You know, these are good predictable insults by MJF, but the moment Punk picked the mic, he felt like he was more than a level beyond

It's all Roman's fault -

Russo vacated the title too. And surely the fact that he won as a face makes it worse? I get the point about him being a roided freak, but he had never been presented as remotely credible in the ring. He would barely get any offence against any wrestler, and when he would, they would usually no-sell it. It wouldn't be an exaggeration to say that Shane McMahon was booked as ten times tougher and more credible a year later, even though he looked far more like Russo/Arquette than his dad. The point about Vince being the number one heel in the promotion and part of the hottest feud of the decade is very valid, but as Loss also pointed out, Bobby Heenan, Jim Cornette, and Jimmy Hart had also at various points in time been the number one heel in their respective promotions; it would have been a disaster for any of them to hold the belt either. Russo and Arquette winning was worse, but the Vince win isn't even talked as being in the same ballpark of bad booking decisions. It's barely spoken of at all. I think a lot of it has to do with WWF being really hot in 1999 due to Austin and then Rock, and as NintendoLogic said, history is written by the victors. In an alternative universe where WCW wins the war, the Rise and Fall of WWF documentary would probably have an extensive segment on Vince winning the title and WWF champion Big Show feuding and fighting over his dad's casket. -

@Loss on Twitter generated quite a debate when he said he isn't sure whether the worst of present-day WWE isn't as bad as latter-day WCW (this emerged from Meltzer saying that the worst of modern WWE still doesn't touch the worst of latter-day WCW) and it is a very interesting debate to have. One had more illogical booking and less good in-ring stuff, the other has a more crushing sense of statism, the feeling of an unending treadmill, where nothing moves, it's an endless assembly line of content where there are no stakes, nothing matters, no consequences, no reward. Both treated their fans like crap. He also raised an interesting question about why McMahon winning the WWF title in 1999 (as a face too) isn't considered as bad as Russo and Arquette winning the WCW title. -
Meanwhile, the Great One continues to troll

HAHAHAHAHHAHAJAA give him his own wing in every single wrestling hall of fame, GOAT stuff

I am amazed how they couldn't get Rock to do even like a 2-minute pre-taped video. Not even a TikTok. The man got the entire Survivor Series PPV to revolve around him and his terrible latest film (I watched it just a week back and I barely remember the story, that's how bad it was) and he gave them less time than he does his Instagram. What a King. This has to add significantly to his GWE case.

He will lose it in a triple threat where he never gets pinned while some authority figure is causing shenanigans at ringside
-
Wrong guy won, and a clean finish was definitely wrong. Big E single-handedly got the crowd into the match and then lost clean. But since when has WWE booking ever been good or logical.
-
The crowd came alive once Roman's awful heat segment stopped and Big E started kicking out and making his comeback. Match was a bore before that. The crowd either want a Big E win or a Rock return, they have no interest in the match
-
Lol what? It is and remains a completely dead crowd. The match isn't good either
-
Why did Roman tell the fans to shut up when they are barely making any noise in the first place
-
Reading and following all of this without watching is hilarious. I have been laughing at some of these so hard
-
I know someone will yell at me for this being PWO, but I have to say, there's a far better brawl that happened on the other channel to interest you wrestling fans -
-
Rock managing to get out of Vince McMahon's clutches and now pretty much making the old man use one of his marquee pay-per-views as a vehicle to promote his (unfortunately) shitty Hollywood movie is, all things considered, the greatest W by any professional wrestler in the long history of our great sport.

What are you even talking about. I didn't say you said QT will make him look bad. I was talking about you justifying this booking instead of a match with a young JTTS or a big star with "If they booked Punk against a high-profile opponent and the ratings are bad due to Thanksgiving, then the opponent and the match will look bad", which is exactly how WWE fans often justify bad matchups. Your other points I have no issue with, cuz you just like watching QT far more than I do.
-
It was actually funny to me precisely for that reason. I wanted to make a joke about how you finally forgiving all those Wrestlemania self-conscious epics had evidently finally made you a part of the WWE Universe
-
This is a lot of rambling to try and justify QT getting some further undeserved TV time instead of a JTTS they could actually push later. Notice how no one wanted a star v. star match or was trying to argue there shouldn't be jobbers on the show. You are arguing against imaginary points here. It does require some very bad coke to give QT that spotlight in Chicago after the start of a hot program, and it takes even worse coke to justify it with "putting someone else will make them look bad because they are going to do bad in the ratings!" This is true head-scratching WWE brain thinking, to justify not featuring someone good cuz they might be unfairly scapegoated by idiots.

CM Punk v. QT Matshall?? I know it's Thanksgiving and TK usually takes he hiday and pre-empted episodes as a break and does random shit in those episodes, but really? Punk v. Marshall, 4 days after Darby v. Billy? Someone check on the quality of his coke, surely he isn't getting some fake stuff.

He was so handsome when he was young and not perennially pissed off

Poor Top Dolla picked a fight with the Bucks AND Indian fans on Twitter after his "diss track" on Jinder or whatever it was, really doubling down on being a good soldier, only to have his entire team released in a matter of weeks. On the plus side, this does leave him some time to figure out what "maharaja" means.
