  1. Oh I know you were not saying it. I was just thinking out loud in terms of their prospective plans for NXT India, sorry for the confusion
  2. Urgh Carmella. Sorry, Mella is money and everything yada yada yada, but Sasha deserves so much better, even for a B-level PPV
  3. His matches have not been GOAT level, but in my opinion his promos and builds and selling of angles and storylines have been of that level and I don't think any babyface world champ has felt so cool and easy to cheer for since Austin/Rock. That's probably an indictment of modern wrestling and the terrible way they book babyfaces in general more than a compliment to Mox, perhaps
  4. I will say this though: I dunno how well Vince and the WWE brass understand middle-east/south Asian dynamics, but if they think Mansoor would be a beloved local hometown face in India, then they are kind of deluded. Not saying he cannot get cheered or anything, but that would be a really stupid presumption.
  5. The best wrestling thing this year has been Mox's run as the best babyface world champ since Austin in 1998, but Reigns has been so great too. Roman and Sasha are so far ahead of everyone in WWE, it's not even funny
  6. He certainly didn't shit all over similar spots - and unrealistic angles - during the attitude era and during his WWF/WWE stint in general. He would at least try to put it over instead of acting as if he was above it and publicly burying it.
  7. Thanks man. It's a weird time to look for employment in the US but paradoxically, for me, it was also the best time for me to do higher studies cuz I am a lawyer and my post-grad degree is one year, so if there was one year I could take off from work and study and generally enjoy, it was this academic year. Maybe if American employment doesn't work out, I rejoin my law firm as an associate in India and get some kind of season tickets for NXT India, with Khali as the general manager or something. But still, objectively, I think it's not a great idea. The depth of youngsters trying to become pro wrestlers in India is just not good enough for them to have an entire sub-promotion dedicated to it. People like watching wrestling here and buying tickets to watch an occasional WWE show, I am not sure if there are people - especially good athletic people - clamouring to be pro wrestlers. The last time they went to India, they had Jinder as the world champ and they were going to do back-to-back shows in Delhi. They must have thought the tickets would sell themselves for both shows but they didn't. Jinder was not a draw, and clearly the WWE brand was not a draw. Ultimately they cancelled one show and had just one show, and put Triple H in the main event against Jinder (of course Hunter went over.) They ultimately got a hot crowd but I don't even know if it was a sell-out.
  8. I legit don't think we have enough people clamouring to be wrestlers right now for this to be viable, especially in 2020. But India is their 3rd biggest market (and adjusting for per capita disposable income, India is their biggest market) so it does make sense for them to try and capitalise on this. Khali has a local promotion here that runs shows, so I am guessing they will take wrestlers from there and teach them how to properly work by making them do exhausting, debilitating weight training and repetitive strength and conditioning training drills** **I might be biased and extremely salty because they start regular wrestling shooting in India the year I shifted to NYC for my studies (and employment if I get a good one) and during a pandemic when there will be no live wrestling shows in the NY area cuz of COVID?!?!?!?!!?! FUCK THIS
  9. From what I have seen, she has quite a few detractors in Cageside comments as well, so this is far from a PWO thing
  10. haha I am glad to see I am not the only one who thought this episode was weak and that the Omega/Callis partnership under-delivered on this Dynamite episode. I like what I like and I won't make any apologies for it, but the Twitter consensus has been so overwhelming in the opposite direction, I was beginning to feel like I am a WWE fanboy who just hates AEW; and anyone who has seen my posts about WWE and AEW knows that is not the case haha
  11. Charlotte as the modern Randy Orton is actually one of the best on-point analogies I have seen recently. I know good bubba KawadaSmile likes Orton a lot more than Charlotte, but it just fits
  12. The main event was a really good match with a really lame finish. This was the weakest Dynamite episode in a long time. I liked the Inner Circle stuff and Kingston and Archer are always a great watch, but I didn't like so many of the segments and some potential directions of angles.
  13. I am sure a lot of Omega fans will praise this promo to high heavens, but I thought it was a weak, lame promo. The idea that this is the new Bock-Heenan is genuinely insulting in my opinion. Callis was still fine, Omega was just bad
  14. I like Abadon but this is the 2nd week in a row they have booked their world champ to be scared/unnerved. Shida is so awesome but has been booked really badly. It's really an absolute tragedy. I think the best thing to do for the women's title is to put it on Britt ASAP, cuz she is the only star in the women's division right now
  15. I think it's the heel turn that was not really a heel turn cemented her as a top face. The promos she cut as a supposed heel pushed her to the next level, and then the happy accident with getting her nose busted pushed her to the highest level. I guess you can say that it would never have worked had fans not resented Charlotte as a face, but I feel that's a different argument and indeed, it reinforces my point.
  16. I assume they tried to do something like "match follows promo follows match follows promo" but there is a reason these are not hard and fast rules. The Cody-Sting segment and the Shaq-Brandi segment should have been a lot more spaced out
  17. Agreed with this. But this Inner Circle segment is really good
  18. Why can Brandi not decide whether she wants to be a face or a heel? This is so annoying. This is the worst Dynamite episode in a long time
  19. That Sting segment was so pointless
  20. Is the show live or taped? If taped they might have sweetened it
  21. I would say, yes, it's a fact. Also the big 4 came up simultaneously, so it's really unfair to say that they wouldn't have got over as much without Charlotte. Hell, I think Sasha would have been much more over much more quickly if Charlotte had not beaten her like a drum in every important match. Becky was also getting over with the groundswell of fan support with or without Charlotte
  22. The Tony Khan heel thing was absolutely deliberate. Khan is a big wrestling nerd and I am sure he was paying tribute to Vince's excellent heel promos in 1993 Memphis
  23. I know I pick on Charlotte a lot, but seriously, can she ever in good faith claim she does the same with the people she works with? Sasha and Bayley absolutely can.
  24. Sting, Omega, Don Callis, all going to talk
