  1. Is there any tape of the Goldust/HBK title match (dark match) after the Buried Alive PPV?
  2. Here's the official WWTP logo - complete with writing on Dusty's shirt http://placetobenation.com/wrestling-with-the-past

    Current WWE

Triple H must want his WM win back from Cena, if that is in fact the direction. It's odd how WWE diverted Bryan's attention towards HBK when it really should be Triple H he should focus on if not in a title match. The end part is why I think they are leading to Bryan-Hunter at Mania. Long term booking and all that. And Trips already got his win back. Night of Champions 2008. In the WWE's mind - Bryan hitting the flying knee on HHH inside the Cell was his "I got back at HHH for screwing me out of the title" moment. Unless they are super cooling off the Bryan/HHH stuff as they wait to reveal who is behind the Wyatts or something. That could reignite things with Bryan/HHH.

  5. Brad, just thought of something... Can you replace son of a plumber on Duaty's shirt with Wrestling With the Past but make it look natural? That would be awesome!!! That would be amazing! Let's see if we can make it happen.
  6. You'll find a link to this page in the above post but for those bookmarking - the official page for the Wrestling With the Past show (including iTunes directions and the entire archive): http://placetobenation.com/wrestling-with-the-past/ (Note: that logo is just temporary, we're dolling it up real nice)
  7. I re-watched this and his eyes weren't open but he wasn't acting like he was KO'd either. He was just kind of writhing with his eyes closed.
  8. I'll tell you what, the tag match and entire post-match angle/antics are right there for me when ranking against that singles match. The crowd really enhances both matches too. Can't recommend watching the above playlist that Kelly created enough.
  9. When did Angle work wth Roderick Strong? I need to seek that out.
  10. Sounds like an awesome video-on-demand idea.
  11. Kevin Kelly joins the PTB Podcast tonight to talk the first half of WWF 2001 as well as ROH. In the meantime, you can catch up on all his appearance through this piece. http://placetobenation.com/the-best-of-kev...e-to-be-nation/
  12. That YouTube playlist that Kelly created is fantastic. You can play along at home with your favorites from the Titans of Wrestling Podcast (cue up 80s tv commercial shtick). 4-26-80 Buddy Rose vs. Rick Martel There is literally not one wasted move or moment in this match. Some of the best mat work you'll ever see, consistent selling and psychology that is just awesome. A clinic on how to make every move count. It's a shame - seems like a chunk of the third fall is cut off, so who knows what goodness we missed there.
  13. Hey Rich - we'd love to partner with our friends at VOW. I'll get with Chad and some select members of our staff to see what we can work out.
  14. Samoa Joe vs. Jushin Liger - TNA Bound For Glory 10/23/05 Criminally short bell-to-bell (maybe 7:30 tops), but they pack a lot into this with Liger getting in some great offense. He works Joe over for a suplex but can't lift him, so Liger stomps on his foot, shifting Joe's balance and allowing for Liger to pull it off. I love stuff like that. Liger goes up top but Joe kicks him into a seated position to pull off the muscle buster followed by the coquina clutch. Liger is out cold as his arm falls the third time. Good finish, solid match.
  15. This is true, but it being a callback to a previous Orton/Cena match made me totally forget they used it with Punk/Miz/DelRio. Thinking on that really bad bump at the end, since Cena missed (and they panned in on him with his eyes open), would have been awesome if he improvised and started dragging himself to the ladder, only for Orton to (still) casually grab the titles. The ending comes off flat but I'll give the WWE credit, I was rooting for it to continue and was disappointed it was over.
  16. I also thought it was exceptional. Given the stakes, I thought the layout was fine. Both guys tried to kill each other with the goal to get an opportunity to climb. Orton worked his ass off. The table bump was a good false finish but would have been even more believable if it was 10:32pm (I hate to look at it like that but it's natural). The call back to their Breaking Point match with the handcuffs was fantastic. The fact that Orton used the ropes to send Cena into that somewhat-missed table spot was great. I think Cena slightly missing may have hurt the ending as people didn't really believe that was "IT" until Orton grabbed the belts. I thought the show was super solid. The tag match was great. Bryan/Wyatts was very good. Punk match was a step behind those and the Divas match was perfectly acceptable.
  17. Interesting since he runs the ship at MLW radio - in particular the Cornette podcast (not big on ROH).
  18. Just noted this today - Diesel's win over Bob Backlund in 1994 was announced as a No DQ, no count-out, NO SUBMISSION (kind of his thing), pinfall-only match. Geez, way to give the champ a kayfabe chance.
  19. The Backlund/Patera Texas Death Match made the Best of WWE at MSG DVD from the summer. Interesting to look around at different DVD reviews rating the match. Found the one review at WDN where he gave it **3/4. I sent him the titans of wrestling URL so he could get smartened up.
  20. Heath Slater is the Frank Williams of 2013. And he does his job with gusto too.
  21. Another great line from this episode:
  22. Look, I'm not perfect (but I lean on Chad for fact-checking at times) but who the fuck edited that piece and let that go through like that? For a site that claims to get 40 MILLION visitors a month, that's terrible.
  23. Probably my favorite part from this episode:
