I think the inconsistency of the 80's keeps him away from the top 10 but I'ma find a hard time finding twenty wrestlers better than Jumbo. As Ditch said, between those underwhelming matches there are all-time gems were Jumbo had a big part on making them great. And then you have grumpy Jumbo and everything comes together for him.

I've only seen a couple of Lucha matches in my life so I'm far from the best person to have an opinion on that UG vs Atlantis match. But I'm on the camp of "very good, emotional match", didn't seem like a classic to me. Kinda felt like Michaels vs Taker at WM 26 with the kickout-sell-move-kickout layout. But then again, I have no connection to both guys so I probably missed a very important piece to completely "get" what they were doing. The post-match was something else though. And damn, is commentary always that horrible in current Lucha? Not that they were saying anything wrong but the lack of real (or believable) emotion for such a big match was surprising. I was expecting something resembling to Eduardo Lama, Carlos Aguilar and Julio Cesar Chavez Sr. in Box Azteca. -
Thank god they decided to push more than 1 guy this time aro...oh wait.

I don't think I've ever watched a wrestler that entertained me as much as the Funker. Shit, I remember him completely saving a horrible legends battle royal at a PWG show when he started going at it against Piper. Doesn't matter the style or the age, Terry Funk always finds a way to make me interested in what he's doing. Top 5 easily for me.

Jun Akiyama vs KENTA - "Cross Road" 17.05.09 Akiyama's best performance in years up to that point. I was pleased that they didn't do any limb work and just focused on the striking. KENTA is really good against heavyweights (and the fans believe in him) and this is no exception, some great hard hitting action. Watching a grumpy Akiyama drop someone on his head and continuously working that area was highly entertaining. They brought some life to a dead place like Differ Ariake. Jun Akiyama vs Kensuke Sasaki - Global League 04.04.10 Well this was unexpected. A hot Korakuen crowd gladly welcomes this hard hitting match that has a surprisingly big amount of technical wrestling and not a lot of bomb throwing. Go Shiozaki vs Jun Akiyama - "PRO-WRESTLING NOAH ANNIVERSARY" 06.08.2011 As with every NOAH title match, your enjoyment will depend on the early to middle part of the match and if you can be entertained by it or keep interest on what they are doing. Akiyama busting Go hard way with a flying knee from the apron and working the injury gave the match the touch it needed for me to be invested in Go's comeback and his continuous struggle to prove he is no longer a "young gun". They had a stupid top rope stop were I don't know what they were trying to do but besides that, this was a solid, hard fought battle. And hey, Differ Ariake didn't suck for once.

I'll see if I can get people from south american forums to participates and from other places like the-coli or wrestlingforum.

The best babyface in the business for like 5-6 years. He'll be in the top 100 for sure.
-
Yeah, when he was doing the whole "weak link" angle he was destroying people, specially in tags. And in his heel run on SD! he was dominating a dude like the Big Show and making it seem believable. He's been the super underdog for what? 6-7 months? (not counting his time off) That ain't that long.
-
Hopefully it's not just something related to Slam City or 2k15...
-
Off the top of my head he's a lock in the top 15 and may end up much higher once I start really thinking about it and we have 2 more years of him as a WWE top guy. Really interested on reading this board's opinion on him once people start revisiting his indy days, specially 05' to 08'. Not sure how many people in here saw him in the 2008 16 Carat Gold Tournament but what Bryan does in those three days against Quackenbush, Marufuji, Hero and Bad Bones is something to behold. Specially considering how he was working at the time. Dude just said fuck the beloved indy king schtick, went full heel and my god. Those German fans can be annoying as shit but Danielson is too damn good and makes it work.

Couldn't really get into the guy's character and matches until he debuted his "swagged out" persona on the late 2000's. I agree with Dylan that he had way too many nights off to have a compelling case, even after he found his gimmick. Him vs Tanahashi is an interesting debate imo. But not for a "100 GOAT wrestlers", they could maybe crack the bottom.
-
Another feather in his cap is having a good match against Marufuji - when he was at his fucking worst - in 2010 at NEW DIMENSION. re: the Sano 90' match. Don't remember that being "back and forth" at all. Doesn't Sano just beat the dog shit out of Liger for most of the match - blooding him and ripping his mask off - until he starts mounting a pretty great comeback? Maybe I gotta watch it again.

Nightmare Ken Wayne charged with child exploitation

uhhh, who is Ken Wayne??? -
I love Enzo and Big Cass. Dudes are entertaining and legit funny.

Remember the kid that kept yelling "LET'S GO CENA!" during the Brock/Cena match? Turns out that was Bill Simmons daughter. btw, Simmons has to be one of the dumbest wrestling fans out there. Every time he start talking about it it's cringe worthy. edit: unrelated

Very glad KENTA is keeping his name. Maybe there's a difference between KENTA and Kenta for copyright purposes?
-
I still say they should book Reigns vs Rock. Match may suck or only be decent but there's more upside for Roman in that program than Brock.
-
Unless Reigns catches fires, fans are gonna shit all over his match with Brock if D-Bry is booked in a mixed tag. They would have to book it with a N°1 contender stipulation or something and even then I'm not sure fans would be content.

Shouldn't he be back earlier? The original time table WITH a 2nd surgery had him back in December-January (3 month recovery). I mean, he should take as much time as needed but wouldn't shock me if he's back for SS if he doesn't need shoulder surgery. I guess it just depends on how quickly his rehab goes. Surgery is always a last resort so if it's 3 months of rehab vs. 3 months of surgery recovery then it's the same net timeframe, but one is a much more attractive option. Ah, I see.

I'd be intrigued by a Sheamus match tbh. If they want to book a "filler" title match I'd like to see that one.
