No offense but I'm honestly not sure what you're saying

That's not irony at all

Wasn't the HitC so boring for the live audience that it famously killed the town for subsequent shows?

The grand and pathetic journey of the Undertaker at WrestleMania
MoS replied to El-P's topic in Pro Wrestling
They would acknowledge the streak here and there, but the first time it was a focal point of his match was the Randy Orton match at WM 21. Which incidentally also kickstarted his mini-streak of great matches at WM (I know a lot of people are down on the Henry casket match, but I thought that was a strong match with a Taker tope for the ages)- 206 replies

Big guys with muscle are not necessarily strong, and strength and size are different. Matt Jackson's gimmick however is not that he is really strong; nothing else in his working style lends itself to that. It's what makes him doing Northern lights suplexes so jarring. Given that no one includes that in his highlights package, it's just a vanity spot, like when HBK would go toe to toe with much bigger guys for no reason. Plus, his suplex is shitty. I mean, most of his offence is sloppily executed, but like Page's moonsault, his suplex is just bad.

Young Rock: A New NBC Sitcom About the Life of Dwayne Johnson
MoS replied to C.S.'s topic in Pro Wrestling
I don't disagree, but, there are some instances. For instance, Meryl Streep spoke about it on the stage at an awards' show. Also, this wouldn't be familiar to most people here, but Rihanna recently spoke in favour of the farmers' protests ongoing in India, earning her the ire of the Indian government and it's vast IT cell. She, hilariously, had a summons order in a district court in New Delhi. Of course, raising voices about foreign countries' protests is far easier and more convenient than doing so for your own country. But it does make Rock's vapidness stand out even more. -
Young Rock: A New NBC Sitcom About the Life of Dwayne Johnson
MoS replied to C.S.'s topic in Pro Wrestling
I am not saying he should do any different, and I don't think Charles is saying that either. But I think it's funny that it makes Dwayne Johnson in general - not just in this show and even just in movies - feel bland, inauthentic, and far less charismatic than the gimmick he used to play which first made him a famous star -
Young Rock: A New NBC Sitcom About the Life of Dwayne Johnson

Remember when Hogan appeared on...Leno, was it, teasing a Presidential run, and his response to every single question was "Right now, I am right in the middle." -
Young Rock: A New NBC Sitcom About the Life of Dwayne Johnson
MoS replied to C.S.'s topic in Pro Wrestling
Maybe it's worse when you follow him on social media and are inundated by so much of "chasing your dream" and politically correct persona. I mean, it's the motherfucking Rock. Dude is probably the single most charismatic wrestler to have ever lived. Acting like a generic Instagram influencer seems so underwhelming and both funny and sad. -
Young Rock: A New NBC Sitcom About the Life of Dwayne Johnson
MoS replied to C.S.'s topic in Pro Wrestling
This in particular is so true and perhaps why it's so aggravating. The entire reason for his metamorphosis from Rocky Maivia to The Rock was that the former was too bland, and just not authentic. It feels strange to say this, but Dwayne Johnson talking about CHASING YOUR DREAMS and Working Hard feels faker and more inauthentic than The Rock insulting someone by saying he gets more pie in a night than they do in a lifetime, and how Triple H should check himself into the Smackdown Hotel. He genuinely seemed more real doing fake wrestling bullshit than he did when he endorsed Biden/Harris, where he OF COURSE started by saying he has voted both Democratic and Republican in the past, because God forbid he ever take an actual stand -
Young Rock: A New NBC Sitcom About the Life of Dwayne Johnson
MoS replied to C.S.'s topic in Pro Wrestling
As an Indian, one of my absolute favourite Gordon Ramsay lines is when he once told someone that their steak was "so undercooked, people in India are still worshipping it." Just killed me. Yeah I've had this issue with him for a while. Everything is about how he is a beast, yet he is also a role model who is inspirational and #DoTheWork and #NoPainNoGain and it's just annoying. It's like life has come full circle and The Rock has once again become Rocky Maivia -

This might feel weird, but anyone else feels that The Rock was far more charismatic than Dwayne Johnson is? -
The grand and pathetic journey of the Undertaker at WrestleMania
MoS replied to El-P's topic in Pro Wrestling
Apparently Taker deliberately asked him to try that spot again, cuz he knew Flair had zero confidence, and he wanted Flair to get some of his confidence back. Flair said the same.- 206 replies

It started with Dave and Bryan talking about Brian Caraway the MMA fighter stealing an ATV from his ex, Miesha Tate. Dave with his dry sense of humour asked Bryan if he would ever steal something from his ex, cuz Dave wouldn't. Bryan said "Except for bananas" and Dave got indignant and said "NO, those were MY bananas" and said it happened on the day he broke up with her, but before they broke up, and said "She smashed one on my head first, not in a violent way, more in a joking way, and I smashed one back, also in a joking way" Not sure if this happened the same day when Hogan got on the Hall show but now I am really hoping these are two separate stories with two different exes, cuz it makes the whole thing even more hilarious
-
On the recent WOR Dave recounted a story where he and his girlfriend at the time were playfully bashing each other on the head with bananas and it's the greatest thing I have heard so far in the year

Pretty much the only way they can get people to care about a show that basically nobody except a bunch of boomers watch

Don't think Sasha has ever done that. Strange as it might sound, I would like to see your thoughts on the Sasha-Bayley HitC and the recent Sasha-Carmella matches. Especially in terms of analysing Sasha's performance in terms of EPIC WWE MAIN EVENT style and in terms of carrying a lesser opponent to a good-to-great match while still adhering to the trappings of WWE main event playbook.

There are about 20 women on WWE's roster whom I would rank about Nattie without a single second of thought. If anything, she should feel glad to even be mentioned
-
Yeah, as I said, I was not a fan of the out-of-ring stuff, none of which really hooked me at all. And thank you for pointing out that ridiculous mascot thing; I thought it made zero sense. The matches though were really good imo. And anytime I have Mox and King cutting promos on my screen, I am good
-
Same. I wasn't a fan of the non-ring parts of this episode, but every match was great, and the main event was killer. Also the trademark FMW match for Revolution's main event? It's like they are trolling good brother @NintendoLogic

He has like the best look of any wrestler on TV though

So Omega's gimmick is that he is a moron and a dumbass easily manipulated by people around him in the most transparent way possible. Exactly what you want for your world champ!
-
He really really did. I..I have no words
-
WTF was the point of that shitty skit? Omega is literally the biggest most annoying dork in the world when he is not being restrained by competent bookers
