  1. http://tvtimelimitremaining.co.uk/the-modern-way-lucha-underground-series-2-episode-1/ I review LU's premiere episode of Season 2. TL:DR - a great start, with an excellent opener, decent three way and well booked main event. The storylines were also developed in an interesting and exciting manner. Good stuff.
  2. More songs about things that didn't actually happen. The version I saw had Vampiro as Hannibal Lector opening show, and 3 marks fleeced and presumably killed at the end. Maybe you saw a different version. Can it be considered a murder when it was his imagination?
  3. Ok, maybe I should make this more straightforward. Who keeps a record of the matches they watch? What do you include? Do you log everything or only matches of a certain quality? Etc.
  4. http://tvtimelimitremaining.co.uk/a-wrestling-year-29-01-1986-04-02-1986/ The Dream Team and The British Bulldogs face off a couple of months before WM2, whilst Landell and Mantell are awesome.
  5. What do you do? This is a two fold question: 1) How do you go about recording responses to wrestling as you watch? 2) What do you do afterwards to record your wrestling watching? This is asked primarily due to the vast number of podcasts/blogs people run, but also as I've heard of a few of you recording matches on spreadsheets. This is more for curiosity than anything.
  6. Best match I've seen live, but that could be as much about the level of wrestling I've seen live than anything.
  7. A wrestler that I'm not sure people's mileage on, but I hate Jimmy Valiant.
  8. I've not seen them together, as Ole is injured. Arn is great, but I mostly enjoyed Arn Anderson and Tully Blanchard vs Don Kernoodle and Italian Stallion from my most recent post - just a really good little tag match which had Arn and Tully give a lot to the face team, before heeling it up enough to defeat them. Not a squash, but real good fun. The Ivan Koloff comment is a good shout, as he always gives his jobbers some offense and time to shine.
  9. http://tvtimelimitremaining.co.uk/a-wrestling-year-22-01-1986-28-01-1986-part-2/ Bill Dundee vs Tracy Smothers and a whole host of NWA squashes (now with two (!) added GIFS)
  10. I had a search and couldn't find a topic like this already, but if I missed it, I'm sorry. Who are you favourite squash match workers? Doing the 1986 project has allowed me to see more squashes than I have in years, and Don Muraco is a guy who stands out. He had an offense that was diverse and interesting for the time, and just beasted jobbers. Ron Garvin is another one who just blasted through jobbers in an interesting way. Both Midnight and Rock and Roll Express wrestled interesting squashes - the Rock and Rolls especially, as the layout of their squash matches varied from match to match.
  11. For those who have watched these matches, and any of the matches around the feud, what other matches might be worth looking at to supplement the feud? I watched the first match from 87 yesterday for the first time. Definitely has my interest for the rest of the series.
  12. http://tvtimelimitremaining.co.uk/a-wrestling-year-22-01-1986-28-01-1986-part-1/ CCW and WWF action, with The Nightmares trying to destroy Lee Peak and more Hillbillies than I can shake a stick at.
  13. http://tvtimelimitremaining.co.uk/a-wrestling-year-15-01-198-21-01-1986-part-2/ One NWA show to finish the week off, with Garvin knocking Flair into the middle of next week.
  14. http://tvtimelimitremaining.co.uk/a-wrestling-year-15-01-1986-21-01-1986/ Memphis and WWF action as we see the wonder of a Bill Dundee vs Big Red match and the team of Dan Spivey and Corporal Kirchner.
  15. Two shows from Continental Championship wrestling, including Norvell Austin vs Adrian Street and Brad Armstrong vs Robert Fuller...twice. http://tvtimelimitremaining.co.uk/a-wrestling-year-missed-ccw-shows-01-01-1986-14-01-1986/
  16. Having watched a couple (literally a couple) of his matches, I sought out this topic as I wanted to see if Street had been discussed. I find him intriguing as much as anything else. He has an odd ruggedness about his offense, where he seems to take potshots at his opponent and just scrap away at them. I like his use of his knees in his offense, but I'd struggle to actually name many moves he does outside of the running splash.
  17. Cheers - I appreciate the kind words. Kayfabe wise, the only way Fuji's appearances make sense is through your ideas - heels couldn't legitimately think they were better off with a non-wrestler teaming with them? I watched a bit of the CCW stuff yesterday, only to realise I was watching the wrong episode due to the dates being wrong. A short delay before that column ends up being posted then.
  18. I'd be interested, but not sure about time differences considering my UK-ness.
  19. http://tvtimelimitremaining.co.uk/a-wrestling-year-08-01-1986-14-01-1986-part-2/ The second part of the second week in 1986 includes a Mid-Atlantic Heavyweight Title match and an odd squash featuring George Steele and Moondog Spot. I've found some CWF on my computer, so the next column (possibly tomorrow) will sweep up the first two shows of their year.
  20. I've seen little of it, but Valentine just shouldn't be a face.
  21. http://tvtimelimitremaining.co.uk/a-wrestling-year-08-01-1986-14-01-1986-part-1/ Lots of title changes abound in Mid-South, and we get a Lawler-less Memphis show. As always, comments, ideas and criticisms much appreciated.
  22. By all means, extend this to pre-1984. Excellent suggestions so far. Thanks.
  23. That'd be awesome. I found a couple, but my youtube-fu powers suck.
  24. Oh yeah, I wasn't expecting mind-blowing matches, but it got me stoked to check out the atmosphere of the time period as much as anything else. Any youtube/dailymotion stuff would be cool, as I lack the funds to invest at the moment. Thanks for the recommendations - keep them coming.
  25. I've been reading Capitol Revolution since the New Year, and it has got me interested more in the pre-WWF era. I'm sure there are might be loads, and I look like an arse, but since there isn't often a lot of mention of legitimate 'must watch' matches from the pre-WWF era, I thought it might be worth asking here for any suggestions.
