  1. I would be fine with any combination of Briscoes, Steiners, & Bulldogs.

So I haven't been able to get around to watching Raw until now. Does anybody know what was up with the Jericho/Miz/Barrett/Maddox segment? That was just horrible and awkward, even Lawler and Cole were shitting on it. Also, why was this included on the Hulu version of Raw and Daniel Bryan vs Dolph Ziggler was cut out?
  3. Don't know who that is so ill 2nd that match lol I will go ahead and 3rd that match to see if we can revive this thread. Here's one that more people can contribute to: Mick Foley I will go with Cactus Jack vs HHH from Royal Rumble 2000

What I don't understand about Fandango is how anybody could possibly think it could be successful. The gimmick just seems tailor made for somebody that will just flounder around the bottom. I feel bad for Johnny Curtis and I've never really seen much of his work. I know from his appearance on the AOW podcast that he was excited about debuting on SmackDown after NXT but that just went nowhere.
  5. Horrendous segment here. This period in 1995 was just a terrible moment for wrestling in the US. The block of ice containing The Yeti was introduced here. This whole thing was just terribly cartoony and defines wrestlecrap.
  6. This match is pretty boring. 75% of the match is Davey Boy chop blocking and dropping elbows on Diesel's legs while the crowd sits there and doesn't give a shit. This match capped off a lame PPV that I thought was actually off to a good start with the first two matches.
  7. This was a really fun segment leading into the match, and the match clips were enjoyable as well. They took some nasty looking bumps in this match and I don't know how Mikey didn't break any ribs with some of those shots with the guard rail.
  8. I agree that writers are not necessary. Wrestling was great for years without writers and I would most certainly say that much of those promos were better than what we have in the current era of writers. I think one of the key issues with writers, is that it makes it more difficult for the guy giving the promo. If it is something that a guy comes up with on their own it is easier for them to throw their emotions and true feelings into the promo. I'm not sure if the example that Russo gives of the guy in TNA being lost without a script is bs, but I could totally see it as being true. Since guys have been given scripts for their promos for so long I can justifiably see many of them becoming reliant on it. On a side note: I haven't watched that Russo shoot, but I agree 100% that many guys are concentrating on moves more than their personalities these days. I would even go so far as to say that the concentration on moves is not only detrimental to the characters, but to the matches themselves. Guys are concentrating too much on high spots and false finishes that the match has absolutely no sense of direction. Just watch any Davey Richards match if you want an example.

El Generico has debuted in NXT without the mask and is now going by his real name, Rami Sebei. I've seen a lot of the indie fans complaining about this, but I don't see it as that big of a deal. I don't think the El Generico gimmick seemed like something that WWE would be able to get behind anyways.
  10. Perhaps they remove all censoring of the term "WWF"? I'm hoping that they remove the blurring of the scratch logo for 14 and 15.
  11. Seems legit. It looks like cover art is shown from Wal-Mart's website and they have been collected here. http://www.wwedvdnews.com/cover-art-wrestl...releases/36422/
  12. Don Muraco was the first one that came to mind for me. He had a pretty long run in the WWF from 81-88 and held the Intercontinental Championship twice to boot. All of that despite the fact that I have always found him just incredibly boring to watch. I'm sure there are worst offenders but Muraco is who comes to mind for me at the moment. That dude is the cure for insomnia.
  13. This was a great match, as was the entire Doink/Perfect series. I still love the original heel Doink and I consider it one of my favorite gimmicks. Unfortunately, it seems that the annoying comedy face Doink is what most people seem to remember.
  14. How can Hogan defend the championship with a broken leg? I think the end result for the WWF would end up being the same due to Vince's business strategy. However, what I'm wondering is how much credibility Hogan would lose and what kind of push he would have if any when he heals from the injury.

    Kamala

For what it's worth, I really enjoyed the gimmick as a child, but I would quickly get bored with his matches. Kamala was a horrible worker, but I don't see anything wrong with his gimmick as I personally don't see how it is offensive. In fact, I would rate Kamala near the top as far as over the top gimmicks go. He was memorable and he was able to make a career out of it, I can't deny the success of that. Still, he's a horrible worker.
  16. That sounds awesome. I didn't even realize Chris Marvel still wrestled or that he even came back to wrestling after his leg broke. His leg breaking was absolutely sick too, his leg was rotated 180 degrees. Anyways, back to Steve Corino. I was a fan of his during his ECW run but I kind of soured on him after he gained weight and it seemed to me that he wasn't as interested in wrestling post-2003 after his feud with Homicide seemed to be finished. I will need to revisit his ECW work as I haven't watched any of that in quite some time.

    Raven

Above all else I think Raven was a great character. At the time I was a major Raven fan, but going back and rewatching some of his stuff I don't see what was really that great about him. His ring work wasn't anything to write about and I think he is overrated as a promo guy. I think that most of his promos end up being too long-winded and it seemed to me that he never got his point across at times. One issue I noticed with the CM Punk ROH feud is that he had promos where he would recycle lines from previous promos he gave during the feud. Given all that, I will admit that his run with the Hardcore title in 2001 is underrated.
  18. Easy vote for me. I definitely have to go with Sid. I loved him during his run and I always thought his squashes and promos were great. I always hated Goldberg, in fact he was the reason why I stopped watching WWE in 2003.
  19. I third this. How about Daniel Bryan/Bryan Danielson. My vote goes to his match against Takeshi Morishima from ROH Manhattan Mayhem II.
  20. I second this.
  21. I will second the match against Mysterio from Havoc 97.
  22. I second this.
  23. I have to say this is definitely the best bullrope/strap match that I've ever seen. I don't think anyone else was able to catch the drama and struggle to touch the four corners to win the match quite like Colon and Hansen did here. This match was brutal with both guys just beating the piss out of each other with the cow bell. One thing that I didn't see mentioned in the other reviews was the crowd. The crowd was fantastic for this match. They were into everything and I really think they helped in elevating this match to the next level. I've never really been into Puerto Rico, but after watching this I definitely want to see the other matches in the Hansen/Colon feud.
  24. From looking at a a review from PWG's Threemendous III: Match 4: Eddie Edwards vs Brian Cage - Edwards bumps on the apron from a discus clothesline Match 5: Kevin Steen vs Willie Mack - Steen powerbombs Willie Mack onto the apron Match 6: Drake Younger vs B-Boy - Drake hits a Michinoku Driver on the apron Match 7: Michael Elgin vs Sami Callihan - Elgin catches Sami after a suicide dive attempt and from there drops him onto the apron twice Main Event: SSB vs Future Shock vs Young Bucks - Player Dos double stomps Matt Jackson on the ring apron - Kyle O'Reilly backdrops Nick Jackson on the apron - Matt Jackson hits Kyle O'Reilly with a DDT on the apron
  25. One thing that I absolutely hate about indie wrestling these days is the over abundance of moves done on the ring apron. It especially drives me nuts when several matches on the same card will use this same spot. I think PWG is biggest culprit of this.
