[1994-11-19-NWA-World Title Tournament] Chris Candido vs Tracy Smothers
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in November 1994
Final of the NWA tournament. Crowd start to block the camera view again. Smothers suplexes Candido to the outside. Looked unprotected. An approvement on the last match but has issues when they are down the mat cause you just can’t see from the camera view. Both a chain by Candido and Tammy’s hair spray are avoided by Tracey. Smothers does a suplex but I guess it gets reversed as I can’t see other than Tracey’s boots in the air. Candido celebrates with Tammy after.- 7 replies

[1994-11-19-NWA-World Title Tournament] Eddie Gilbert vs Tracy Smothers
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in November 1994
Eddie attacks Smothers before the match starts. They go into the crowd and I can’t see a thing. In the ring for a few minutes but they go back outside again and I can’t see anything once more. There is another ref involved and they do a both men’s shoulders down pinfall. This was bad.- 6 replies

[1994-11-19-NWA-World Title Tournament] Al Snow vs Chris Candido
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in November 1994
Tammy looking very hot. Not a patient crowd as they are already chanting boring only minutes into the match. It looks to be an SMW show because of the personalities involved but it sems to be a different type of crowd. Lots of reversals in the match including many switches on a waistlock attempt. Each guy’s german suplex isn’t too pretty looking. They mess up a leap frog spot. The crowd seemed to get to them early but after that they wrestled better. Candido ends up blocking a powerbomb attempt to win. They shake hands after.- 6 replies

[1994-11-19-SMW-TV] Jim Cornette and Bob Armstrong
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in November 1994
Confrontation with Jim Ross to find out who is the new commissioner of SMW. Cornette thinks that it has been Bob Armstrong all along as the commissioner. Scott Armstrong is the new commissioner. You can understand Cornette not being happy with this. 1994 is the year of the heels being screwed.- 7 replies

Clips of six man action. Christopher using the broom. Scott Bowden trying to use his Florida State helmet. He ends up getting knocked out by Bill Dundee. I probably wouldn’t pick Bowden as my partner. The brawling afterwords probably lasted longer than the actual match. Tommy Rich is trying to warn Bill Dundee that Lawler and Christopher will stab him in the back. He wants him to come to his senses. Check out Dream Machine’s forehead. He wants to call out Dundee to tell him that he was the greatest partner he ever had. Dundee’s belt breaks when he hugs Machine. Dundee can’t be his partner as he has made promises to Lawler already. Machine attacks Dundee. This was pretty obvious. Chaos happens. Gilbert just chocking the hell out of Christopher.

IRS makes his return to yearbook since tax season. He is enforcing penalties on dead people. Penalties stiff. Continuing infractions were dug up. He’s been doing a lot of digging lately. Someone was having fun with this. IRS reposses this poor souls grave. Bret and Davey guests on the Heartbreak Hotel. Shawn asks what it was like to get the Cross Face on but pulls the mic away before Bret can answer. Here is Owen and Mr. Backlund. Mr. Backlund has no kinship to the Hart family. Owen rests a hand on his shoulder which he shrugs off. Backlund has great delivery. Bret thinks Mr. Backlund is from the Lost Generation. Bob would have been cool on that island.

Last couple minutes. Kevin Sullivan tries to hit Hogan with the megaphone but Mr. T stops him. I can’t tell for sure what happens to Sullivan but Hogan pins him. Where’s Dave Sullivan in all this? I hope somewhere with a stake in his heart. Avalance drop on Sting. Kevin Sullivan beating up Mr. T who really has been taking a beating in WCW. Usually celebrities go over at the expense of wrestlers but not Mr. T in WCW. Butcher has the sleeper on Hogan.

[1994-11-16-WCW-Clash of the Champions XXIX] Vader vs Dustin Rhodes
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in November 1994
Dustin takes down Vader and pounds him. Crowd goes crazy at this. Has WCW abandoned the over the top rope rule at this point? Dustin is really taking it to Vader and hits a suplex. Vader retreats to the outside to think things over. Takes just one move for Vader to take over and pound Dustin. Vader does a corner charge splash and Dustin catches him in mid air and slams. Whoa Dustin. Back to back Vader bombs and Dustin kicks out. DDT from the top rope! Bulldog by Rhodes but Race gets involved. Reverse Powerbomb! Dustin was completely game for this one. Damn good match. Dustin has really been strong the later half of 94. Hacksaw shows up. Boo.- 10 replies

[1994-11-15-ECW-TV] Cactus Jack & Mikey Whipwreck vs Public Enemy
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in November 1994
Match in progress. Cactus flies off the stage on to Rocco Rock on a table. In the ring Grunge uses a baseball bat to Mikey to win the tag team titles. Mikey won’t be able to make the next ECW show so he made a call to find Cactus another tag team champion. Cactus can’t trust “him” as it could become a 3-1. Mikey slaps around Cactus. His tag partner will be Kevin Sullivan.- 5 replies

