  1. I don't know, I think the unfocused points where Punk would steer off into different directions was OK as it didn't feel as though he was leaving important details out anywhere. It really was like he had been holding his breathe all that time and he frantically needed to get things off his chest. I've listened to it twice now, and Colt really does just sit back on this: which was the right thing to do I think.
  2. I found myself rolling my eyes when he spoke of the sponsored ring gear deal. Sure, it would have resulted in more money for guys: but I never want to see the day when costumes become advertising space. We all know the story with Brock so comparisons shouldn't be made. But on the whole I found it fun to listen to, the guy is effortlessly easy to sit back and sip a coffee to.

    Goldberg

For my money, the best squash match wrestler was early Sid...
  4. Godfather invited me to his strip club in Vegas via Twitter, so he get's my vote.
  5. Vince and Jesse hosting Saturday Nights Main Event was golden. Perhaps my favourite ever pairing behind the cans.
  6. I think it was more of a one sided thing. I seem the remember Jesse stating the reason being that JR was jealous of his wage.
  7. That reads like a pitch for a movie I really, really want to see now. Broken Legs and Feeling Boobs: The Johnny Sorrow Story. I'd throw some money towards a Kickstarter...
  8. I thought this would be a nice bit of fun as I have just finished reading an essay (in short) about how we tend to look at the time period when you first fell in love with rose tinted glasses. The essay was geared to a connection with music, but seeing as that is secondary to me... ;-) My first girlfriend was in 1999 and I have great memories of that time period. In relation to wrestling, I'm sure this probably did help me enjoy what is in hindsight some dubious wrestling. I was so happy in life, I have very specific memories of coming home from dates to watch my recorded Raw's and monotone Rock speeches!
  9. He's been with the Guardian Angels for about 10 years now. Didn't Big Boss Man do work with them as well once upon a time or am I imagining that as part of storylines?
  10. He had a midcard feud with Jericho which was fun for what it was. On this subject, here's part of a post I made here a while ago: Goldberg not being able to work a "normal" length match is about as much of a myth as Goldberg wearing Goldust's wig for a split second ruined him.
  11. So it's the square pegs fault, not the tight round holes?
  12. In all of your post, you neglected to mention why you think this.
  13. Slice, as I said in my original post, Heyman could have and likely did want to book that match, however I shoot down the notion Hayabusa and Shinzaki were "replacements". Not having a pop at you, more so Heyman for saying it. The HW98 tag was part of a talent exchange programme with FMW, AJPW had nout to do with it. It seems at best Heyman is merging two different stories into one.
  14. But there was no relationship between ECW and AJPW and AJPW were not agents for Hayabusa / Shinzaki.

    Current WWE

Just watch the preview of it in the Shoots thread. Stuff like him claiming he had a locker room confrontation with all 3 of the Shield and bitched them out, acting like he's some long time veteran shaking his head at the new kids, claiming that he put together a lot of Del Rio's matches. Ricardo is full of shit. This. That RF shoot was unbearable.
  16. Asked who? There was a working relationship between ECW and FMW, not AJPW. Heyman could have wanted Kobashi / Misawa, but Kobashi was out with a knee injury for the Summer of 1998 which some believed would put him out for quite some time (and his last match was dropping the Triple Crown to Misawa incidentally). Would have been great to see at that time however if the planets were aligned differently.
  17. Shawn Michaels vs Undertaker in late 1997 / early 1998 was brilliant. Two mainstays for the best part of a decade who had never really touched, worked wonders together in the ring and produced some great build ups and angles and three brilliant PPV matches, with obviously the HITC match being head and shoulders above the rest. The two classics a decade later is the icing on the cake.
  18. It's a 25 minute preview on the Network, for the record.
  19. Memphis library ownership is far too screwed up to likely see the light of day on such a mainstream platform.
  20. Apart from the unfortunate sweat marks, they're actually brilliant. Even if they're not to your taste, ranking them amongst the worst is mental.
  21. Yes that was the reason Pete. Green, red and blue are key colors for contrast. I seem to remember something about them not working well with each other though from my old school days. An example of red apples on green trees comes to mind but I'm not sure. Mr Vidage would be most disappointed in me. Anyway, there are a tonne of those photos online from the same set of different wrestlers, quite cool.
  22. I've been using message boards / user groups on and off since the late 90's. I'm nowhere into the scene as what I used to be due to family these days. But from my experience, users make the boards. I have seen some fine communities crumble due to a few good eggs leaving and a few bad eggs coming in and putting their feet on the table. From there, the remaining decent posters silently leave the community due to the bad smell.
  23. Great gift Coffee. Perhaps Dibiase (Houston era) to go with Doc?
  24. Yes, WWE harping on at the price of the network rather than what you get for your money is a real head scratcher and has been for a while now.
