  1. Magic said "high school" in the clip so I guess that's what he meant. Weird.
  2. USA chant to those dastardly foreigners, Vader and Flair.
  3. I watched it too, and yeah, it was edited a bit differently than past ones. Plus it was "the history of Raw" but the most interesting parts of it were when they were talking about the Monday night wars so all it served to do was highlight how much worse Raw is without competition.
  4. Heh, more green-screen action than a James Cameron movie.
  5. Hayes talked about that on one of those Legends roundtable things. Basically, they couldn't hear the music at all (good ole WCW screw-up) and Garvin had only heard the song a couple of times so he had no clue what to do.
  6. Add me to the "don't get it" section.
  7. According to Meltzer they were really worried about Bret getting a bigger babyface pop than Diesel for his first big defense so they were teasing a heel turn going in to the Rumble.
  8. And then Rich & Gilbert won the belts back on the day this was shown. Pretty good feud.
  9. Oh man, that's the outfit Jarrett wore for his entire first WCW run.
  10. I remember him describing this one in detail in his book. Crazy that he was going for a barbed wire hangman at one point.
  11. I liked the match quite a bit actually but I agree it would have benefited from being in a smaller arena. There were some nice spots that got almost no reaction.
  12. The tour of Europe was in between the Bash and Halloween Havoc. He beat Flair clean about a half dozen times, which is just horrible.
  13. I'm not the biggest fan of joshi (and maybe that plays into this) but I really liked this match.
  14. The cane shot to the back of Tommy's head was pretty good.
  15. I do believe he's being genuine, but I can't hear McMahon being gracious without thinking he's being condescending.
  16. From the 10/31/94 WON: "It was no secret going in that after Hogan beat Flair, the company's No. 1 priority would be the post-match angle to establish John Tenta, now called Avalanche, as the new monster heel threat to be fed to Hogan. There would be no time to give Flair the send-off that he deserves." He even mentioned the plan was for Flair to return in March to team with Hogan, so he didn't I don't think anyone in the business bought Flair retiring in the slightest, so why bother giving him a big send-off? Yes, it would have made it look authentic, but they had to bow to whatever Hogan wanted.
  17. I also got Piper vibes from him during this ECW run.
  18. Between the facepaint and the druggy behaviour, Sherri is giving me serious Jeff Hardy vibes here.
  19. I think Landell was still around at this point, but they had lost a "loser must split up" match to the Moondogs.
  20. From the WON write-up of it, it sounds like they convinced Corluzzo that it would just be a regional angle and he should just strip him of the title and then they could give the belt to Benoit like they always wanted to.
  21. His back is just tore apart. It's funny when people say "It sounds/looks bad but it doesn't really hurt." Looks like it hurt to me. And again, Woman is great here. This feud makes me want to watch some old Florida with her in it.
