  1. HBK is challenging for title at Survivor Series, but there's no angle here setting it up. Jannetty shows up and HBK sees him in the mirror in a great bit of production. Jannetty lays him out and he breaks the mirror over Sherri's head. Pretty hardcore, super angle.
  2. Bearer promo from Undertaker's workspace, prepping for coffin match at Survivor Series. No one ever dropped the word "coffin" quite like the lead heel in Bad Boys 2. Loved that guy.
  3. Flair/Ramon promo for Survivor Series main event. Flair says he'll be champ a 3rd time. Was his exit already planned at this point?
  4. Bam Bam shouldn't talk. He's coming. Still a great look.
  5. Too bad we didn't get the Headshrinkers here as I didn't remember that. Somehow Jimmy Hart could wear those spray-on jackets and not look like a joke. Dibiase wins clean with the Million Dollar Dream on Earthquake. Nasty Boys interrupt post-match interview with Hart and give him the armpit rub before throwing him on Money Inc.
  6. Han with a nice spinning backfist knockdown before they can even ring the bell, but the pace didn't hold up as they went long here. Even though this was stretched too long, there's something about Han where you just can't take your eyes off of him, no matter how simply what he's doing is in theory. Whether its footwork on defense, or creative dropkicks or submissions, the guy is as compelling as they come. This felt like a total fluke finish. Is there more to this I'm not aware of? ***1/4
  7. I still vividly remember the Jake/Rude angle even though I was 7 or 8 at the time. Felt completely different from everything else going on on TV at the time.

  9. I'm almost done with this episode and just wanted to give you guys a shout for putting together such entertaining, easy to listen to discussions. Its a great back and forth without anyone ever being talked over or going on extended monologues, just fantastic chemistry. Tag team of the year!

  11. That's how I always heard it as well.
  12. Thanks for the heads up Rovert. Will Thursday's show be an interview format or just Austin riffing and just being non-PG for an hour?

  14. I actually strongly prefer loading the mp3 into a playlist, especially for longer podcasts, because if you need to charge / sync your iphone before you finish it, ituns will mark the podcast as listened to and then it won't show up the next time you go to it. Much easier to have the mp3.
  15. Everyone go home. We have a winner. I remain so far beyond in my podcast listening. Maybe if traffic sucks this week I'll plow through more.
  16. Their work stateside was a real disappointment and exposed them for the reasons Dylan highlighted. I actually enjoyed the first Sabu/RVD tags, but haven't watched them in years and kind of expect they wouldn't hold up very well. I know 5/25/92 gets all the love, but if you put it on mute, the Footloose matches and 2/92 vs. Kawada & Kikuchi are arguably just as great.

  18. That required a Konnan run in to drop a hot "BOOM!"

  22. I forgot how big Jake was. Sting with a nice spot jumping around the pole and climbing for the glove. Cactus brings Jake his snake, but Sting nails him and the snake bites Jake allowing Sting to win. Creepy as hell and Jake bleeds a good deal.
  23. Vader won a title that Paul E somehow facilitated, before Madusa is out to confront him. He calls her a hooker, fires her and she attacks him. Paul E was awesome here, spelling out fired and going about as strong a chauvanist heel as you can.
  24. This had a lot of bright spots -- Dustin & Williams working together early, Windham being sneaky quick and agile for a guy his size, and Dustin's offense following the hot tag. Unfortunately these moments were built around an unnecessarily long match. Would've been a lot better with 10-12 minutes chopped off and a finish. **3/4
  25. How about the ECW straw hat in the first row? I enjoyed Pillman's work as a heel quite a bit here, even this early. Not as strong as the tag on main event, but a solid undercard match. Steamboat's offense when working as a methodical technician versus rapid fire intensity is night and day. When he's motivated on that side of the ball its a hell of a show. **3/4
