My theory is he's trying really hard to be Big E Langston (on twitter)
  2. Twitter is funny - well the names are some times. So Vance is @MrBeefyGoodness . So that looked weird without context tonight.
  3. As you'll notice from the updated logo - it's actually Dave and Dylan's faces in the picture (and I forget your friend who is the ref - my apologies)! Cool work by Dave in mocking that up. http://placetobenation.com/wrestling-cultu...4-vance-nevada/
  4. Thanks Parv, Justin, Pete and Cheapshot. Appreciate it and glad you enjoyed our work. Tons of fun. As the boys wrap 1990, got a nice update from our friend TWF Dave for PTBN:
  5. I feel like HHH himself wouldn't want to oppose Dylan on this podcast.

  7. Giving the people what they want!
  8. In new episode of the PTB Podcast, Scott and Justin are joined by Nate Milton and Greg Phillips to review the world of wrestling in 2013! They tally the Nation's votes and announce the Match of the Year, Wrestler of the Year and much, much more! So fire up this action packed episode and join Scott, Justin, Greg and Nate because it is time for another edition of the PTB Podcast! http://placetobenation.com/place-to-be-pod...year-in-review/
  9. I can imagine this being like what ESPN2 does with ESPNRadio AM shows. And I'd definitely watch.
  10. Pretty unique match choices in there - especially that UK title match with the Rock from late '98.
  11. Mookie - what do you think happens with their Commercial DVD release strategy? They definitely are not leaving that business (although blu-ray releases in North America look to be very limited in 2014) so do you think it's something like a 6-9 month lag on those making their way to the Network?
  12. I always thought from a TV production standpoint Bischoff was at least moderately talented.
  13. Regarding a Bruno/Larry DVD set, it should be noted that their rivalry didn't make the Top 25 Rivalries in Wrestling History set that came out last year. Maybe that had to do with Bruno's relationship with them, I don't know.
  14. Pretty excited about this - Place to Be Nation is thrilled to welcome the Wrestling Culture Podcast to the PTBN family. We're working on an official spiffy logo but didn't want to hold off sharing this news. http://placetobenation.com/wrestling-culture We've got the latest episode up as well as a number of personally-selected episodes by Dylan and Dave!
  15. Battleship Johnson aka Bullwhip Johnson aka Danny "Bull" Johnson apparently wrestled until 1998 in different Canadian provinces. I'll let Kelly share his work. Montour on the other hand? This is the only documented match for Troy. Battleship Johnson is an awesome name.
  16. Fun note: the guy on the far right of this picture (pink shirt) saw when we posted this on Graham's facebook page and noted that he was in the picture! Crazy! I wonder if it was his Print Shop program?

What was the Wyatt's story when they let Kane go? I know they had one the first time they took Bryan (left him in a parking lot)
  18. Wanted to bump this because I'll be putting together a piece each month on the results as Justin and Scott record the podcasts. But in addition to sharing their cards, we want to incorporate YOUR lists into the published piece as well. So it's Royal Rumble month. This will probably be published in the days before the Rumble (so three weeks-ish). Post your all-time card here and we'll include it!
  19. EDIT: Whoops - Justin beat me to it as I had the post window open when he also shared.
  20. Even my wife laughed when I read her this post
  21. I pulled this screen cap from the Top Ten list. Who did Sting piss off to have this picture used in it? Cracked me up.
  22. Jon Robinson, who used to write for ESPN's games department (and GamePro) was really good at interviewing wrestlers. He did a solid one with CM Punk that I remember. It's a shame Shoemaker's stuff like this is so generic - especially since Grantland is more conducive to NOT be fluff ESPN stuff.
  23. Two things I love about this show: - Will and Charles are always willing to change their opinion mid-argument if the other brings up a convincing point. You'll hear Will say "You know what Charles, that is a really good point". This connects with the listener because it shows the respect and friendship you have for each other. - The recommended matches piece at the end is one of my favorite podcast segments. Love that you guys always close with that (and that Will always insists you end on a positive note). I really enjoyed this episode.
  24. Man, Charles nails the HHH/HBK feud from 2004. Complete masturbatory crap.
  25. Regarding Shawn's healing - while I'm sure he credited a higher power in some ways, I know in an interview I read (or perhaps it was a DVD doc) Shawn mentioned that it was really all about stretching. They had a physical therapist work that angle and that made the pain go away to a point where he could return again and wrestle full time.
