  1. Fun and short segment here. Virgil sprinting backstage after Roberts emptied the bag was entertaining. I didn't see anything racist about this at all unless there is some kind of stereotype that I'm not aware of.
  2. I miss the PPV updates they used to do like this. They were always effective for hyping the event. Kind of strange that they gave Hercules a promo here.
  3. Pretty much your typical Hogan promo, but talking about eliminating his opponents by posing makes this an entertaining watch. Some early build for Hogan/Warrior here as well.
  4. I actually preferred the previous two AJPW tag matches to this one. I feel like the other two were more put together as a match, but I will give this one credit as being the most heated. Tenryu was all fired up here and entertaining to watch, but the match just seemed to fall a little flat to me.
  5. Solid match here, but much like the Arn/Muta match it didn't really stand out for me. Both men do a good job of targeting a body part with Arn going after the arm and Sawyer targeting the back. Disappointing finish, but it does its job of building up the future 6-man tag.
  6. This is bizarre to watch when you see how great Cactus becomes later. Cactus just looks nervous here and is faking a Southern accent. Cactus is also not wearing a shirt here, which is strange to see, and he says that onions taste like owl. Really strange, but interesting to watch in retrospect.
  7. Really fun match here. Billy Joe and Dundee do some good comedy spots with Billy Joe doing a great job at playing the stooge. The breakdown of the face team was great at the end. The heels cheering on the Embry/Adams brawl and then taking advantage to beat down Dundee was awesome. USWA has been a real treat on this set.
  8. This match had its moments for the most part it was pretty dull. Maeda seemed to be in control for most of this match, but Takada was able to throw him off his game when he gets a shot to Maeda's eye that impairs his vision. Good finish which reasonably allows a rematch. Awesome leg capture suplex in this as well.
  9. I dug this match. I don't consider myself a fan of shoot-style, but I will watch it on occasion. Enjoyable stuff here with some nice looking strikes and matwork. Good way to finish the first disc with something different. I can't wait to watch the rest of 1990 as I am loving this so far.
  10. This match was a ton of fun. This was a David vs Goliath style match worked to perfection. I had no problem with the finish as it put the point across that one mistake can be lethal when you are going against a much larger team.
  11. This reminds me of 2001 when there was a dispute with DirecTV so I missed No Mercy and Survivor Series; those were some hard times. Good thing the fans prevented this from happening with their 1990 Royal Rumble.
  12. I loved this match! They start things off with Tiger Mask & Jumbo working over Fuyuki's leg. Things get really heated when Fuyuki is able to tag in Tenryu. Tiger Mask pisses Tenryu off with his martial arts kicks and Tenryu just unloads on him and beats the shit out of him. The finishing stretch saw Jumbo going back to Fuyuki's leg and locking on a half crab. In a creative finish Tenryu tries to break up the hold with a lariat but it just causes Jumbo to lean back and put more pressure on the hold to cause Fuyuki to tap. Brilliant match.
  13. Jim Ross seemed to really be putting over Lee Scott for some reason. This did a good job of showing Cactus as a mad man that is a threat in the ring. The match isn't really that good, but it was fun to watch.
  14. Fun segment here. Cornette doesn't think very highly of the scheduled Flair/Sting match since Sting is now in the Horsemen. Flair turns Woman down but she reveals that in 1990 she plans to rule the Horsemen and to rule wrestling.
  15. This was hilarious. Some kid tells Lawler to wear a shirt because his armpits stink and Lawler makes fun of the kid for being fat. Just pure fun.
  16. Another awesome promo from the USWA. You have Lawler's awesome put-downs, Chris Champion's hair, and Steve Austin pulling out of the match to make room for the superstar that is King Cobra.
  17. Another great promo by Lawler here who is wearing an awful looking Browns jacket. The cell phone bit was cheesy but entertaining nonetheless. The highlight of this for me was Lawler calling Steve Austin a steroid freak. Al
  18. Billy Joe Travis is featured here so I am loving this. Anybody planning on making a Billy Travis comp? If so you can take my money now. Great promos and video to set up a match that I would pay to see. USWA has been absolutely great so far on this set.
  19. Decent enough tv main event but I didn't find it to be anything special. Ross calling Muta "the oriental man" was a bit bizarre to hear. Cornette mentioned on commentary how Sting wouldn't fit in with the Horsemen while Ross argued otherwise. Looks like Corny was right here.
  20. Interesting segment here with two greats on the mic. These two actually make the Norman the Lunatic angle interesting which is no easy task.
  21. Excellent match here and my favorite on the set so far. Both guys really bring it here as Eaton proves he can go as a singles wrestler and Flair shows how awesome he can be as a face. This is a PPV main event level match.
  22. Good promo here to basically hype the Rumble. Some early work here to build up the eventual mixed tag match at Mania that nobody wanted to see. It's still disappointing to see Savage stuck in the midcard.
  23. Sting is acting very excited to be in the Horsemen here. Flair and Arn do great babyface promo work here while Ole can't help but look like a scummy heel. Good work by Arn here to mention that people are surprised to
  24. Scott really looked out of place here. Not only was he the only one not wearing a suit, but he was fidgeting around like he was nervous and was prompted by Apter to thank the fans. Great work by Flair here to put the award over.
  25. To start the year off, Sting is invited to become the newest member of the Horsemen. Pretty basic promo here and we all know this won't turn out well for Sting. I would actually rate Arn as being the best in this promo.
