That's how I always heard it as well.

Thanks for the heads up Rovert. Will Thursday's show be an interview format or just Austin riffing and just being non-PG for an hour?

I actually strongly prefer loading the mp3 into a playlist, especially for longer podcasts, because if you need to charge / sync your iphone before you finish it, ituns will mark the podcast as listened to and then it won't show up the next time you go to it. Much easier to have the mp3.

Everyone go home. We have a winner. I remain so far beyond in my podcast listening. Maybe if traffic sucks this week I'll plow through more.

Their work stateside was a real disappointment and exposed them for the reasons Dylan highlighted. I actually enjoyed the first Sabu/RVD tags, but haven't watched them in years and kind of expect they wouldn't hold up very well. I know 5/25/92 gets all the love, but if you put it on mute, the Footloose matches and 2/92 vs. Kawada & Kikuchi are arguably just as great.

I forgot how big Jake was. Sting with a nice spot jumping around the pole and climbing for the glove. Cactus brings Jake his snake, but Sting nails him and the snake bites Jake allowing Sting to win. Creepy as hell and Jake bleeds a good deal.

[1992-10-25-WCW-Halloween Havoc] Paul E. Dangerously and Madusa
WingedEagle replied to Loss's topic in October 1992
Vader won a title that Paul E somehow facilitated, before Madusa is out to confront him. He calls her a hooker, fires her and she attacks him. Paul E was awesome here, spelling out fired and going about as strong a chauvanist heel as you can.- 10 replies

This had a lot of bright spots -- Dustin & Williams working together early, Windham being sneaky quick and agile for a guy his size, and Dustin's offense following the hot tag. Unfortunately these moments were built around an unnecessarily long match. Would've been a lot better with 10-12 minutes chopped off and a finish. **3/4

[1992-10-25-WCW-Halloween Havoc] Ricky Steamboat vs Brian Pillman
WingedEagle replied to Loss's topic in October 1992
How about the ECW straw hat in the first row? I enjoyed Pillman's work as a heel quite a bit here, even this early. Not as strong as the tag on main event, but a solid undercard match. Steamboat's offense when working as a methodical technician versus rapid fire intensity is night and day. When he's motivated on that side of the ball its a hell of a show. **3/4- 8 replies

The debut of the not quite yet Hollywood Blondes. Austin's work as a heel is so much better and more focused than than earlier in the year. Douglas/Steamboat work very well together with some nice double teams early on, while Pillman is such a natural heel. Good formulaic tag with alternating FIPs and basic heel tactics. Pillman throws Douglas over the top for a DQ. The inconclusive finish is fine given this was going to be an extended feud, evne if they didn't know it yet.. ***1/4

[1992-10-24-SMW-TV] Rock & Roll Express vs Heavenly Bodies
WingedEagle replied to Loss's topic in October 1992
This was a great angle and performance by Morton. Match itself was fine, but but from start to finish this probably made for a great episode of television while building the feud. **3/4- 9 replies

Smothers talks about a big contract in WCW, then the corporate execs telling their team to be less redneck. Says theyre're not pistols from Cheyenne, WY. Bob Armstrong brought him to SMW. American by birth, Southern by the grace of god.

[1992-10-24-USWA-TV] The Moondogs and Jerry Lawler and Eddie Gilbert
WingedEagle replied to Loss's topic in October 1992
Moondogs & Lee out for a brawl in the ring with a couple jobbers before Eddie Gilbert, Lawler & Jarrett are out to attack Moondogs and a masked man. Adding Gilbert to the mix certainly freshens it up a bit. Eddie Marlin says Gilbert will now be in 6 man tags with Lawler & Jarrett. Then a tag match w/ Lawler/Jarrett vs. Scorpion & someone. Moondogs attack right away, and Eddie is out for the save with a fire extinguisher. -
[1992-10-24-USWA-TV] Interview: Jerry Lawler & Jeff Jarrett
WingedEagle replied to Loss's topic in October 1992
Todd Champion is there with some title belt, which isn't a good look for Lawler & Jarrett. Clips of Moondogs & Lee vs. Lawler/Jarrett where JYD apparently no showed so Doug Gilbert stepped in and was injured with a bone shot. -
[1992-10-24-USWA-TV] Brian Christopher vs Danny Davis
WingedEagle replied to Loss's topic in October 1992
Promo apparently setting up a Chicken challenge. Christopher is a hell of a whiny heel. There's a place for him as an undercard heel. Loser takes a dozen eggs to the face. Decent studio match where crowd sounds more into it than it looks. Davis wins and ringside kids love it. Then Davis & 11 fans crack eggs on Christopher's head. Christopher challenges Davis to a LLT match next week. Not great TV.
