I don't think they'll run an IWGP title match at Forbidden Door. In fact, I doubt there will be any marquee singles matches at all outside of the interim AEW title match. The show sold out instantly, so clearly the concept itself is such a strong draw that no big-time matchup they could run would significantly boost business. Might as well save those for later on down the line.

I feel like anti-HBK sentiment was strongest (or at least loudest) during the early 2010s period when WWE was overtly pushing him as the GOAT, largely because Ric Flair was in TNA and on the outs politically. Obviously some folks are more important to AEW than others, but no one's as indispensable to them as Roman and Brock are to WWE.

The consensus from medical professionals seems to be that the injury was already as bad as it was going to get and working the match was just an issue of pain management. Exploiting a gruesome-looking but relatively minor injury is just classic pro wrestling. Also, let's get real. If pro wrestlers cared about their physical well-being, they wouldn't have gotten involved in the industry in the first place. If anything, they're more likely to cover up the severity of their injuries to avoid being put on the shelf.
