  1. Also, Sting-HHH is much better than Sting-Taker in my opinion. If they book this angle right it could be fun. I mean it's annoying because it's too old guys, but things could be much worse. I thought the worst thing about the end was Dolph and Rollins selling for way too long.
  2. On the Sting thing, I didn't mind it. I liked it okay. I'm a Sting mark so I won't complain. Orton coming out would have been better. Sting-HHH at Mania sounds annoying, but for one night this was fun.
  3. That shit was a total blast. What a fun hour. There were parts I didn't like, but it was pretty enjoyable overall.
  4. Wise booking there as another long Diva's match is simply unacceptable after the first one.
  5. Really good, stiff brawl until the Sports Entertainment Bray Wyatt bullshit.
  6. My God that match was long. Paige's German bump was crazy though.
  7. This crowd is great. That match was tons of fun. There was some bad stuff in it, but I enjoyed it overall and the booking was solid. Mizdow is great.
  8. That segment was hilarious.
  9. The pre-show matches were average. Just saying that in case someone was interested. Oh, and Cesaro lost again.

Well, I'm a die hard Cowboys fan, so that will be on. We're planning to put up two TVs tonight.
  11. I hope they add a third SS tag too. There's quite a few people (not just the typical guys who don't make PPVs) with nothing to do if they don't. I imagine we'll have at least one "big" surprise tonight. This card looks terrible on paper. I expect the worst, so it can only get better once it starts.
  12. It should be pointed out that oftentimes heels will play possum on the ropes waiting to duck or catch Rey on the 619. That changes things I think. At least sometimes.
  13. I believe it was 9/25 I watched. There's an unnecessary ref bump that did detract from it I thought. I still thought it was a great match.
  14. I agree with OJ on the terminology there. That's how I always rank matches. That's basically the format I have in place of star ratings. On a more relevant note, I've watched 50 Rey singles matches against 50 different opponents in the last few weeks. I'll post my reviews soon, but he's shown he can work well with a number of differnt opponents. The standout matches I watched were the Tajiri match from Sep 03, the Brock match from Dec 03, the Noble match from Velocity 04, the Finlay match from Nov 07, the Bourne match from Oct 08, the second Henry match from Jan 06, the Bastista match from Dec 09, the Swagger 2/3 Falls from July 10, an MVP match from Nov 07, and a Kidman match from Mar 99. I also want to point out that he had a great TV match with Mr. Kennedy of all people in Nov 07 the same month of the great Finlay and MVP matches. I also saw the Psicosis match from Bash at the Beach 96 which I think isn't as good this time around, but still a great showcase, a really good Del Rio match from 10, and a Rey's an elite seller for sure. One of the greatest ever at it. In a number of the matches I watched he was able to build sympathy and liven up a crowd when at first they were disinterested or not that invested in the match. He has great offense and has an uncanny ability to find smart and creative ways to get on offense. Rey's always got a gameplan, if not he's thinking during the match to find ways to not only survive but to win. He's a tremendous wrestler and certainly still a top 10 candidate in my book.
  15. Hansen, Flair, Funk, Misawa, Kawada, Casas, Rey, Jumbo, Tenryu, Satanico, Dandy, El Hijo Del Santo, and Bock right now. I have a long way to go. Fuck, I forgot Buddy. Buddy is definitely in contention.
  16. Rey's 2003 was a step down from the freshness of the Smackdown Six era. Through no fault of his own, his matches began to seem spottier and more convoluted without the support of the previous year's booking. I watched some of the other bouts that Meltzer rated and there were only a few highlights to Rey's year. Winning the Cruiserweight title in front of his family was a nice moment, and he had two memorable spots -- an Asai moonsault in one of the WGTT matches and his tope against Taijiri during their Smackdown bout -- but none of the matches were great. I was looking forward to the Taijri bouts but they were more fun than good. The best bout was probably the match against Lesnar since it was an interesting cat vs. mouse narrative, but overall a down year I actually love the Tajiri and Hardy title switches. I liked Tajiri working over Rey's ribs a lot. I love the Brock match too. It's a great big man vs. little man match. There's also an A-Train sprint that's about three minutes that's one of the better three or four minute matches I've seen. The Angle match from SD is very good, but not quite as good as I remembered it.
  17. It's amazing that Mark Henry has had the moniker of "Hall of Pain" and "Sexual Chocolate" in his career. That's got to be one of the most extreme differences in character and booking of one wrestler ever.
  18. Great show. Lol at Dylan attempting to big boy me via online internet podcast. Anyways, this felt like a show that could have gone on two more hours. There's a lot to talk about with Cena. Too bad Dave's bladder got the best of him.
  19. I'll be a low voter on a lot of Joshi workers, but I'm guessing some people won't even have them on their list. I doubt I'll be a low voter on the All-Japan guys. They will do well on my ballot, but there's tendencies in the style that drive me insane so that will affect my rating of them some.
  20. Good question. I'm not sure Dory Funk Jr. will make my list. I also really hate Manami Toyota. She drives me nuts. She still might make my list, but very low.

Raw was okay tonight. Orton going nuts was fun. It's something different. Steph's always good for cutting promos. Rollins hair is just awful. I mean it's really bad. That might explain 50% of the reason why I dislike him. The Henry turn was decent in theory, but poor in execution. Show's "hard" tag was similar to Nick Patrick's "fast count" at Starrcade 97. Mark's a bitch for whining about it. I did like Henry trash talking at the end though. Paige was amusing on commentary in the AJ-Fox match. The match itself was nothing. Lawler protecting Alicia was funny though. Reigns' promo wasn't any good. The Cena-Steph-HHH segment was too long. I don't really understand the situation either. They just made some shit up to pass the time before Brock returns from ice fishing. No way he misses the grand opening of ice fishing season. Mizdow was pretty funny again. I really want them to lose a match where Mizdow is too busy "acting" which results in Miz losing. That shit would be great. The match itself was middling. Ryback returning was neat. He got a pretty decent response too. Dylan spoiled me with the Ryback returning to crush Rusev stuff though. Still, I hope they build to a match between those two. The Ambrose segment didn't do anything for me. I feel bad for Cesaro. The Bray promo was more forced "speaking in riddles" bullshit. The thing with Bray is he's trying to speak in riddles because that's probably what he's been told to do. It's not organic at all. It's too corny for my tastes. The Bellas segment was tame compared to what I thought they'd subject us to. I didn't mind it. It was just boring. Kane-Dolph was really boring. Kane sucks. Dolph isn't good enough to carry him. It's that simple. I skipped the Hogan promo. Cena-Rollins far exceeded my expectations to the point I thought it was actually a very good TV match. Rollins was great in it. Like actually really good and maybe better than Cena. I liked that he sold the ribs after every move whether he was doing the offense or on defense. The near falls were more spaced out and less video gamey. I loved the new stooges getting involved. I enjoyed the match a good bit. The closing was fun, but kind of unnecessary. I didn't really understand why the whole roster ran to the ring to brawl. What for? My DVR cut off right before the supposed staredown and taunting between Cena and The Authority. I can see there being some good matches at Survivor Series, but the booking doesn't make any sense.
  22. Clown's got to do more interviews with WWE talent so he must love this show!
  23. It depends on what someone thinks is good in pro wrestling. If you like forced reincarnations of Mick Foley falling off a cage, that's fine. That's not my thing. Pro wrestling isn't objective. Nothing is objectively good about an entertainment show. And yes, please tell us what you enjoyed about the show. Why did you like it? Why did you think it was a good show instead of a bad show?
  24. I think it's brave to say anything so subjective as a professional wrestling show to be self-evidently awesome, or bad, or whatever.
  25. It's okay to like that show. I didn't. I don't see what's so offensive about disliking this show.
