  1. Post them here I guess. I'm going to start exploring outside of just RevPro and PROGRESS. Might have a look at ICW, but seen links to promotions online as diverse as Futureshock, NGW, Pro Wrestling Chaos, IPW:UK, W3L and Discovery all with relatively easy access.
  2. I feel he'd need a big angle within a big company to be 'the guy'. He has spent too long around the periphery to suddenly be elevated to championship status, even though he is arguably above a lot of wrestlers who occupy that level. It seemed like PROGRESS was starting to go that way when he attacked Travis after their match, but with Travis subsequently legit retiring, it probably won't go anywhere.
  3. Not seen much Damo, outside of him trying to cripple Nakamura at one of the last RevPro shows. Scurll is odd for me, insofar as I feel that he is already beginning to occupy a Doug Williams position - he is a great challenger, a steady hand, but won't be the guy you have as 'the man' in your promotion. That Scurll is so much younger than Williams and that is the case feels a little odd.
  4. Where do you sit on Scurll? Sabre Jr. is by far and away the best. Just so interesting and dynamic. To open this up, I've never quite clicked with the London Riots. They aren't horrendous, but they can be a bit hit and miss for me.
  5. I've grown on Mark Haskins as well. I didn't think much when I saw him in 2013 RevPro, but seeing early PROGRESS and catching him against Ospreay in the Chapter 2....something...event that happened recently, he has impressed me. I agree with the Ospreay limb damage thing. He does garner a lot of sympathy though, which definitely helps him. Helps he has a catchy name to chant. It would be remiss to be in a UK wrestling thread without mentioning Marty Scurll. WOOP WOOP.
  6. I saw him live as one half of the Swords of Essex fighting for RevPro. I then saw him a couple of years after fighting in the main event for PROGRESS and RevPro. Guy has moved on leaps and bounds from where he was. A good deal of charisma, and a great face in peril. A really impressive guy.
  7. I knew it was coming at some point, but it still surprised me when it actually happened, I'll just throw out what I usually say when talking about PROGRESS/UK Wrestling - I've been really impressed with Nathan Cruz. He is the one guy I didn't already know about who has made me stand up and take notice. A great heel.
  8. I've watched the first twelve shows after signing up to their on demand service. Some really good stuff, especially as you hit the end of the single digits. There are a lot of companies offering similar services in terms of access, so am currently looking to branch out. Been to several RevPro shows, as well as one PROGRESS shows. The amount of interest in UK indy wrestling feels large at the moment for sure.
  9. Cool, that was along the lines of what I was looking for. I didn't really want to spoil any of the action I was going to watch, so didn't want to stumble across results when looking at past things. I hadn't realised he had as long a run as Tiger Mask, including the move up to heavyweight. I've always perceived the gimmick as a light heavyweight gimmick, so that might be the reason.
  10. I wasn't sure where this might best be placed, so I chanced my arm at putting it here. So, I've decided to dip more vigorously into AJPW, using the Excite Series podcast as my starting point (so as not to get overwhelmed by content). My question is concerning Misawa. I always wondered how he went from Tiger Mask II to suddenly being up against Jumbo Tsuruta. I assumed there was an obvious window of transition between the two gimmicks - yet I'm now of the opinion that between unmasking and fighting Jumbo for the first time was only a 12 day gap? I guess I'm asking how things progressed to the point where: 1) They decided the mask wasn't worth keeping, and 2) That he was challenger to Jumbo material, since he'd only been wrestling masked up until this point. I hope I've phrased this clearly enough. I also appreciate that people get over wearing masks, I just am surprised that a gimmick that maybe never felt designed to be at the top of the card in that way allowed Misawa to move into a secondary position fairly quickly.
  11. A small break due to NaNoWriMo, but here is some 1982 Mid-South to be looked at. http://tvtimelimitremaining.co.uk/watts-you-gonna-do-january-to-march-1982/
  12. Worth seeking out?
  13. On my computer, I have singles matches dated: 8/31/87 10/10/87 10/28/88 04/20/89 06/05/89 (might have the 06 and 05 around the wrong way on that one) 10/11/89 12/06/89 Firstly, I'm sure some of these are dated US and some UK way, so apologies for that. I just wanted to ask whether there are any gaps in terms of their singles stuff that would be worth seeing out. This feels pretty comprehensive in terms of number, but I wouldn't be surprised if something was missing.
  14. http://tvtimelimitremaining.co.uk/spotlight-jerry-lawler-vs-austin-idol/ My recap/review of the Austin Idol/Jerry Lawler feud which lead to the hair vs hair cage match in 1987.
  15. I watched this fully for the first time recently and reviewed it on my blog:
  16. http://tvtimelimitremaining.co.uk/making-progress-chapter-10/ The reign of Havoc begins! PROGRESS Chapter 10 review.
  17. I'm a bit hazy on the time period, but when Rey Mysterio Jr. won the title, only to then lost non-title matches to Mark Henry and some other people. Now, I feel like Mysterio Jr. getting caught out by bigger men and getting beaten isn't a bad idea, as it feels legitimate in some ways. However, a bad time to run that type of storyline/presentation of a character when you've just given him the World Title. Hate is probably a strong word, but it was definitely baffling.
  18. http://tvtimelimitremaining.co.uk/building-an-empire-1987/ I watch the best action from Wrestlemania III and Survivor Series 1987. Check it out.
  19. I was there live. The first half was OK, though it had mostly due to the emphasis on crowd pleasing spots rather than ring action. Second half was excellent, with the main event easily the best match of the night.
  20. Yeah, those final three minutes or so were awesome.
  21. I posted this somewhere else, but thought I'd throw it in here. I don't think the Bayley/Sasha match was as good as the previous one, primarily due to the extended time being a factor. The length of the match allowed them to do different things of course, and the story told was good. However, the length of the match also saw more 'wiffed' (for lack of a better term) offense and offense that just looked off at times. I just feel that for every good spot and move, Bayley (and Banks at times) hits a theoretically sound spot questionably or in a way that just takes me out of the match. I admit that you can't compare Asuka's match with Brooke to this due to the different contextual aspects, but when you have a woman wrestling on the same card with that much fluidity and that much impact on her moves, it made some of the issues in the main event bigger in my eyes. It was still the best match by far. Everything else was solid, if a little unspectacular. I might have even had Gable/Jordan vs Corbin/Rhyno as the next best match - Corbin got interesting in this team I feel.
  22. I have a collection I found. Whether that is all of them or not, not sure - but I'll cover what I have. Thanks for the help.
  23. Yeah, that was the video I was going to watch. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RhgVdD4Mt3U This is the one for Austin Idol vs Jerry Lawler (I mistakenly posted it as Tommy Rich in the first post.) The other ones aren't much longer by the time you add them all up really.
  24. Just looking for a little bit of guidance really. I want to do a section on the blog I run where I look at a feud or a sequence of matches between two guys or two teams. The choices I've come up with to start with are below - which do people recommend I look at first? Greg Valentine vs Tito Santana Stan Hansen vs Carlos Colon (based off of hearing about it on the 100 match countdown Parv did) Don Muraco vs Jimmy Snuka Austin Idol vs Jerry Lawler (or at least watch the Youtube video that encapsulates the angle leading to the hair match IIRC) The Midnight Rockers vs Doug Somers and Buddy Rose The plan would be to look at all of them at some point, but where should I be heading for the best first experience? Cheers
  25. http://tvtimelimitremaining.co.uk/making-progress-chapter-9/ Making PROGRESS: Chapter 9 Otherwise known as 'When shit hit the fan'. Sabre Jr./Haskins/Ricochet is the best match I've seen yet from the promotion.