Close up of Chuck Norris' beard. He's going to be at Survivor Series to make sure history doesn't repeat itself. Lawler hosts Owen Hart on the King's Court. I think Burger King business went down as Lawler slowly turned to good guy announcer. Owen is holding the very towel that Skaaland threw in when Backlund lost the WWF title. Well it's not the same towel but it would be cool if they kept stuff like that for their actual Hall of Fame. Owen wants to assure Mr. Backlund that he will not threw the towel in. "Mr. Backlund. I assure you, I promise you. You know I am a man I can trust". Oh, Owen. The whole throwing the towel in by the wrestlers's seconds is actually pretty cool. Bulldog is invited out. Chicken Wing versus Sharpshooter. Owen wants Bret to suffer first before Bulldog throws in the towel. Debut of Aldo Montoya! Oh, that doesn't make it to yearbook.

[1994-11-12-WCW-Saturday Night] Interview: Hulk Hogan
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in November 1994
Hogan is going to press the 600 lb Avalanche into the air and cause Florida's first earthquake. Jimmy Hart is upset about The Butcher's turn against Hogan. There has been talk about Butcher not having a whole lot of athletic ability within the wrestling world. Way to bury your own best friend Hulkster. They plug the six man tage match at the Clash. Mr. T will be the referee. Dude is hard for cash.- 6 replies

[1994-11-12-USWA-TV] Interview: Tommy Rich & Eddie Gilbert
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in November 1994
Rich and Gilbert talk up Bill Dundee’s return to USWA. They take pot shots at the live television crowd. Gilbert with “Heaven don’t want us and Hell is scared of us”. Dave Brown must have been told to let Scott Bowden talk. He does but he still gets dismissive of him at the end of the promo. -
[1994-11-12-WWF-Superstars] Interview: Jim Cornette, Yokozuna & Mr. Fuji
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in November 1994
It is not a casket. It is a box! Cornette plays up the other box match that Yokozuna won at Royal Rumble. Cornette feels there wasn't ten wrestlers getting involved in the match but only to get a closer look. I buy it. Chuck Norris will be special trouble shooter at the Survivor Series match. Cornette, Fuji and Yoko are coming for Undertaker's soul. Vince with the typical hype job for the PPV mentions Undertaker versus Yokozuna in a delayed CASKET MATCH as he is leaving the ring. Cornette and Yokozuna go bezerk at this. Vince's delivery was funny there. -
A blind Sandman says his farwell to ECW. Peaches out and gives Sandman a kiss. Sandman doesn’t care how fat Peaches has got as she is the most important thing to him. Woman out with the excuse me! So this is where Vicki got that. Woman canes Peaches and doesn’t understand why Tod Gordon is all upset about this. Woman threatens to hit Sandman but Tommy Dreamer comes down. Sandman tosses his glasses away and smacks Dreamer in the back of the head. Nice set up. He can see! Woman is pretty awesome in all this. Dreamer shows off the welts on his back. His face is just as messed up. Good promo by Dreamer. You can see why he became an ECW fan favorite.

Vince mentions Randy Savage was unable to come to contract terms with WWF which is why he is not out with him announcing. Amazing that they would actually acknowledge this on TV. Vince seems to be quite pained in making this announcement. Lawler introduces The Kid as the walking pimple for the King's Court. Cue Lawler one liners. They announce The Kid vs. Backlund for next week. Mr. Backlund charges down to the ring. I love how he just appears out of nowhere. Entrance music and video is not going to shock people. Bob takes some of The Kid's kicks which was fun.

Pretty crazy to think that Bret/Owen feud has been going on for almost a year now at this point. Owen gets press slammed to the outside and claims to have broken his arm. Such a small looking building they are in. Bret vs Anvil has me wondering if this is the first time they have faced off. A bit too chinlocky at times. Owen and Neidhart use the Hart Attack on Davey Boy. Nice touch. Lawler gets in his Stu/Helen joke. Smith taps to a camel clutch. Well, not really. Ending isn't the cleanest but Bret gets Neidhart to tap to the sharpshooter. Good match but part of me wanted more out of this.

Double Mask versus Hair match. Barr stirs up the crowd with the swimming motions. Tenay uses Monsoons Pearl Harbor wrestling commentary. Hurricarana on Santo off Barr's shoulders. They hit it better than Ohtani/Benoit. Barr with the frogsplash to pick up the victory in first fall. Octogan with a real cool comeback when Santo was already pinned. They were up against the wall at that point. I've noticed Tirantes is using a much quicker count on his pinfalls than what I have seen in rest of yearbook. Octagon is taken out with a tombstone leaving Santo on his own. Santo kicks out of the superplex/frogsplash combo. They really selling the piledriver on Octogan by having him stretchered out. Barr gets nailed with a piledriver by Blue Panther with referee not looking. Guerrero dominates Santo with some big moves but Santo rolls him up for the victory. Gringos Locos had the match twice in their favor and lost it. Great match that I'm sure satisfield the Lucha fans but that was altered every so slighty in a way to appeal to non Lucha fans since it was PPV match shown in US. I felt the non Lucha fan would understand it better but then again that could be the English commentary so who knows.

