  1. My guess is Brothers of a Destruction-Wyatt Family for Survivor Series. Miz doesn't have much to do with it.
  2. They had sex and had a baby named Fandango who sucks Is that you, Corny?

The very real possibility of an Antonio Cesaro vs Goldust match, as well as multiple Real Americans-Rhodes Family matches potentially taking place some time in the nearish future has all of a sudden dawned on me. I'm not planning on missing Raw or Main Event soon.
  4. Jack Gallagher, Noam Darr and Dave Taylor are a big enough draw for me to watch regularly. Colt Cabana makes sense too.

I'm going to lose it if the Internet starts pining for a return to the brand split after a decade of whining about it.
  7. Surprised they didn't open the show with Ziggler-Ambrose. Kind of seems like a no brainer.
  8. Johnny's wrong. Why?

The Bulldogs comparison wasn't really meant as a compliment. Davey's best performances were usually carry jobs and Dynamite is largely responsible for why guys like Davey Richards are in the Indy limelight today. The term "technical wrestler" doesn't mean anything to me. Ted Dibiase had like 5 moves and received the tag. What the fuck even is a technical wrestler?

So apparently Davey Richards and Eddie Edwards are getting top reviews at the latest WWE tryout. Not really a fan but I suppose they have enough appeal to be a modern day British Bulldogs.

Agreed, although I think that's putting all their eggs into one basket. I could be wrong but I see Survivor Series shaping up as Punk-Orton for the WWE title and Bryan/Henry/Big Show/Ziggler/whoever vs The Shield/Triple H/Maddox. Someone has to get beaten first at the end of the day.
  12. Great booking by the team at PWO. Make every babyface like Stone Cold.

Fandango's character work can't be faulted and he has certainly connected. Expectations may have been raised due the push around Mania time, but to say he's an effective mid-card heel can't be too much of a stretch?

Sooner rather than later I think everyone is going to learn that Johnny Curtis/Fandango is a guy who worked hard for years and that he deserves the spot he is in now.
  15. If the death of TNA leads to a comprehensive Kurt Angle dvd and the 2 or 3 guys on their roster who have upside learn how to work in developmental then I'm cool with never seeing that show ever again.
  16. Or that people didn't find it a terribly compelling post. :/ Probably. How is "he wouldn't have been pushed because he's chubby and worked in ROH" a compelling and well thought out argument though? There were already talented guys with similar builds who had main-evented WrestleMania just in the previous decade and the small group of his contemporaries who didn't make it were released mostly for good reason (unless someone wants to make the case for why Brian Kendrick, Kaval and Paul London should have been mega stars).
  17. So people are probably a going to ignore my above post. I'm genuinly interested as your view seems astoundlingly inaccurate. If you look at the list of guys signed since 2003-ish till now,, popular Indy wrestlers have mostly done VERY well for themselves in WWE. What indication is there that Joe wouldnt have been successful if he signed with them instead of TNA? Really not trying to be confrontational or patronising, but that stance doesn't make sense to me at all and it's something that I've read over a thousand times on message boards.

I had an inkling Paul E and Dirty Dutch had joined the creative team! Where did you read this?
  19. History shows that like 90% of the time WWE always try to get their moneys worth out of the top Indy names they sign. With the exception of Cabana, I don't see how anyone was mistreated: Kendrick, Low-Ki and London were all pushed and later released for justifiable reasons. Everyone else, from Punk, Bryan, Ambrose, Cesaro, Bourne (despite the wellness stuff and being on a Ken Kennedy level of injury proneness) and Rollins have done well for themselves without any signs of slowing down, so I'm not sure how someone could even make a case for why guys like Ohno, Generico, Neville, Callihan, Graves etc. wont reach their respective potential. Having a succesul Indy career is an advantage in WWE, not a detriment. The proof is in the pudding really. Joe unequivocally would have been a star from my view.
  20. No, he just sucked. Joe's natural body type is kind of chubby, while Harris simply got fat. He deserved to be buried and fired. Awful example. Awful.
  21. Taz was in his mid thirties and had a bad neck when WWF picked him up. I don't think his ring work or that he looked like a dweeb standing next to Steve Austin helped him either. And Joe blows Taz out of water in terms of like everything except interviews. I could totally see Samoa Joe vs Shawn Michaels in 2006. Edit: why are people talking about Chris Harris when A. he sucked, and B. showed up on the main roster in the worst shape of his life? Guy deserved what he got.
  22. I have to agree. There have been way too many horrendous TNA shows I've sat through just to see Jeff Jarrett carry some shmuck to their career match.
  23. Seems like a damned if he does, damned if he doesn't situation then. No one gets to just main event mania or summerslam without a track record. MITB also seems like a weird example considering what happened with Punk.
