I like Page's theme song more than I like him.

It's like Ricky Morton heard about Cody being the best babyface in years and decided to come back.

"unarming..or disarming, whatever" is JR even trying at all

Thanks! Smelling strands of hair and keeping them as a souvenir is a bit much, but I'm always happy when Kong destroys people

I'm glad they removed Baker from the title picture.

Anyone knows how many tickets they ended up selling?

Jericho has always talked about how being world champ for a couple of hours on Raw one night in 2000 got him over because for a brief while, he was world champ. Given Dusty's history of short reigns, maybe they feel a short title run will solidify his status as top babyface, and then the belt can go back to Jericho and Cody can later take it from him in an epic build. Perhaps MJF will turn on Cody in some kind of rematch with Jericho and Cody will transition to an MJF feud. And of course the match beyond.

I'm just glad he has changed his music and no one announces him as The Best Bout Machine anymore.

AEW has done a lot of things right, but I feel they did not promote the Omega-Mox match properly. At least not as well as they could and should have. Hopefully the reaction to Cody's incredible promo means they start giving more interview and promo time to wrestlers to promote their feuds as well as get over.

WWE TV 11/04 - 11/10 Fish are really smart animals, they avoid oil spots in the sea
MoS replied to KawadaSmile's topic in WWE
I read a recap of Smackdown, and in my opinion Roman should absolutely not be doing a job to Baron Corbin. It does not matter how much he has improved, to me he screams midcard for life and he should not be pinning Roman. -
Got it. Brandi's promo losing viewers is fine according to me because promos and segments are essential for long-term development of characters, even if in the short term it leads to ratings losses. However, Shawn Spears is not working. I agree with El-P's point about how his feud with Cody and Tully getting involved made sense in that particular context, but in general that gimmick and pairing is perhaps not working. Not sure how interesting the Janela feud will be but trying to take out his tongue on AEW Dark was a bit too much for me. Perhaps a feud with Darby Allin where he is used to put over someone with potential is the best use of him.

Maybe I misread it, but the next quarter featuring the end of that match and Jericho's video gained the viewers? I do not know how ratings are exactly calculated per quarter, but I assumed Jericho's vid brought some viewers back, although not close to as much as the previous segment lost.

Not to mention the infamous Vince Jedi mind trick.

Fair. It will be interesting to see if there is any spike in ticket sales for Full Gear after Dynamite, which built the PPV well. Reading the Observer, they had about 1500 tickets unsold as of Wednesday I think, which is not great news.
-
AEW is still extremely young and I think is the first non-WWE American promotion in the century to get thousands of fans attending their weekly shows. WWE getting only 4000 for the shooting of an American institution like Monday Night Raw is much more problematic than Dynamite getting 4000 for an episode imo.

Reading the Observer, the Dark Order match lost a lot of viewers. It's a bad gimmick that needs to go away.

I think AEW will get a boost next week cuz of the PPV but they will have to book the aftermath very carefully. This is a good chance for them to show that actions have consequences in AEW, for instance. It's why it's a bit surprising that they essentially put themselves in a tight corner with the stipulation that Cody will never challenge for the world title again if he loses to Jericho at Full Gear, although Cody's promo and Jericho's video were so good, no way am I missing that match.

Yeah, using the n-word is bullshit and unacceptable and the fact that racism was entrenched in wrestling is not an excuse. I don't think Cornette himself makes excuses for using the term now - although he wrote a whiny post in the early 90s about how it was unfair he couldn't call a black man the n-word during a fight without getting criticised - so the fact that some of his fans would try and explain it is unfortunate.

822,000 AEW and 815,000 NXT. Clearly the NXT invasion of the main roster and the main roster invasion of NXT led to a spike in ratings for NXT. It makes me think they might have actually beaten AEW had they advertised on Raw that Styles and the OC might be at Full Sail on Wednesday, instead of running a program on social media before NXT started and hoping Twitter would make fans tune in. I think it's a healthy number for both promotions and given how ratings are declining for main roster WWE shows, it's a good sign that both NXT and AEW have a product that fans are willing and wanting to follow. Next week with the European tour, will NXT be taped or live? And will the NXT UK wrestlers also be featured?

I remember Meltzer once saying that Rock randomly messaged him once cuz he was watching old Memphis wrestling and he was really loving some worker and wanted to know who it was.
-
Really loving how much attention and praise Cody's promo is getting. https://twitter.com/TheRock/status/1192466512222674944?s=19

To be fair to him, he gave Cody mad props on Twitter and has been digging the Jericho-Cody feud quite a lot.

A War Games match might be where they pull the trigger on MJF turning on Cody. It's nice and fun to fanboy all over wrestling again. I thought WWE's years of screwing fans had left a permanent bad taste in my mouth but I've really been digging AEW so far and Full Gear will be awesome.
