  1. TravJ has kept Memphis pretty up-to-date, so although he hasn't responded yet in the thread, I'd think he's in.
  2. Not going to lie, setting aside any rationality of whether it should be done, Sting winning the title would be an enjoyable moment for me if it happens.
  3. I'll focus on the Saturdays and Sundays for the catch-up summary and only include Friday shows when merited. I'll rework some of what I already have started but not posted in order to pare it down and match the ones i haven't started yet.
  4. This is what I'd do, just to get back on a level with everyone... Yeah, I may not have much of a choice if I'm going to get caught up.
  5. Aw man, was hoping you wouldn't drop out. You were doing some great stuff with Georgia. I'm a bit bummed we won't see your 10/3 Omni show now.
  6. The problem is that I don't want to go with a total summary approach since i have the ten year anniversary show on Sept. 17, so there needs to be some sort of in between of full write up and summary (although more towards summary) with the catch up. But, at his point, my priority should be to catch up as much as possible in the next two weeks.
  7. Actually I'm kind off glad that this is going down because it's forcing me to get my act together. My previous posts were more venting than anything. Again, i'll do my best to stay in. Heck, I've got deals going with most of you, so it's in everyone's best interest for me to get this together. Just treat my previous post as the frustrated ventings of someone who recognizes that he needs to get his stuff together now. The TV has been my biggest stumbling block, so I'll really look at that today and see how I can pare it down to where it works for what i need and allows me to keep it going. But one thing, the reason I got paranoid is that, it's not enough to say you are in right now, I've been saying I'm "in" all this time. It's 'in' and start posting stuff, or else I'll be stuck in the same spot. So apologies if my paranoia got the better of me.
  8. I'll do what i can to stay in, and hopefully i can do it, but I'm getting the feeling that I've already been tossed and it's just lip service at this point.
  9. Yeah, t'm working on finishing up July to post it later today. From there I'll move on to August. My target is to be in September when October hits. I'm doing this shorter cliff notes style because i don' want to drop out, and so that the people who I've made deals with don't have their plans upset due to my egregious delays in posting shows (although I have made sure to remain active in the one area that directly affects others, which is talent deals and exchanges).
  10. I just got back late last night from my trip and will be posting my next shows this weekend. Like others, it's the TV shows where I'm being held up a bit in getting this moving.
  11. Hi guys, just wanted to let you know that I haven't posted my next few shows due to a work related trip that's popped up in the past week and a half. I'll be out until mid next week with spotty internet connection at best, but I should get back to posting this weekend after I get back.
  12. What's the consensus on Konnan throwing his shoes? Good dumb or bad dumb?
  13. Doesn't mean there shouldn't be an attempt to fix it. What would you suggest to fix it? I'm curious, as I can't think of many things that would truly be effective. Unfortunately you can't start taking ballots away from people who should not have one. Boricua's "region limit" is something that has been talked about before in this forum but I don't know if that would actually solve any problems as it could potentially accentuate them even more by letting more undeserving people in (the "lucha expert pool" on the WON HOF has always been somewhat suspect, the Japanese fans sometimes seem to be in their own bubble and use very different metrics than others, a lot of the "modern reporters" seem to be people who shouldn't be allowed near a ballot, etc.). A minimum wait time before the ballot can be sent wouldn't make a difference either. The HOF is what it is and I take it as such. I was a voter for many years but a decade ago I stopped voting because I thought it was getting silly. I eventually stopped getting a ballot but for whatever reason a few years ago I got it back and now I vote again but take it as a learning/teaching/discussing opportunity for us in this corner of the internet. How many of you who considered yourselves BIG lucha fans 10 years ago would have been able to articulate a compelling case for Misioneros de la Muerte (who I consider a slam dunk pick)? And how many of you can do it now? How about Villano III? People like Steve Sims and I made cases for them a very long time ago - this ended up pushing people like Matt Farmer to come up with more facts and data that neither Steve or I knew about. On the other hand, I have learned a lot about people like Koloff, Patera, Lewin - guys that I saw mostly at the tail end of their careers. I like seeing "my guys" getting recognition, but at the end of the day I decided that for me it's about journey and not the destination. I absolutely agree that any hypothetical region assignment would only work if the assigned voter pool is a strong and knowledgeable one. The journey is the most important aspect, but the sometimes frustrating aspect of this is that the journey should lead to the end results and it doesn't always work that way since the journey is not traveled as it should be (so to speak) by everyone who participates. Too much hopping a ride to the end destination without taking in and understanding the surroundings traveled to get there.
  14. Doesn't mean there shouldn't be an attempt to fix it. I'm not too bothered about this since you'll always have people from both extremes who turn the ballots in quickly (those that barely give it a thought and those that spent the whole time in between votes studying/researching candidates) and who wait until the last minute to send their ballot in (those who use all of their time to make an informed vote and those who fill it out quickly at the last second without much thought in order to meet the deadline). The one thing that has always bothered me more about this voting process is allowing voters to self select every year what categories they vote in. Not everyone exercises restraint and good judgement on whether they know enough on the specific group of candidates to vote fairly on all of the candidates in that group. They may know enough about only one guy in the category, and if they vote for that guy they damage the chances of any other candidates in that group. The one group where I know this is unavoidable due to how it's made up is the catch-all Australia/Pacific Islands/Caribbean/Africa, but for the others it's an issue that bothers me,
  15. Awesome. Which are heel/face? I'll need to check to make sure, but based on a mix tag on YouTube I think Kid Chocolate was face and Chico Santana was heel.
  16. I know locally WWC had Kid Chocolate and Chico Santana make appearances for them around this time period. They could be added to the talent list.
  17. I've got most of my big matches/feuds laid out for the rest of this year and early 84. It's writing the TV that's currently slowing me down (every time I've gotten going something's come up that's cut my time short at finishing them up). I've been working on a few shows concurrently so once i get them done it'll be a batch of shows covering all of July.
  18. I like the idea too. It allows those wrestlers to find work.
  19. Sorry for not metioning it earlier, but I pass.
  20. Hi guys, sorry for not posting my next batch of shows yet. I got sidetracked this past weekend with making preparations in case tropical storm Danny came our way (thankfully it didn't) and now we have Erica coming our way tomorrow. Hopefully it passes without causing too much of a hassle. If everything goes well and my power doesn't go out, I plan to post the shows on Friday.
  21. I unfortunately don't have information on this. The one thing I find interesting is that, since Fujinami's opponent is Dr. Death, this likely took place in late 88 or early 89.
  22. Don't forget we still have this draft going on. Both RocketCrypt and Wahoo's Leg can pass or pick at any time, and it's JerryVonKramer who's on the clock.
  23. Guys, calm down. I feel weird about this since I'm supposed to be the one in line to take over Florida, but I'm chronologically even more behind than Florida. That just feels 'off' to me. Let's give Rocket Crypt a few more days to respond. In the meantime, I'm going to be posting a batch of cards and shows this weekend to start catching up. If it ends up with Florida up for grabs (and I hope RocketCrypt does continue, I've liked what he's done so far), it seems 'wrong' to me to have someone more behind in posting shows take it over.
  24. Yay, my question made it on the show. Did not expect it to spark such a lengthy conversation (well, for a mailbag question) so that was nice. To answer my own question, here's my most unusual place to encounter a wrestler. It involves one of Will's favorites. http://prowrestlingonly.com/index.php?/topic/15355-comments-that-dont-warrant-a-thread-part-3/?p=5635286
  25. Highlights will be shown on this coming weekend's TV, so it did make tape (too much storyline stuff taking place to not have it taped for future use).
