  1. So, Jim Ross is calling Wrestle Kingdom in January. Please tell me I'm not the only one pumped for this? http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=2WoNFO6furg

Wouldn't that just lead to the same complaints we saw for Mark Henry-Ryback? That WWE booked themselves into a corner and neither guy can afford to lose.

Disappointed by the lack of Mercury and Noble in the main event. Perfect fodder for the multi tag.

Someone mentioned a babyface turn for Orton a few pages back. I think I might be the only one here who would be 100% pumped for Orton challenging Lesnar.

I honestly thought Prince Devitt getting signed would be a bigger deal. I haven't seen KENTA since 2007. Does he still hold up? I heard that he kind of fell off after his matches with Bryan.

I'm actually cool with Cena-Lesnar II under the circumstances. The last time was like two years ago and they fucking rocked it then. It's not exactly a match that's been run into the ground like Cena-Orton.
  7. You guys love talking about the dirt in wrestling. :/

Say what you want about Jim Ross, but WWE commentary became shitty when the direction was changed from verbalising what the two guys in the ring were trying to get across to verbalising whatever the storyline between the two wrestlers was going on at the time. The former is what "WWE story telling" truly is. I would say the change took place roughly around 09/2010-ish. The Twitter/App/Network stuff is just advertising. It goes with the territory.

"Synthetic" marijuana is basically bath salts. It's a legitimate reason to keep someone off of the active roster. Um, unless there is a difference between fake weed in the US and New Zealand, you don't know what you're talking about.
  10. You're kidding yourself if you think improvement isn't a huge part of the developmental system. Its the main objective.
  11. Agreed, BP. Minus having Vince in his ear, Mick seemed to enjoy his time doing colour commentary. He has no track record as an agent/producer so I'm guessing it's either that or an on-air authority figure...
  12. I'll probably check out the Hammerstein show due to it actually predominantly featuring New Japan guys wrestling ROH guys, unlike the Toronto show. I'm also more than a little disappointed that Chris Hero isn't on the show. I have an inkling he and Okada could have had a MOTY contender.
  13. Anyone catch the ROH-New Japan show over the weekend?

I'm still pissed the internet put the kibosh on the Tensai/Giant Bernard push with their incessant "Albert" chants. Yes, you were watching wrestling in 98. Congrats. Then I come here and I see posters saying he was held down after pinning both Cena and Punk within the first few months of being back. Until he works anything more than squash matches I think the jury is still out on Rusev. It's always a plus when a guy of his size can move as well as he does, though. And Lana
  15. I'm not aware of any heat he apparently had thrown his way from it but I seem to remember Todd Grisham showing a general lack of knowledge towards pro wrestling, basically confusing the Lucha and Japanese styles on the Benoit dvd extras. This was in like 04 and Todd hadn't Been with WWE for like 6 months by that point. Wrestling fans kind of suck, honestly. Not saying Todd ever grew into anything particularly special and he was clearly just another product of the "don't focus on the in ring product no matter what" philosophy WWE have followed since they took JR off the desk, but I don't think you would see much of a difference if you were to throw Grisham in Sean Mooneys spot 20 years ago.
  16. I would feel shitty complaining if we got a babyface Masters vs. heel Jarrett match out of this, no matter how bad it more than likely turns out. I'm usually not this cynical, but I see the roster basically a being a combination of guys with terrible tattoos and ex WWE guys with way too much baggage (Carlito, Zeke Jackson, etc.)
  17. Do guys under developmental contracts have the same clause in their contracts?

Basically what CM Funk said. And that WWE turned Bryan back AS SOON as they thought the crowd might grow indifferent towards him with Wyatt stuff, while making Bray in the process.
  19. On that note, I'll never understand how Delirious never got a shot in WWE.Honestly, if they could turn the Sheepherders into the Bushwhackers, I could totally see The Briscoes being turned into an act marketed towards kids. And no I'm not high.
  20. As the great Twitter Punk once said: https://twitter.com/iamlordbennett/status/259775717632520192
  21. Also I would say a younger guy like Seiya Sanada would have a better shot of getting over in WWE than KENTA.
  22. Sin Cara struggled a lot with adapting to the WWE style. Check out his earlier stuff on the main roster. I'm sure his shitty attitude only compounded that.
  23. I've thought this comparison before and I don't claim to have an in-depth view of the Lucha style, but from what I've seen from their modern incarnations the WWE style of wrestling has got to be a far easier to adapt to for guys coming from the Japanese style than it would be for guys coming straight out of CMLL or AAA, right? As I said I'm not an expert but the Lucha style just seems totally different from anything I've seen anywhere else. Sin Cara coming over without spending any time in FCW was a huge mistake in retrospect. They did acknowledge his stardom in Mexico though.
  24. If you've been the main drawing card for shows with attendances close to a WrestleMania, you are absolutely going to get a pretty decent spot on the roster. The "WWE doesn't give a shit about your past accomplishments" rule is true to a certain degree but they aren't blind. Okada going to WWE would be a pretty big deal. The guy is a stud and is only going to get better at 26 years of age.

The "this is depressing" comments are stemming purely from those select few who think Triple H is boring, right? Just making sure if it's an opinion I need to take seriously or not.
