Kansai trying to get the Splash Mountain Bomb seconds in is a nice throw back to previous match. Good match but agreed that it doesn't match up to the prior matches between the teams.

[1993-11-19-AAA-Sin Limite] El Hijo del Santo vs Heavy Metal

There was probably at 25% chance I would order Royal Rumble if Bryan was in it. That is huge for someone like me who has not ordered a PPV since 2006. His health issues and being put in a singles match on show has probably burst my bubble of ordering show now. But damn will I completely second guess myself if he ends up being a surprise entrant.

It is disappointing to not see Vader drop Takada on his head. Big match feel overall but from a total kayfabe point of view I do not like see Takada beat Vader.

Minor suggestion. How about in initial post that you put a date/time when voting will be closed? I do like this concept though and providing the links on the couple matches to check out. For someone like me I need to be pointed in the direction of stuff to watch. Just watched Cena/Sandow and was a perfectly fine TV match with involving a top guy versus a middle guy. I enjoy watching Cena hit new moves in his arsenal like the half nelson into a neck breaker and the tornado DDT. Also prefer Cena matches when the are in the 10 minute range.

I still cannot accept this style in a tag team format. I do enjoy Albright suplexing opponents though. Some nice ones here and Hashimikov got a couple in himself. Severn was disappointing.

[1993-12-04-WWF-Superstars] Reo's Roundup: Shawn Michaels
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in December 1993
WWF sure did like making fun of Dusty Rhodes. Michaels is the undisputed IC champion which remarks draw out Razor. We almost come to blows after Ramon pops Michaels bubble gum. -
[1993-12-04-WWF-Superstars] Jeff Jarrett vignette
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in December 1993
The guy with Jarrett looks like USWA referee Frank Morrell. Jarrett wants to rename the WWF as the JJF. -
Gorilla has his opinion of what happened at Survivor Series. I'm sure it is biased towards the faces. Video from Harts match at Series. Monsoon doesn't give his opinion of what he thought about Survivor Series but lets get some comments from "Cain and Abel". Gorilla is more biased than Heenan.

Really not much else can be said. Kobashi striking Kawada's knee with a flurry of punches. The amazing selling by Kawada. It felt more epic than the 24 minutes it went. It is AJPW's year though I have a soft spot for another group. But this is the tops.

Boss Man has made Williams as a tag team wrestler so much more interesting. We are not seeing Gordy and Williams exchange lazy looking submission holds on their opponents. I enjoy Boss Man just throwing uppercuts like crazy. He has looked very good in both of these tag matches. I think he could have performed into early part of 94 at least and been better than Ace. He couldn't have matched Johnny's performance from the 12/10/94 match where Ace really stepped it up.

I just don't see this match being better if DiBiase was involved. We would have seen more of a split in the time in the ring with Hansen. With Baba in place, Stan gets most of the ring time. The crowd love Baba which adds to the match whenever he is in there. He wasn't lighting up in the ring but he didn't have to with Hansen, Misawa and Kobashi involved.

[1993-11-13-WWF-Superstars] Survivor Series Report
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in November 1993
Just me speculating but Taker seemed planned as they were already teasing him versus Yoko. Crush felt more of a last minute addition as you split up the Quebecer team who were feuding with Steiners and put Crush in match where he is not yet feuding with anyone on that team. -
[1993-11-29-WWF-Raw] Bret Hart: Superstar of the Year
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in November 1993
So they go out of their way to show Lex Luger came in second. Fine to give Bret the award since he deserved it but to bring out Luger on TV and say hey Lex did not win again. First words out of Vince's mouth, "Hey Lex Luger, congratulations". Lex, "Thank you" to a weak crowd cheer and Lex then dropping his head. Luger officially concedes the number one spot to Bret well before the Rumble. Bret makes a promise that he will win the WWF Title. -

[1993-11-27-WCW-Saturday Night] Starrcade announcement
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in November 1993
I think Okerlund made yearbook appearance at Clash. Gene talks about many locations bidding for the chance to host Starrcade. Kind of how WrestleMania is now. He even calls Starrcade the grand daddy of them all which has been used for WrestleMania. Flair wants Vader for the World Heavyweight Title. Vader wants to know what Flair has to give. Ric puts his career on the line!- 9 replies

Smothers and Anthony are both good guys now but that alone will not just make them friends after their previous history. You can tell Smothers appreciates Anthony helping him out but he still apprehensive about making up with DWB. Smart booking.

[1993-11-27-USWA-TV] Brian Christopher vs PG-13
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in November 1993
Jeff is on to bigger and better things now that he has the Unified Title. He doesn't want to take risks defended the Tag Titles as there is no benefits to it. So he hands over the belt to Eddie Marlin. It a reasonable thing to do but he probably should have discussed it with Christopher beforehand. Christopher is willing to defend the tag titles himself as does not want to forfeit his title also. He was not given an option of a substitute partner and PG13 win the belts. -
[1993-11-27-WWF-Superstars] Update: Owen Hart interview
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in November 1993
Owen gives a low key phone interview with Gorilla. I like that they did not go full speed into the Owen turn. He makes some good points. He is a wrestler himself in the WWF for a couple years so should not need to be introduced as Bret's brother. Owen also questions Bret's leadership at Survivor Series. -
[1993-11-26-AAA] El Satanico vs Pirata Morgan (Hair vs Hair)
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in November 1993
More violent than the Dandy/Charles Hair Match that was a few days earlier. I was getting annoyed in the second fall when they kept showing the crowd over and over. Was taking away from match. But we do see Jake Roberts sitting ringside and Cheryl Roberts too! Both guys get real bloody and deliver in this brawl.- 8 replies

The Giberts do not like being screwed by the wrestling promoters. They do two really quick pinfalls before both unmasking. The Japanese fans must have been so confused.

[1993-11-24-WWF-Survivor Series] Rock & Roll Express vs Heavenly Bodies
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in November 1993
Yeah, frustrating crowd with their reaction to this match. You want to see guys working this hard get rewarded with a crowd that gets into match as goes on. Just didn't happen here. Ross had a pretty good call on the mic. Action is great and the guys hit all their tag spots. Ricky takes his beating and when he finally gets the tag to Robert it is so disappointing to hear the zero reaction by the fans. Sucky crowd, this still ends up being an excellent tag match. One of the better seen in WWF for the year. -
Knights did not provide much competition for the Harts. Match was too long with half of the guys included not being regulars in WWF. Bret is wearing his pink singlet while rest of Harts are wearing black. Owen gets eliminated by running into Bret on the apron. This all leads to one of my favorite feuds. Owen confronts Bret after the match and we get some shoving. Helen brings the acting with the emotion of seeing her sons not get along.

Michaels has been reinstated. He is claiming to be the only Intercontinental Champion. Stu is wearing a Detroit Pistons jacket backstage. They must have went into the gift shop to get him the Boston Bruins one to wear to ringside since they are in the Garden. Michaels mentions Ross being a fireman and Bruce a substitute teacher.