New Jack gives us some info on Ghetto Street fight. D-Lo Brown is helping them find weapons that they will bring to the fight. Another message from SMW that they will not be responsible for any injuries inflicted in the street fight. Tammy is very verbally abusing towards Boo Bradley. She is using Boots the Cat as a hostage to get Bradley to do what she wants. Cornette doesn’t want any recurrences of The Bullet if Armstrong is to lose. We get confirmation that if Armstrong loses he is done for good. Armstrong gets Cornette all flustered. Cornette needs to get in shape for Ron Wright so he will be doing some training today. Athletes need some proper nutrition and protein for their workouts. Bedlam shows up with some junk food for the workout. Cornette has some Preparation H and Geritol as suggestions for Ron Wright to get through his owen workouts.

Clips of tag match which has just ended. Everyone looks bloody. Crutches and boots being used. Christopher uses scissors on Gilbert and then hits a piledriver. Fighting continues with Gilbert and Rich briefly having control. Frank Burrell gets hit by Rich and has enough as he drops bombs on both Rich and Gilbert. Tommy’s eye is pretty messed up. Burrell confronts them afterwords in lockeroom which is not a good idea. Eddie Marlin and Randy Hales try to help but get beat up also. Lawler and Christopher make the save.

Camera view is from a bit far away but you can still hear the rings. They finally zoom in which is appreciated. Yuji busts out the knees. He seems to be the better striker and gets Ikeda down for almost a ten count. Ikeda is all fire when he gets back up but Nagata gets him in capture suplex on his head and then taps him out. Very acceptable finish. Good strike based effort between the two.

[1994-10-29-NWC] Cactus Jack vs Sabu (Falls Count Anywhere)
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in October 1994
Announcer requests everyone stay in their seats for safety reasons. Pinfalls count anywhere in the building. A Desert Death Match. Oh my, there are some random old people sitting at a table. Cactus sets his sights on the table and these old people seem to have no idea what they are getting into. One lady is pulled aside at the last second as Cactus suplexes Sabu through the table. Cactus gets on the mic to tell the crowd on what he plans to do to Sabu. Cactus gets his suplex reversed and ends up getting suplexed on the floor. Cactus tries to take some old guy's cane and the old guy won't give it up. This isn't your Philly crowd. They take over a popcorn machine but we can't get a good look from our camera view. Sabu starts crawling over the crowd who scatter. We lose both guys for a few until they end up in a casino. Don't interrupt those gamblers. Finally they get back in the ring. Cactus does the hangman hold in the ropes. Sabu hits Air Sabu when Cactus is still hung in the ropes. The crowd are really getting into this pounding on the mat. I love that the announcer yells to get back to your seats and the crowd do as he says. Sabu wins with a leg drop with chair combo. Not a great match but an overall entertaining experience with the crowd. -
[1994-10-30-AAA-Sin Limite] Blue Panther vs El Mariachi
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in October 1994
Everyone is dressed well for the pre match photo. Blue Panther showing off the neck strength when he is locked in a submission. Various armbar attempts. Mariachi gets the pinfall in first fall though it looked like Panther’s shoulder could have been up. Mariachi continues the aggression in the second fall and attacks the arm again. Back and forth they go. Panther goes through a couple of his own submissions before scoring pin on the second fall. We get a dive to the outside where Mariachi ends up in the front row. Both men struggle to make it back in the ring before a count out. Mariachi is getting the better out of the roll ups as he comes very close a couple times to winning. Panther ends up finishing with a submission. Seemed like that was how the third fall was going to go down with the earlier submissions in the first two falls.- 11 replies

Hey buddies. We all like each other so lets go out and tear the house down and we will all look good in the end. Razor's Edge right away on Shawn but Diesel pulls him out of the ring. Tag champs look to bail but Shawn gets thrown back in the ring. Diesel tosses The Kid around. I see match jumped ahead a bit. Maybe just a commercial break. Hebner could learn something from Chioda about how to count pins. Razor plays the FIP which is kind of surprising with The Kid being involved. It sure is interesting to watch Nash like this when he is putting in the effort. False tag to Kid, Diesel grabs Razor from behind to hold him for the Superkick. You know what happens. Razor makes the tag to The Kid and him and Michaels go at a incredible fast pace. Diesel lies out cold on the apron the whole time. It is like Diesel was the one who should get credit for getting the Superkick over for Michaels. Michaels is surving double teaming from both opponents. Shawn slows things down with a sleeperhold. One the rare holds in the match but it does kind of make sense since he waiting for Diesel to get back to his feet. Diesel stirs from his coma. Super close call when Kid hits a top rope leg drop and Michaels barely gets the shoulder up. Crowd was thinking title change there. Diesel nails The Kid with a big boot and Michaels gets the pinfall. Great match and for one night the tag titles were relevant again in WWF. Michaels and Kid could work a crazy speed together.
