About 2/3 through this and a few other notes: - re: Coors Light, at one point Ross hit the double bonus of how he would love nothing more right now than a Coors Light and a slice of Dominos - I can't believe a wrestler's name was The Terrorist - I believe Norman The Lunatic hailed from 'state hospital' - only slightly paraphrased Jim Ross: Norman and Teddy Long have something in common. They have no front teeth. Maybe that's how they communicate? - can't second guess the decision to introduce brian pillman with videos of him at the gym - someone mentioned the scott hall gator video, but it's worth repeating. It was Hall walking near gators, sometimes with a stick, cut with highlights of him getting a two count on a dude and executing a hip toss. - jim cornette looked like a legit 14. so young. - mike rotunda - former national punt, pass and kick semi-finalist!

The WWE Universe spoke and the company isn't going to violate the sanctity of the poll results. Come on.

What was the reason for that double switch? Not that it would have made XV much better, but at least Road Dogg was being positioned in the hardcore scene (I think) and as Cool Campbell said, Gunn was actually part of the IC storyline (again, not that it was much of one). Always struck me as odd. Besides it being a Russo switch for the sake of a Russo switch, couldn't figure it out. -
This seems to be the key. Tough to know for sure who's to blame when an insane carny is barking in everyone's ear for three hours.

Thanks, guys. I like to go into shows cold, so I'll pick one of those at random at some point. Watching No Way Out 2001 first after the recent three stages of hell references here. -

Watched Starrcade 97 for the first time the other day and need to wash away that taste. What's a good bet for an entertaining NWO-era WCW ppv? -
[1997-12-28-WCW-Starrcade '97] Hulk Hogan vs Sting
cowboy hats replied to Loss's topic in December 1997
The talk of Sting's conditioning and arms is funny because Schiavone specifically mentions Sting's arms when he's first in the ring with Hogan. Wish I took down the quote, but the point was Tony thought Sting was lookin' good. The horribleness of everything about this can't be overemphasized. Hogan beats up Sting outside for a bit, hits the legdrop, taunts the crowd and then gets a clean pin. At least it was short? Not that they were going 25+, but I'll take what I can get after watching 2.5 hours of a lame ppv. -

Benoit flying headbutting MVP to victory a few months before murdering his family. Donald Trump with the Boogeyman. I hope the second half lives up to Exposer's hype. Fortunately still have Bobby Lashley to make sure that happens. -

23 is a top five Mania of all time in my opinion. It has the best Mania MITB match, the Battle of the Billionaires, Taker-Batista, and Cena-HBK. All of those matches are either extremely entertaining or really great. *drudge siren* the second match on the card is kane-khali *drudge siren* MITB was a fine opener, but so far it's featured Mr. Kennedy, Kane-Khali and now I'm watching Eugene dance with Cryme Tyme and Moolah and Mae. Though Slick just dropped in, so I have that going for me. -
But maybe she got a kick out of it! Who knows??

Despite lurking on and sometimes contributing to internet wrestling message boards since the late 90s, 2006-2011 WWE is a complete blur. If I get in the mood soon to watch a Wrestlemania from that stretch (22-27), what's my best bet? -

In what town did wolfman live? -
- What is on Wrestlemania Fallout? - David Koechner appeared as a talking head on the countdown of greatest entrances.
-
- I tired of talking head shows ten+ years ago, too, but I didn't think anyone came across poorly here. Bryan was featured for a total of, what, forty seconds? Punk has been shown on newly released clip shows on the network for a while now (and not billed as 'Former WWE Superstar' like Dibiase Jr.). - The key word here is 'infamous', not necessarily 'worse'. A Canadian cop who sang his own song is silly. Doink was #2 but not really slammed. - They said the word 'rooster' so often it lost all meaning. - Why wouldn't da boogeyman be #1? Or at least on the list? For such a silly, inconsequential clip show like this, I had a completely different read than good ol' C.S. - The only one they took personal shots with was Disco, but besides not having a relationship with WWE, is that because it was a self-produced gimmick? That was his call, not corporate's idea. Him asking for directions to the nearest tanning salon, disco, palm reader got a legit lol, though.

Watching wrestlemania again on VOD and it has skipped a number of times just in the first segment with Hogan/Austin/Rock. I'm going to do an embarrassing job describing this, but the resolution also changes at times (same happened live Sunday night), as if the picture is zoomed in so I'm not getting it all. But this is the horrible device that is known as the 360, so YMMV.

sign: never forget 02.05.1988 holy shit paul heyman guy!!

It's clear what they are doing: righting the biggest wrong of last night and having him run down the ramp and around the ring, up an aisle and straight out the building into the gulf of mexico.

I like those odds!
