[1991-04-01-SWS-Wrestle Dream in Kobe] Hulk Hogan vs Yoshiaki Yatsu
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in April 1991
Hogan’s repertoire in the Japan is so much better. It’s entertaining to see him bust out all these armbars, go behinds, drop toe holds. Yatsu didn't really do much though and match was on the short side. -
[1991-04-01-SWS-Wrestle Dream in Kobe] Earthquake vs Koji Kitao
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in April 1991
Tenta had his guard up from the beginning. Kitao is going for the two eye poke and Tenta gets pissed off. Non cooperative matches are bad. Kitao kicks the referee for good measure. Being on WrestleMania must have gone to his head or something. Kitao came off looking real bad here throwing a fit like this.- 13 replies

[1991-03-31-WWF-Wrestling Challenge] Irwin R. Schyster vignette
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in March 1991
WWF loves tax season so they can do these IRS segments. IRS thinks it’s cheating to give money to charities and try to claim it. Audits for everyone. -
[1991-03-31-WWF-Primetime Wrestling] Bobby Heenan and Andre the Giant
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in March 1991
Heenan Family isn’t doing as good as it use to. Clip of Heenan rolling around in grapes under threat of Andre. The Giant really just stood there and Bobby could have ran away easily. Here’s Andre. Bobby wants a handshake. Bad idea. Andre isn’t part of the Heenan Family anymore. I thought he walked out on them back at WM6. Andre had to use Gene to keep balance. -
[1991-03-31-WWF-Wrestling Challenge] Hulk Hogan and Sgt. Slaughter
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in March 1991
What did Gene say??? Cool little clip of Slaughter attacking Hogan with fireball and chair in hallway after WrestleMania. Sarge probably should have hit Adnan while he was at it. I thought Okerlund was going to cry here. -
[1991-03-30-WCW-Saturday Night] Lex Luger and Nikita Koloff
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in March 1991
Luger out for a interview with Jim Ross. Koloff interrupts right away and they do a quick pull apart. The cut away from it too soon for it to make any type of impact.- 7 replies

[1991-03-30-WCW-Saturday Night] Tommy Rich vs Arn Anderson
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in March 1991
Arn very pleased with himself after hitting the shoulder block. Heyman getting under Ross’ skin on commentary is fun. Did like the body scissors turned into Boston crab. Sid’s interference was very random and didn’t lead to anything. Not only was Anderson in control at finish but he also hits Rich with a spinebuster after match was over.- 10 replies

[1991-03-30-WCW-Saturday Night] Interview: Barry Windham
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in March 1991
Dusty is not going to ask the questions fed to him by WCW. Dusty channeling Okerlund with the questions. Rhodes thinks Windham has not lived up to his potential as yet become World Champion. Barry says it is time to take care of himself. Horsemen seem to be going their own way now. We get a Sid mention.- 6 replies

[1991-03-30-WWF-Superstars] Right Guard commercial
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in March 1991
Yeah, Hogan does well in this commercial. Really small painting he had there though. -
That’s something to watch Hogan getting press slammed like that. While everyone adjusts their style to fit Japan, Hebner still sucks. Match was excellent though. Hogan took a lot of big moves and bumps. He can be so much better in Japan from the little I have seen of him there. LOD looked like monsters during match tossing Hogan and Tenryu around. Finish is what I expected so didn’t really hurt it in my eyes.

[1991-03-30-SWS-Wrestlefest] Naoki Sano vs Masakatsu Funaki
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in March 1991
Don’t know what rules/scoring they are using here. Striking looked good. Funaki’s cornermen were very excited about his win.- 9 replies

Jarrett’s jeans are ripped in a strange area. Since it’s a street fight one chain shot won’t get the pinfall. Not sure why Pritchard is trying to hide the chain from referee when it is a street fight. Well that’s because the referee is checking for weapons.... in a street fight. That is dumb. Just count the pinfalls. Nice when they were whipping each other with the belt but the referee was annoying getting involved when he shouldn’t have since it’s a street fight.

