  1. Trying to figure out who is the worse promo - Jade or Sting
  2. Absolutely So is PAC a face now
  3. That Mox promo was aces
  4. MJF & Jericho team again!
  5. lol fair enough. I admit that one of the biggest reasons I like reading about/listening to/watching wrestlers' shoots/podcasts is cuz I find it a bit fun to poke through all the holes in their stories. That has nothing to do with the amazing job TTK is doing in this epic thread to transcribe everything said by people on these podcasts. If I have to blame anyone, I would blame Larry Z and Greg Gagne, since they were the first shoot interviews I ever listened to, and of course they claimed personal credit for every single good and significant thing to have occurred in pro wrestling in the last 50 years
  6. Does anyone else think Arquette is full of shit regarding his memories of the SoCal wrestling scene? Like, I mean, I cannot tell you off the top of my head the SoCal headliners during the 60s and 70s without looking and discussing it over with my friends; however, I didn't grow up there, unlike Arquette. But for him, while recounting his memories, he just happens to remember Georgeous George, who, while obviously having a base in SoCal, had a nationwide presence in the 50s, and then the next thing he remembers is Hulk Hogan and the invading 1980s wrestling presence? I mean I am an Arquette fan and his ex-wife being a Friends star made me explore his entire career in-depth because Friends was really the first Western pop-culture product apart from WWF to really hit it big in India, and I cannot explain in words just how big and important it was. Therefore, please trust me, I have no resentment towards Arquette. But I dunno, this narrative makes me feel he is trying to revise history to make himself more palatable to wrestling fans, for whatever reason
  7. Genuinely think I am the only Indian brother here, and since I am in NYC now, you all will have to wait until I get reports from my friends back home, sorry
  8. Plus, one undisputedly great thing about the rise of AEW has been that wrestlers have more options and that has increased their leverage. We have heard countless stories of wrestlers whom WWE was not paying attention to, suddenly receiving big money offers from Titan cuz AEW expressed interest. And of course AEW would express interest in Shayna.
  9. It would be really stupid of her to stiff Shayna, given Shayna can send her straight to another 6 months off
  10. This is a fucking epic recap, Dave. More effusive praises and specific reactions to follow soon, but just know that this is fucking amazing. TTK is the internet wrestling poster of the year already, and we are not even done with January
  11. It's also hilarious that he is complaining about modern wrestling being too soft when 1) the wrestling style is so much more physical than it was in Taker's heyday; and 2) this is the same dude who whined about Vader's stiff shots and threatened to go to Vince and get Vader fired for being too stiff
  12. To tie the cricket neatly back to wrestling, here's Hunter talking about a sport he almost certainly doesn't understand -
  13. Oh fuck how could I forget this epic victory. My bad, Cook was brilliant in this series
  14. Did anyone catch the Taker Rogan interview where he bemoaned the fact that wrestlers are not manly men drinking and doing drugs the entire night and play video games instead? @Lossmade an excellent tweet chain about it and about how Taker cannot eschew responsibility for the decline of wrestling
  15. Agree with your general point, but I think it's only South Africa who have won test series in Australia this century. India won their previous test series but that was of course during when Smith and Warner were banned due to sandpapergate so it had a massive asterisk next to it
  16. Steve Austin had started working in WCW before Herd was fired. Yes, he wasn't bald then but his transformation is hardly the same as All-American Scott Steiner becoming Big Poppa Pump. Plus, he said he watches wrestling whenever it's on TV these days, and he showed a lot of knowledge about a lot of wrestling personalities that only rose in prominence after he was kicked out. It's absolutely impossible that he doesn't know who Austin is. What, he has the WWE Network and/or watches wrestling on YouTube, thus coming across the Flair interview, but he doesn't know who the biggest draw in wrestling history is? I refuse to buy it
  17. This was absolutely brilliant, TTK. You really da MVP Also, no way does Herd not know who Steve Austin is. Bald headed dude my hairy asshole
  18. I would put it on the level of the Nuggets beating the Clippers last year, or Bron and Wade losing in the finals in 2010.
  19. Jericho needs to stop doing any kind of athletic spots. He is either botching his own moves or being wildly out of position for others' moves. Be the worlds best Abby/Necro instead, he is good enough to extract great mileage from that. I thought this was a weak episode. Not bad at all, and there were some really great things here, like the Hangman/Dark Order shit and Jake and Kingston going at it. But I am very cold on this Omega/Callis/Elite implosion angle, and it had zero progression. Same with Darby/Sting v. Team Taz, although at least Taz cut a great promo, and unlike the former, I am invested in where this leads. The main event was great as a showcase for Sammy but I thought it had too much Hager. If you want Sammy to be the de facto face, don't pair him with fucking Hager! I guess people's opinion of the show will depend on what they think of the Omega/Callis thing. I haven't been impressed or invested in it so far, so this episode left me cold.
  20. Miro's matches has been great lately, but every time he is doing an angle with Superdork, he becomes a total channel-changer. The sooner he lets go of the super-albatross, the better. Sabian can be Penelope's minion
  21. This Cody-Jade-Shaq thing is bad and boring. Shaq hasn't been a celebrity people cared about since about 2004. No one is going to get converted into being an AEW fan cuz fucking Shaq might at some unspecified point in time in the future get involved in some match. End this putrid shit please
  22. At least Taz finally challenged them to an actual match. I love Taz's promos they are solid gold, but as you said, it was basically the same thing every week forever. The street fight thing is intriguing. Sting is probably too old to do anything other than a cinematic match, but I don't think TNT Champion Darby Allin should be partaking in a cinematic match.
  23. Okay the "This is Sting" thing isn't even an iconic WCW call, and certainly not in the top 10 iconic Schiavone calls. Why are they trying to make it happen? Much like Fetch, it's not going to happen
  24. The Luther promo was corny as fuck, but I popped for everything else in that segment. Marked out hard for Brodie Jr channelling his This is your life Rock and admonishing them for not getting his birthday right, and I felt sad when Hangman said no. But what was interesting was that his reason made perfect sense and it got me interested in what happens next, cuz no way is this over yet
  25. This Luther shit is way too corny
