Bad punches off Lou Thesz press aside, I think Austin's offence was good and clearly a couple of levels above the others you mentioned. But yeah your point overall is absolutely valid and I totally get what you're saying.
-
That's fair. I don't think Sasha's offence looks fake in general though. Maybe the Bank Statement isn't good enough for some fans but as far as her overall offence is concerned, I think it's fine. For example, her strikes are better than Cena's often-comical punches.
-
When has Sasha acted like a big athlete? Her thing is being wrestling-savvy, 'the blueprint' and taking crazy bumps. Most wrestling submissions are hokey, especially if you follow MMA. It wasn't really a big issue with Cena and it isn't an issue here. I mean Undertaker started using a triangle as a finisher and used it in the main event of a WrestleMania and it was so fake, his legs literally would never come near the neck. Jumbo and Stan did not use submissions.
-
I am not sure if this is on Sasha or if her instincts are bad. I think it has to do with all promos being heavily scripted, and WWE sucking ass at scripting babyface promos (and babyfaces in general.)
-
I don't watch so I have no opinion one way or another, but I am curious to hear what you guys think about this -

Oh, my man, I wish I had as sunny an outlook on life as you do. Not saying Corny is one of them, but there are absolutely people who revel in their racism and no amount of "educating them" could change that.
-
Omega-PAC ironman had a dq as a fall, but yeah, as you said, there have been no dq finishes in AEW history.
-
I really think it's too early to take the title off Mox right now. His world title promos are the best in the business. They have done a good job building intrigue for next week's main event though
-
People keep referring to AEW as this workrate promotion when honestly, it's biggest appeal is that top to bottom, it has the best promos of any pro wrestling promotion since JCP in the mid-80s.

Taz is the fucking King. What the fuck is Miro doing backstage though? Miro's debut has been handled so awfully and terribly for this world championship match.
-
I said it cuz the ones talking about him being heel were English people I follow like Allan, who also posts here. Not saying that the British did not like him; as you said, he was so good and so charismatic, it was almost impossible to not like him.
-
He was a heel to the English, and that's about it. Everyone else loved him. Like a 10,000 bigger version of 1997 Bret Hart

Rest in peace Diego Maradona you absolute king

Nope, they were sell-outs. Fewer tickets were put on sale, as I mentioned, but they were sold out. We had a discussion about this a few months back - https://forums.prowrestlingonly.com/topic/35718-comments-that-dont-warrant-a-thread-part-4/?do=findComment&comment=5918782

Not advocating for Omega either way, but I think the best argument for that would be his first match with Jericho which sent NJ World subscriptions skyrocketing worldwide, and also led to more foreigners attending the Tokyo Dome shows, which meant NJ started selling them out for the first time in almost decades, although this was with fewer tickets being put up for sale.

Bron wants his own Last Dance documentary, brother

I checked it out and I liked it a lot. Although - and I know this is tangential, but still - the Teddy Long story and Taker's reaction to him "making a profit" made me laugh at how all these conservative GOP wrestlers are against the evils of communism and socialism and all for freedom of enterprise, except when someone not as powerful as they engages in it, at which point they are all about redistribution of resources haha
-
Not getting all the praise for Roman-Drew. Thought it was a solid match with a good finishing stretch, nothing more.

How is the new Austin Taker interview? Are there any new stories/tidbits/discussion worth checking out? The first one was great but that was also because Taker had not done a proper out-of-kayfabe interview for the longest time. Now he is everywhere, doing more interviews than the fucking Rock. I dunno if this new interview will tread any new ground.
-
I swear Taker has had more farewells than Terry Funk has had retirements

Apparently he was also a dick to Jake when his rehab was ongoing which he supposedly admitted on Reddit. Also apparently would send pics in his undies to women on Twitter and then later laugh it off This does not maae the bullying or the gaslighting right; as I mentioned above, there should still be an investigation about this, and everyone involved should be held accountable. But because he went from mega-face to super-heel so quickly, I don't think people are going to push the powers-that-be to do something about it. He just lost all sympathy and did so very quickly. It's unfortunate, but it is what it is
-
Fwiw, he made his account private. To go from having 4k likes on a tweet, with everyone expressing sympathy, to getting dragged over the coals for the many many shitty things he said, enough to lock his account, within 12 hours is a spectacularly steep fall from grace. Imo the DDP company should still be investigated because pieces of shit can also be bullied and treated unfairly. But unfortunately, nothing will come out of this because his past actions cooked his goose and people stopped sympathising with him.

Beginning to see why people didn't want this guy around
-
LMAO I forgot this is wrestling and there are absolutely zero good people here I get the "edgy Twitter comedian" thing, but the Cody tweet is just from 2 years ago, and that is a pretty good reason for disliking someone
-
If true, it is really petty and terrible. Also, is the 6'5" guy DDP?
