I don't think Punk-Kingston is ending, at least I hope not. No immediate rematch, but Kingston referenced Punk constantly in his promo. MJF constantly mentioned wrestling for the world title too, so I think (hope?) that would be the world title program, and Punk and Kingston will go back to theirs. I don't mind no immediate rematches, as long as they get back to each other soon.

Yeah I don't give a shit about Lethal either. Apart from that though, a tremendous show, set up some intriguing feuds while keeping Punk-Kingston 2 and Hangman-MJF simmering in the background. Hangman v. Dick Danielson is going to be great. This might have been their best post-PPV show in history.

Hahaha that was perfect

Punk clearly just hates New York wrestlers

How long have they been teasing Arn v. Tully now?

How is this Hardy Family Office still a thing. How are Orange and Ishii and I guess eventually Okada being wasted on this shit. This actively drags down every single person involved, urgh

JR compared Matt Hardy to Paulie Walnuts and I want to strangle him

Eddie Kingston continues to do tremendous work every week, that was great

I have a feeling this title defence will be at their big Long Island taping in early December

I hope Dragon makes Hangman watch ringside while he breaks Page's friends' limbs every week

Loving this match so much

He is so great lol. "OF COURSE VIRGINIA BOOS HARD WORK"
-
I know it's his hometown, but Hangman has now got Moxley and Danielson booed when they go against him
-
Is there a context to this "Virginia is for Lovers" shirt?

There was a stretch in the mid-00s when Survivor Series was on absolute fire, arguably the best of the non-WM PPVs. I remember Team Austin v. Team Bischoff with Austin's career on the line to be tremendously well-booked and also drew a massive number. Of course Austin was back within like 6 weeks of the supposed end of his career. Shit like that eventually killed off all stipulations as entirely meaningless.

I think JYD should be a no-brainer of an induction. I know there had been black main eventers before, but he was the first true black ace of a proper major territory, he turned New Orleans into a major wrestling town, and drew massive numbers for 4 years. He should be in for drawing and influence. He also had a good run as a top 3 babyface in the early Hulkamania years before his drugs and diet got the better of him. There are plenty of wrestlers who have had far worse declines on the national stage, but it seems the Dog will not get his due unlike them, because they did not have years of snarky Meltzer addressing them a mocking nickname. It's his hall of fame, what he has said and written obviously matters.

lol it's like he is almost baiting the fed to punish his daughter if they can

He is studying the vegan diet to try and beat the man who was kind enough to inform us all that apples are actually tree semen

Is there any such thing as a non-quack chiropractor.

I wouldn't be surprised if TK just decides to go with Eddie-Punk as the modern version of Austin-Bret. That feud has a lot of legs left and it definitely feels like it's Punk's first proper feud back.

Yeah I think this is probably the bigger "issue" (to the extent that anything was an issue in the main event) in the match more than the 30-second Bucks spot which genuinely paid off some long-running arcs and created a few new ones for the next PPV cycle. When I eventually rewatch the match, now that I know the outcome and can focus on other things, my critique of the match probably will be the insane spots they did which would barely get a 2-count, and the fact that both men would eat a bunch of bombs and then simply reverse the next bomb to get on offence, instead of meaningfully done, well-earned transitions. Hangman looked great though, which was pretty much the only thing that mattered in the end. Sort of reminded me how both main events of WrestleMania 21 were kind of duds, especially Hunter-Batista that went way too long and had too much of Hunter on offence and Batista selling, but the most, the only important thing was that they pulled the trigger convincingly in both matches. This match was obviously better than those two WM 21 matches, but it wasn't the best match of the night, which was by some distance Punk v. Kingston, and I would argue that MJF-Darby was the second best match of the night, with either the main event or the tag title match being the 3rd best.

I genuinely don't know a single fan who likes all these unnecessarily long matches or who thinks these PPV matches need so much time. Or goes "Wow, only a 3.5 hour show? That sucks, I'm getting ripped off!" Seems like Tony Khan is the only person who wants these shows to be 4 hours long

I'll be very honest, one reason it worked for me was cuz Danielson winning had made the outcome in actual doubt for me, and I really REALLY wanted Hangman to win lol. So when the ref bump happened and the Bucks walked down like they have done for every Omega match, I was genuinely expecting them to interfere and do some shit. So the twist of them not interfering like they usually do was a nice surprise and totally got me. I can justify the booking of the spot with everything I said about paying off arcs and long-term storytelling, but really, the main reason it worked for me was cuz I got worked lol. Simple as that. I genuinely can't remember the last match where I was so invested in the actual result of the match, it has been so so many years.