Embry wins title with some outside help. Yeah, thought it would be a bit longer. With the hair on the line should have been presented as more.

[1991-03-26-WWF-Primetime Wrestling] Koko B. Ware in concert
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in March 1991
Vince looks so natural in the audience. Koko is just harassing poor Bobby. I did laugh when Koko told Heenan he needed timing to dance and Bobby pointed to his watch. This whole concert went longer than I expected. Koko sings alright but he doesn't have the strong voice. Oh my, Vince dancing. -
[1991-03-26-WWF-Primetime Wrestling] Interview: Ted DiBiase
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in March 1991
DiBiase isn’t not done with Virgil and is ready to take care of that cripple Piper too. Ted likes to be involved in multiple feuds at the same time. -
[1991-03-23-AJPW-Championship Carnival] Jumbo Tsuruta vs Cactus Jack
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in March 1991
If not for the subject line, I would have just expected this was included to show a Cactus match from AJPW against Jumbo. Cactus gets his bumps in. Crowd didn’t react too much. Jumbo seemed to be like okay that is that and time to end this. It was just a quick match against a guy much lower ranked than him.- 18 replies

[1991-03-24-WWF-Wrestlemania VII] Hulk Hogan vs Sgt. Slaughter
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in March 1991
I had to look up Marla Maples as I don’t know what makes her a celebrity besides being married to Trump later on. Her wikipedia page says she was having an affair with Trump at this point. Anyways, the match which I figure to be an okay one. I use to hate the match when I first saw it but do see the good stuff now with Slaughter bumping around. There was blood but I would have expected more violence from Hogan to get back at Slaughter. Adnan was atrocious in this. His timing was off and his distracting the referee why Slaughter had the cover was one of the dumbest things ever for a heel manager to do to his guy that wasn’t part of some turn. It was a lengthly distraction too and he had clear view of Slaughter pinning Hogan. Just bad. What was up with Hogan wiping the blood off his face with an American flag? Brain fart or just giving some fan a souvenir?- 16 replies

[1991-03-24-WWF-Wrestlemania VII] Interview: Sgt. Slaughter
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in March 1991
Slaughter teasing getting disqualified or counted out to keep the title. That would send the fans home happy after the big show. -
[1991-03-24-WWF-Wrestlemania VII] Ted DiBiase vs Virgil
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in March 1991
I liked DiBiase pushing Piper down again and again on the outside. Piper was doing the dramatic getting to his feet each time. Even had some ringside fans trying to pull him up. Sherri found herself a new gig fast. Her wig flying off when kicking Piper was funny. -
[1991-03-24-WWF-Wrestlemania VII] Randy Savage vs Ultimate Warrior
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in March 1991
Miss Elizabeth in the crowd watching. Warrior catches a Macho cross body off the top rope. Instead of slamming he puts Macho down on his feet and then slaps him in face. Savage had a great reaction to that. Sherri was fantastic in this match. Willing to go right at Warrior and risking her health. This remains one of my favorite WrestleMania matches. Yeah, there are some issues but the great storytelling/drama covers up those things in my eyes. The post match is just great with Elizabeth/Savage reunited. Fans loved it. Wish the announcers went silent though as they really didn’t need to talk over what was going on. -
[1991-03-24-WWF-Wrestlemania VII] Rick Martel vs Jake Roberts (Blindfold)
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in March 1991
Wow, I’m happy to see that this has a mostly favorable view here among the posters. This is one of my guilty pleasures. I loved Jake using the crowd with the pointing and them being very vocal on where to go. Must have been fun to be live in person. Martel does his part well with some of the physical comedy. Good suspense for a match that had essentially only had three wrestling moves and no brawling.- 13 replies

[1991-03-24-WWF-Wrestlemania VII] Hart Foundation vs Nasty Boys
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in March 1991
Thought probably not true it seemed like Bret always took the pinfalls in Hart Foundation loses. Anvil does the job here and on to bigger things for Bret.
