Hopefully Taryn Terrell was working a house show in another state that night as well
-
They keep mentioned Kerry but never show him in the ring. That cage match against I guess Black Bart or Johnny Mantell is constantly talked about
-
Yeah I don't know what the flooding situation would be in his area but if a really strong storm hits all those newsletters in this garage are screwed.
-
Yeah I wonder if the reason why he has one of the 5 largest collections of VHS wrestling tapes is because the other 90% of the world has figured out how to convert to DVD.
-
Really looking forward to seeing some reviews on the new one from Eric Embry done by steve Corino http://www.highspots.com/p/embry-shoot.html

Not sure what the benefits of an HD channel of ESPN classic since 90% of the stuff not beginning with 30 for 30 on the title was before HD got big. Those big letterboxes are annoying. Hopefully we get the early Global and not the end of the territory version where Chaz vs Mike Davis was the top feud

Watching the most recent Monday Night RAW 1999 from Classics and I really don't know why Russo thought you can make Jim Ross coming back from Bells Palsy a bitter heel. Nobody really wants to hate on him and he is going after people that they don't really care about like Bart Gunn and Michael Cole. I wonder if the gimmick that JR was talking about for Dr Death as basically a 1999 version of Tensai was an actual idea. -

I wouldn't mind a happy medium where the wrestling side goes here and Death Valley was other topics. This would have a been a great week for the baseball and hockey threads I have a feeling by the way, is the fact that Gail Kim vs Taryn Terrell has been one of the better feuds of the year one of the signs for the end of the world. Very good last women's standing match and a pretty good ladder match tonight -
Someone posted on Twitter and he is so right: "No one hates wrestling fans more than wrestling fans". by the way, not sure how Curtis Axel losing to Jericho helps him out but since they do that with everybody in the WWE I guess it isn't surprising

The problem is that Kevin Matthews is such a douche at times that even if he is right (which wouldn't surprise me) people are going to have a hard time taking him seriously. But if more people complain then the story will get more legs -
I don't know how you can be underwhelmed by that debut. Those guys aren't supposed to be flashy they are suppose to be scary. And knowing WWE fans, when one set of marks do it then all of the marks do it. I hope they appear at Money in the Bank because I think the Philly crowd might give them a chance Although I will say I am worried about this Roman Harper guy. I have heard he sucks in the ring and that debut didn't help matters. Luke (Brodie Lee) Harper and Bray Wyatt doesn't worry me at all.

It is funny how wrestlers and comic book characters are the only people in signings that are willing to do gimmicks like this for money. I don't see Joe Montana offering an extra $200 to pretend you are a center about to snap the ball or Cal Ripken offering an extra $200 to pretend to tag you out of a stolen base attempt -

and for $200 they put some curtains around the bed for privacy and for another 200 after the show she stalks you drunk off her ass at your work No good can come from this signing. -
Well they did bring in the next best (or worst) replacement to Madden with Ferrera in bush league Jimmy Buffett outfit for about 2 months in the beginning. But that turned into a disaster
-
I don't know why the but idea of Naylor getting replaced by GQ Money from XPW in the WWE developmental is just a weird thing to imagine.

Dave and Bryan was going through the finish of the Punk/Axel match on RAW where Punk does all the work and Axel tag himself in and gets the pin and Bryan tries one of his terrible sports analogies and before he gets to it Dave is begging him not to it. But of course that doesn't stop him. First he asked how many yards are in a football field. Then he goes something like "what if a guy ran 99 yards about to go in for a touchdown and someone steals a jersey of the player, grabs the ball, and gets the final yard for the TD" And then we get a good 2-3 seconds of Dave silence

Not to be insulting but I think a 12 year old could have re-booked WCW 2000 and it would have better than the actual product -
Yeah to judge bitter Cornette you have to listen to the interview he did with Mike Johnson. The Meltzer one was him realizing that he already opened a hornet's nest and didn't want any more bees to fly out. Besides I think Mike Johnson is more interested in the current wrestling product than Dave is so his interviews would be more of a historic standpoint.
-
I defy anything to listen to Bryan's Punk/Axel tag team like scenario involving football and not get amazing douche chills. Even Dave had a good 2 seconds of silence when trying to comprehend this stupidity. Bad enough he doesn't know how many yards a football field is.
-
I eagerly await the tons of animated gifs of Dave getting into his bike crash that fucked up his ride and left the other guy in a bloody mess. I did like Bryan saying that he should have brought the blade since the other guy bled.

1989 was a great NWA year but what about 1985? Some incredible angles and matches that time World Class is definitely 1983. That was the year that World Class was the hottest.
-
I guess what bothers me (well not bothered but miffed) is that the Cornette completely shit on (Super Smash Brothers, Kevin Steen, El Generico) as being guys that wrestling fans watching can't relate to because of their look. I don't think wrestling fans are at the point anymore of being that superficial. If you are hell of a worker they fans don't care if you are short, fat, wearing a mask, or have tassles on your feet. Congrats to Cornette for one of only a small handful of people that doesn't like El Generico calling him "type of idiot they would sign these days". Yeah like Daniel Bryan, Kassius Ohno, and Luke Harper?
-
Well he is right about Austin Aries and Kenny King and mocking them for their IPPVs is just too easy (and deserved) but blaming the fans is serious sour grapes. Yeah ROH fans can be assholes at times but I don't see patience is one of their problems. Ring of Honor has had many a great feud that lasts months and months and don't remember people complaining. Hell Bryan Danielson and Samoa Joe must have had 4 or 5 matches in a row it seems and nobody seemed to complain. And apparently Gabe on twitter had similiar views. Here is what he said in copy and paste : My favorite is the concept that the Steen & Generico feud almost ruined the company. Except for Steen, Generico, and the Briscoes was there anyone else that the fans were really enthralled in

Have we confirmed that there is going to be a documentary on this? I thought it was going to be like Rey Mysterio or Shawn Michaels My Journey where they talk a little bit and then shows a match or two As far as this talk about nothing being groundbreaking, besides maybe the Bret Hart Dungeon DVD has there been a WWE DVD with groundbreaking stuff. The fact that they are creating a DVD for a company that maybe 10% of the usual WWE fan base have seen unlike us, I think it is great. It is a nice starter DVD
