  1. I'm a woman and I know guys that smoke and I have some cousins that chew. They're both gross. But I'm sure there are women that don't care as well as some that would call one way worse. Just depends, I suppose. Anyways, it didn't bother me too much but it was surprising from Flair. I remember Dustin Rhodes chewing in his Highspots shoot too and it did seem a lot more natural to see him doing it for some reason.
  2. If they could have gotten Charlie Sheen about this time last year, that would've been license to print money. Now, I think people are bored of him so it wouldn't work the same way. But he was ostensibly jobless at the time, so he could have put time into it, and most big entertainment companies wouldn't touch him for reasons that WWE wouldn't give two fucks about.
  3. I'm like the biggest Hayes mark that has ever lived so I never miss these. His Iron Sheik story makes me wish we coulda got a good Hayes shoot, but for him to still be employed after everything he's done, I've pretty much given up on that. The Lauper stuff was kind of hard to watch. I mean, she was probably one of the top 5 biggest names in music at the time she was doing all that. Could you imagine, I don't know...Kelly Clarkson stopping her career to manage Kelly Kelly (the Kelly connection!) or something? No chance. And Lauper did it before wrestling was hot so it's not like she was bandwagon-ing. And the story I always heard was that her boyfriend/fiancee at the time was a huge mark, which is why he was always ringside with her so she at least had a passing interest. JR's bashing of her cheapened much of his argument, IMO.
  4. Jamie Dundee is my wrestling guilty pleasure. Hilarious.
  5. This was such a good, short match. I do agree that it was best to keep Liger away from the big guys most of the time, but it did produce some cool moments like the Fujinami-assisted powerbomb on Tenryu.
  6. That southern accent was just awesome.
  7. I love the storytelling here. The crowd was completely behind the turn(s).
  8. Too bad Kevin Christian couldn't be the ref in this angle but I guess he was still upset after being fired by Tod Gordon.
  9. I like the Charlotte Hornets guy that just gets in the ring and, immediately thinking better of it, just left. I remember watching this at the time, which was rare because I had quit watching a few months before. The whole time I was like "Hulk Hogan will do it", not really knowing he had left. I wonder how many Hogan chants there were that day. Probably best it wasn't live in that regards.
  10. Yeah this has to be the best one by miles. It's the only one that actually made me laugh...and it did twice! First, the aforementioned Jack:"Aren't you a singer? Sing us a song" Dustin: "well I don't have a band but...." and then at the end after the big tussle, where Jack escapes again all Dustin says is "I lost my hat!"
  11. Pretty crazy visuals between Flair in a t-shirt and jeans and Double A dancing at the end.
  12. That's the one I was talking about. If that happened nowadays? Forget it...that fan is getting his own WWE youtube show, t-shirt, Slammy award....the sky's the limit.
  13. Hey, he would "love...I mean LOVE" to see 77 year old Lou Thesz climb into the ring!
  14. Sad to watch but at least we get to hear Rude's theme...always a treat.
  15. I don't care what comes after, Aja's Cross Colours leather (!) jacket is the fashion highlight of 1993.
  16. Yeah, with all the money WCW blew buying wrestlers and shitty writers from WWF, you'd think they would've poached a producer/director or two. I mean this was presumably filmed on CNN property and it looks worse than stuff filmed for public access.
  17. It's weird, they don't say their brothers...Billy just calls him his "partner" a few times and that they've been "riding together for pretty long". Oh man, this was originally a Billy and Chuck gimmick!
  18. And thank God, the 1993 yearbook features a staple of 1993 WCW...the "whoomp there it is" chant.
  19. I wonder how a gimmick like this could work nowadays. Pretty, young feminist.
  20. Well knowing Luger, the 3 sentence promo could've taken like 2 hours. But yeah, he's totally rocking the Marcy Darcy hairdo.
  21. Just brutal. He talks a bit about this match in his first book.
  22. I can't even imagine how cool this must have been at the time. It's hard to imagine the WWE doing anything like this nowadays.
  23. I didn't even realise he was in USWA at that time.
  24. I would point out how much money McMahon must have wasted with all this pageantry but it's not even in his top 50 biggest wastes of money so not much point...
