  1. For real? I thought it was a really underwhelming hoss match. Not that surprising considering Cage was involved, but still. Paul Wight crying, a wrestling tradition!
  2. Man, a lot promises of people killing people in the ring, lol. I've heard it from Jericho, Darby and Black.
  3. I've said this before. I can totally picture La Nariz creating his own promotion to show he can do it on his own or some dumb shit like that. It would be fucking hilarious, I hope it happens eventually
  4. Seriously though, what's his job currently? I can't imagine him sitting on his hands and letting the checks and family money come in while he has a nothing position in the company. Dude has to big of an ego to not do a political play sooner rather than later. Kinda interested on what he comes up with to be honest.
  5. Seems I'ma hop on the AEW bandwagon earlier than expected. https://www.bodyslam.net/2021/08/27/exclusive-bryan-danielson-set-to-make-his-aew-debut-at-all-out/ For whatever it's worth, Alvarez said he was told the same too. I guess they do the announcement on Sunday and make him debut or appear on the following Dynamite to boost interest? His in ring debut being at Arthur Ashe continues to be the best idea, imo.
  6. Woods and Breeze check that shit out weekly on their "Battle of Brands" show on Youtube, maybe they can rehire Breeze or something
  7. I think they should cycle people in and out while they work other places. One of WWE's biggest issues as has been already stated is that they stashed talented people, didn't do shit with them while at the same time the same wrestlers kept having the same programs, rematches and spot on the cards. AEW should continue to take advantage of their partnerships and send people to different places for 3-6-9 months runs so they can comeback fresh or when they actually have a good program for them. In the meantime, said wrestler continues to work and hopefully gains momentum in other places so when he/she comebacks, it's as a bigger name (or at the very least the same level + the advantage of being gone) and means something. The core should be people like MJF, Darby, Baker, Guevara, etc. Young people that continue to grow while they throw at them different people and programs. They have enough names to have a very solid main event scene, but they gotta be careful to not let it become stagnant because they can't move those name out or down the card. From an outsider perspective I think they've done a very good balancing act so far. With more people coming in, they gotta find new ways to keep it that way. Edit: damn you Matt!
  8. As El-P said, "the Brand" has allowed them to put in a system were it's really fucking hard for them not to generate a ton of money. They basically don't rely on any traditional wrestling metric, though ratings are more important than before, and don't "need" a good TV product per se. At least not right now or the coming years. It's been a decade of them profiting from it. RE: AEW's new signings. I agree that Cole and Wyatt are in a whole different level than someone like Danielson but my main point was that even after the Arthur Ashe show (were Dragon is supposed to show up), AEW still has tricks up their sleeve to continue to create buzz. I can't stand Adam Cole but if there's one place were he'll be received like a star, it's the AEW fanbase. I'm also not a fan of Wyatt but him showing up is still a moment, shows that AEW is were people want to go to and he still has a following and sells merch like crazy. To all of that, WWE has nothing to counter it. That's kinda crazy when you think about it. Maybe KawadaSmile is onto something and they try to get more mainstream people like Connor, or bring back Mayweather or something. Poetic.
  9. I'm struggling to come up with anything that WWE has in their arsenal as to get the kind of buzz and positive perception AEW is getting now and will get in the coming month with Danielson and Cole/Wyatt (or both) showing up. Not talking about drawing and making a profit because WWE can do jackshit for 12 months straight and still get tens of millions each month, but they finally have competition that is constantly getting a lot of attention and positive reactions, and I'm amazed at how little WWE has to counter that as said competition has set itself up to get even more attention and positive buzz in the immediate future. WWE already went with Becky and Brock. Ronda can't comeback yet I think and even if Rock is available (a huge what if anyways), that's like 5 to 7 months down the line. And sure, they can still try to call on nostalgia acts to generate something, but I don't think anything of that sort can fight what AEW is doing. A mass NXT call up has been rendered useless after the damage they've done to the brand and up coming talent in the last 4 years. What else do they have?? I feel like WWE's only option is just to sit tight and try shit out with what they have, but that's gonna take a while to gain momentum and it needs good booking in a lot of fronts, something we know WWE is allergic to. I guess them being bought would be a momentous occasion that would turn the wrestling world upside down and put every eye on them again but that's an external factor.
  10. The End of an Era, not even Nikki Bella is with their bullshit anymore
  11. I don't know last couple of matches we've gotten like 20 spears and 16 F-5. I hope it's not that again .
  12. Of course Cokeboy drops the check for Brock after what AEW has done I just hope him and Roman learned from the last 2 (or were there 3) borefest they did and try to have a WM 31 classic again.
  13. The 2nd half was a great WWE style main event. First half was whatever.
  14. Fickle.
  15. Cena looking more like Vanilla Ice than he did in 2005 is something I didn't expect.
  16. That fucking sucked.
  17. I think once they knew Spence vs Pacquiao wasn't gonna happen they just said fuck it, lol.
  18. A decade in the making. Crazy.
  19. Given the success of all the wink wink promotion they did for Punk returning tonight, they should have a big ass Coundown after All Out that ends the day of the Arthur Ashe show. People will know what that means at once.
  20. Punk and Dragon doing a 2.0 version of The Hybrid Dolphis vs Young Bucks match from DDT4 2009 would be amazing. Just 20 minutes of Danielson and Roddy beating the absolute fuck out of the Bucks only to lose by fuckery. I think you'd love that match if you haven't already seen it
  21. Was able to catch him just when he was about to speak then mine went down too lol.. No channel shows AEW here in Chile so it's gonna be a motherfucker to catch this shit live it seems. I'm fine waiting for Dragon but once that dude is back I wanna watch what he does
  22. He looks so damn happy, that's dope.
  23. Yeah, and I'm not used to WWE functioning as one
  24. Yeah, and the G-1 is gonna be pretty depressing unless they finally book talent from other promotions.
  25. On one hand I'm not surprised about this Nick Khan quote, but on the other hand l'm still kinda surprised he made it known publicly All his (and WWE's) latest actions point to this being the case. But still, outright saying is not the kind of thing WWE does.
