  1. Nope. Nelly Furtado.
  2. Yeah, hasn't it been a struggle to fit even just seven or eight matches in a four hour event?
  3. He's the most jacked person in the world!!
  4. Who is the new Pat Patterson? He should...take a seat for a few decades.
  5. Legit surprised there's no garbage being thrown into the ring
  6. There is some amount of beauty in how out of touch these clowns are
  7. Yep, it's not even like they made it look like he slipped or something. Just a simple push by Bray after a few minutes of ring time. Did Stardust last longer?
  8. whaaaaaaa
  9. Current viewing: Mostly via the roku stuck in my living room. Have a Roku in the bedroom, but it's a smaller tv and no HD (only one HDMI port and I opted to use it for the cable box), so that only gets the occasional watch. Once in a while on the phone while doing dishes or shaving. Only recently got an ipad and watching the network through that while having football on the tv worked well. Had a 360 for the first few months of the network, but finally got rid of it when I got deals on the stick and a blu ray player Thanksgiving week. Seeing WWE give away that same stick to new subscribers only days later was pretty frustrating, but not much I could do about it.

  11. Is the video somewhere on the ppv? Fast forwarded to this match on the network, but no pre match hype video, just Buffer.
  12. How long is that 1998 Ted Turner interview? Ninety seconds?

  14. What does this mean?
  15. Born in '81... 1990-1993. Regular viewer of WWF syndicated programming. Not sure I saw a ppv live other than attending (Summerslam 91 - still never asked my dad what the hell he thought after attending a professional wrestling wedding with his ten year old son). Probably watched a bunch of ppvs on tape from Captain Video. 1993-1998. No wrestling for no real reason, just grew out of it. My big mid 90s pop culture regrets are missing out on ECW and Mr. Show. For as much tv as I watched in the 90s, I just never came across them or, if I did, they didn't grab me. 1998-2000. High school friends had wcw vs. nwo: world tour for n64. Played that a lot in the spring of 1998. A ton of wrestlers I grew up watching were in it and we started watching Nitro. Soon started watching Raw, flipped between the two for a few months, and then was exclusive WWF viewer beginning in early '99. Continued watching with new friends when I went to college in fall of '99. We attended the ppv in Philly in September 2000, but Raw moved to TNN the following night, our college didn't get the channel and I was out. 2000-?? My regular message board was wrestling-based, so I knew generally what was going on through about 2004. Spent the first half of 2005 in school in London by myself and watched a lot of Smackdown. After that, though, 2005-10 is a complete blur, with just a few random memories/insights (brand split was still horrible, HBK/Hogan at Summerslam, Umaga and Khali were things, CM Punk was probably worth watching). Since Punk's promo I've been more engaged, but never a regular viewer. Subscribed to the network on day one for nostalgia's sake and have never watched more wrestling in my life (though even that's just limited to a little bit a week, nothing too intense).
  16. We're really just talking about 'why advertise?' Which, granted, I think everyone asks every once in a while. Besides the lifts thing (which I didn't realize was a Jericho reference), I thought Punk came down much easier on Jericho this time. Said Jericho likely thinks he knows just what Punk is going through given the former's own bitter departure(s) and then returns. Maybe it's because the medical things are so over the top and I can't relate, but (of course, this is if...if...if everything is true) hearing the run of the mill grievances in this segment got to me just as much. Maybe because there were so many of them. Slim Jim/Wizard World/LA Ink/video game (complete with an e-mail chain wherein the company tries to argue against the publisher's request for Punk on the cover!). And one of the few things I remember from the Laurinaitis/Punk feud was the reveal of the next video game cover, so he wouldn't have turned yet. And checking wiki...looks like the cover reveal was in May, but the game wasn't released until October. He's not wrong about the Vince apology either.
  17. More SmackDown - I recall McMahon's title win in the fall of '99 being promoted on their site in advance of broadcast.
  18. Next Monday Night War episode is titled 'Building an Army'. What does this cover? Defections?
  19. Yeah...I still remember talk of this when in the Network thread when the Clashes first went up. Comments from then:
  20. Ughh. Bought a roku stick last week. And I was an early subscriber, so I don't think I received November for free. I guess this is what happens on any sale, those who bought before the mark-down don't get the benefit (though I guess price matching can be a thing in places). But now I'm frustrated, though I won't do anything about it.
  21. Hmm, I can't argue against that, but don't they put a date in the corner of the screen when using previously shot footage (every Bischoff clip has 2002 or 2003 on it, I think)? I didn't notice that for Angle's clip.
  22. Finally got a download link after not being able to grab it on my phone via downcast or iphone's podcast app since it went live. I think Punk mentioned Michael Hayes right before going into the staph business, so I was confused for a long time as he was describing what 'Dok' or 'the Doc' was doing, and how 'Doc' had a ritual of cutting open these growths in the locker room. Thought it was good ol' Doc Hendrix, but an md makes much more sense! jdw aka 'the objective' is back, baby!!
  23. Like I said about the snowballing effect with my example, how much do you want to bet that starts to get some attention by some WWE slanted outlets in order to, not discredit what Punk said outright, but to cast some doubt on the complete truthfulness of Punk's claims. I mean it wouldn't change a thing since there is way too much smoke in other instances besides Punk, but something stupid and dangerous like a DUI charge, even if it went away quietly based on whatever reasoning (BAC wasn't legal limit, cop was being a quota seeking ahole, or being an ahole based on Punk being a pro wrestler, etc), I can see being brought up as a way to discredit Punk's IRL character. That should be easy enough to verify through public records if someone is able to do it. I'm ignorant on this stuff - is telling you that a violation of attorney-client privilege? And the lawyer was gossiping about the details of a client's (Lawler) sex case, too? This is sketchy as hell. November 9, 1998 Nitro for me. Jericho/Goldberg in the aisle, but President Hogan and nwo tag main event. Looks like we got a pretty sweet eighteen second Scott Norton/Lodi battle.
  24. Noticed Kurt Angle as a talking head for the first time in the MNW Celeb episode. Next week: a combined profile of Stimg and Undertaker.
