up because of his flashiness and cockiness but now finds that Bret's work stands the test of time better. That seems to be increasingly the view expressed by fans and wrestlers, although it wasn't that long ago that virtually every American wrestler under 200 pounds viewed Shawn as an inspiration. -
Dave went ***** for the main event. First WWE main roster match to get a fiveboy since Punk/Cena. To be honest, I'm not sure I want to live in a world where Cody Rhodes has as many five-star matches as Bret Hart.

Never mind the Rollins part. Who the fuck is Ashule?

There are a number of schools and roads in California named after Bret Harte (not the Hitman obviously but a 19th-century writer known for his short stories about the California Gold Rush). There's even a town named after him. -
That's why the periodic shuffling of wrestlers down the card in AEW that people complain about is actually a good thing. Not only does it prevent anyone from becoming stale and overexposed, it means the company doesn't miss a beat if someone leaves or has to take time off. Obviously some folks are more important to AEW than others, but no one's as indispensable to them as Roman and Brock are to WWE.
-
Not quite a full-fledged joint show, but AJW sent wrestlers to work Hamada's UWF shows in the early 90s. And Big Egg Universe featured a Michinoku Pro trios match.

You need to stop reading those rag sheets, brother. Macho Man's arm was perfect.

The consensus from medical professionals seems to be that the injury was already as bad as it was going to get and working the match was just an issue of pain management. Exploiting a gruesome-looking but relatively minor injury is just classic pro wrestling. Also, let's get real. If pro wrestlers cared about their physical well-being, they wouldn't have gotten involved in the industry in the first place. If anything, they're more likely to cover up the severity of their injuries to avoid being put on the shelf.
