  2. Agreed of course that this was great. One weird thing was the announcers not understanding Juvi's motivation right away - it's obvious that he wanted revenge on Jericho and felt this was the best way to get it. Which makes sense - screw him over, have him lose the belt, make him look like an idiot. But the announcers were mostly, "I guess he wants to be supportive of another human being!" Hurt the feel a bit, as they could have put this over as a plan to end the reign of terror.
  3. Yeah, the Triple Threat felt way too gullible here.
  4. Nikki is getting pretty decent. Her offense looks credible and she has a good cover (almost too good - AJ doesn't kick out strong enough to make it look right).
  5. That ladder match was a lot of fun. This tag match is pretty whatever.
  6. Not many cities left where straight heeling on Italians would get that kind of heat. Especially going with some VERY old school insults. As an Italian... it still didn't make me want to see Chris Chetti do anything, so glad this cut off before the match.
  7. I vaguely remember this MTV thing. It definitely involved the Gary Cherone era Van Halen.
  8. I'm surprised we don't get at least the end of the main event here, which is really bizarre, as the wrestlers surround the ring and hoist Douglas on their shoulders after he wins a really plodding match. Very forced and weak.
  9. TV studio wrestling in 1998 feels really anachronistic - makes it hard for me to get into these Memphis matches.
  10. I clicked on #100, Chris Jericho v. Triple H at Fully Loaded. It just loaded up the PPV.
  11. Pretty sure they were not. In fact, they filled in some gaps in late 94 and early 95 that had never aired on 24/7.
  12. It is random and fantastic that they set this to Wonderful Tonight.
  13. This was an interesting match to watch, as it's really hard to get back in the mindset where a lot of the angle here (the Montreal references, the authority figure, the bickering announcers) were not cliched, but still fresh. It's a reminder of why all these things became cliches - because there was a time when they worked and built a lot of heat. Agreed that Foley seemed a bit lost out there as a heel Dude - he's not really a threat. The bumps are great, but it's weird to hear Ross scream "He's broken in half!" after the one to the steps, as we know a MUCH bigger bump from Mick is on the way only a couple of months after this.
  14. "He's a one eyed monster!" Hehe. Didn't seem like a great match, but some cool visuals for sure.
  15. This was fabulously weird. Also, pretty sure this is the 30th promo referencing a "shoot" this year.
  16. The wait for a Taz-Douglas match really sent Taz's character off the rails.

  18. If this happens to Foley, they never do the Owen stunt.
  19. I mean, I know they want to transition Ambrose to Bray, but why couldn't they finish the friggin' blood feud? They build something that legitimately feels like the Cell is an appropriate climax, and then they don't bother to give us the climax!
  20. A bit of a self-conscious epic but an excellent one. Not sure how I feel about this finish...
  21. Well called.
  22. Looks like the next Monday Night Wars is a full one on the Chris Jericho jump.
  23. This is interminable.
  24. Subscriber since day one. It's a fine value based on the PPVs, but not using it much other than that.
  25. They appear to be adding Raw episodes again. The Wednesday schedule has three of them. Maybe there's a big upload coming?
