  1. Yeah that Anderson/Gilbert match stuck out to me too. James has that on his 90 WCW set so going to check it out. I've really enjoyed Woman in 1990 so far. This was no exception.
  2. Gotta echo what Parv, soup, Kevin Ridge and others said here. Vince did a great job putting over the card.
  3. Look at that improvement - he figured out it was "draw" eight months later. I like that he wrote "Nick is the winner" - wonder if he was referring to himself there since the card was so good. Pretty cool
  4. It's the results you'd find on the site.
  5. It's the website, only organized all in one place (this is not a negative!) and it is easy to follow. Small print, yes, but the layout is solid. Oh man, that's so awesome. If that's cheapish in any way, shape or form, it's the next thing I'm buying. $23 at the moment - solid price and Graham hopefully makes a couple bucks for his very hard work. http://amzn.to/1fexkMT
  6. He very well could have had a guaranteed signed contract so if that was the case, no reason not to use him.
  7. Quick and easy. Looking forward to the match here
  8. Really impressed with Travis here and he takes some crazy bumps in this one. This one starts fast and Jarrett gets most of the offense in. DDT on the table and fortunately (it was half-open and would have hurt somebody) Lawler moved the chair before Jarrett hit the piledriver on the floor. Tombstone back inside was pretty great too. Lawler gets pissed on commentary that Jarrett is using his moves and we get the big brawl to end things. Wildly fun and can't miss stuff.
  9. Having watched the Clash match prior to this, I wasn't sure what to expect so I was completely surprised by how awesome the match and crowd was here. Even after a fun shine sequence to start they still settled into a more traditional tag then and the heels got just enough in to make them still seem like a threat. Solid FIP sequence with Flair, who was the right guy for this as Sting was just bananas over here. Things get a little out of control outside so Cornette can sell why a cage is needed and it works. Flair and Sawyer beating the shit out of each other - with Dragon Master almost caught by surprise with a tag and Flair swinging at him - was tremendous. I know the Clash match was to really get the angle over and that works much more for me now after seeing how awesome this was. Just great.

  11. Great show but come on guys, the cherry on top is the loop of Ranger Ross commentary at the end. Parv's hollow "...it's Ranger Ross!" stuff is great.
  12. WCW Jan - March 2001 could be argued to be on par with any other period from any other US promotion in terms of in ring and being entertaining. (Obviously this is totally subjective). That's quite a statement and I'm intrigued to see what El-P says as he goes through it.
  13. Andre tries to explain his strategy for dealing with fellow family members but Mooney cuts off the interview after stirring the pot. Made me laugh as he walked off still trying to get across his point.
  14. Funny enough, I'm not alone in catching the close-up of Sherri's ass before they flip to the hard camera. Savage does a couple axe handles from the turnbuckle here and of course rocks the airplane spin before getting disoriented and falling to the outside. I often forget that back in 1990 they would play for the count out win so Savage is noticeably upset when Sherri's attempt to keep Piper on the outside results in a DQ win for the Hot Rod.
  15. Awesome. I love toy commercials from back around this time. I'm out of the loop but can't imagine they are as amped up now as they were in 1990.
  16. We start with Hogan's entrance at 25. Not much to add, but Ventura is gold just slagging on Warrior for his stupidity in the match. "He's an idiot!" as Warrior charges to the back is hilarious. The thought the crowd ate up the big Hogan/Warrior showdown. Worked for me and I always chuckle at the running of the ropes. Good bumping around by Mr. Perfect, especially that elimination one over the turnbuckle to the outside.
  17. Just finished watching this for the first time. I always assumed they got on the PPV because no one did double duty back then and the Rumble was loaded. Had to fill out the card I guess. Have to give the Orlando crowd credit - they gave Garvin a nice pop (Valentine's wasn't shabby either) on his entrance and when he won. After watching Valentine in '79 of late, and Garvin through the late 80s in JCP - this was a lot of fun to watch as both guys slapped and beat the shit out of each other. Plus they had a nice running battle going for number of attempted pin attempts in a submission match. Shame is - had it been just a regular match, some of those pinning combinations were pretty decent. It does get kind of funny when even after they start using submissions, they still revert back to trying for pins and the ref has to tell them again. I liked them going for them early as it did make sense that they had to overcome that instinct. Big props to Garvin for his selling, especially on offense at the end. And his facial expressions and body language overall really fit in with 1990 WWF. I thought he was awesome here. Some cool storytelling with the braces also.
  18. I was clearing out some of my WTBBP backlog and just finished this one. Fantastic stuff - hoping Sarp is already scheduled for a future show. Has Flair/Meltzer or anyone ever spoken out on how they were going to use the electrified cage?
  19. Holy shit. Mankind was already over like a mother when he was main eventing against Michaels in 96 and during his feud with Taker. Helped *each other* get over, for fuck sake. The context may have been more about a push towards the main event, although Mick talks about how they pushed each other also. Definitely agree that Mick had a leg up going into that feud (but it was pretty good nonetheless).
  20. Interestingly enough, on his new DVD HHH does mention the Foley stuff from 1997. They either cut (for time reasons) out or he ignored the 2000 stuff. He talked about how they both helped get each other over in '97 with that long-running feud.
