I love this feud as well. My favorite Austin moment is when I believe he and Bret are doing a split screen interview and towards the end they are trying to wrap it up and he says, ".....and you can quit counting me down....." and assaults one of the TV guys. I was in college and wasn't expecting that. My favorite Bret moment was when he shoved Vince down and cursed him out after being screwed again. What made this feud work for me was that you could see the perspectives of both characters. Austin HAD to challenge Bret and do whatever it took to get to the top while Bret tried to remain a hero but not only was it costing him matches but he was losing popularity to a guy he considered a villain. Add to that the fact that the crowd was cheering Austin and you could understand and somewhat sympathize with Bret. Great all-time feud!!

I think Taker vs. Sheamus would be good.

Great job by The Rock. Harmless fun that made those guys happy. WWE are totally out of touch!

If I recall the reason Koko was amped up was because he got screwed in a previous big match. I can't remember if it was the NWA title match vs. Flair or where he got a TV broken that he won. It was something like that and the squash was more to show his frustration....but my memory is hazy so I could be off.

Looking forward to the show and looking forward to the reaction podcast even more. My favorite yearly podcast by a mile!!! Question for the group: Since WWE screwed up the Rumble 2 years in a row, what is the WORST possible scenario and how likely is WWE to do it? I just can't fathom it getting worse than last year but I feel like there's a scenario I'm missing.....

I just saw this and will praying for you. A good friend of mine was diagnosed with stage four brain and bone cancer and wasn't given more than 6 months to live. He's still alive and actually in better shape now than he was before. He's still fighting and we all want you to fight too. If you need anything (prayers, venting, etc...) let me know. Start the Hulk-up now, brother!!

Loved this show! My favorite SNME memory actually wasn't a SNME memory..... Hogan/Andre "The Rematch" was going to take place and it was all me and my friends could talk about. It happened to come on The MAIN Event on a Friday night at 8PM in prime time. I was pumped and was ready to record it but didn't have my tape set so I said I would just watch. What could POSSIBLY happen?? Hogan loses, Andre gives the belt to Ted, and I didn't record it!! But not to worry because it will replay tomorrow on SATURDAY Night's Main Event, right?? WRONG!! 2 things happened: 1) I told my friends what happened since apparently a lot of them missed the show and they didn't believe me since I had no video evidence. 2) It took me YEARS to see that match again!! I legit think it took me until college to watch that match. That's my favorite SNME memory. The ones I actually saw were good. LOVED the Tito/Perfect match and The Megapowers break up. Jesse made Vince eat crow during the Dibiase/Hercules match.

.....and as much as HHH helped put over Roman at TLC how come HE was the only one continually getting up from chair shots? I thought it would have gone a long way to have HHH beg off a bit spooked at what Reigns had become. Just picking nits.....

For me the key for Reigns getting over was his aggression. He finally took matters into his own hands. I would prefer to see Reigns vs. Brock II but I feel like the key to the setup is having Roman call out Brock. Actually have him cut a promo saying that now that he has the belt he's done playing nice and he's taking matters into his own hands for anyone that comes at him. He can start rattling off names: "Owens, Rusev, Sheamus.....BROCK......Yeah, we have some unfinished business...". I think the crowd would pop for the tease. You could get Heyman out there the following week saying his client didn't appreciate the comments Roman made and would like a public apology to which Roman could ask Heyman to deliver a message to Brock and then knock Paul out. I think the crowd would get behind Roman standing up to Lesnar. He can win and be a conqueror or lose fighting valiantly like Austin did with Bret at WM. Just my opinion though....

Yuji Nagata getting beaten in a MMA match right before the Tokyo Dome show hurt New Japan for a while.

Whenever Hulk Hogan was in WCW and a mummy (The Yeti maybe??) broke out of a block of ice. I stopped watching for a long time. The HHH Evolution Four Horesmen cosplay was another period I stopped. I really disliked that reign.

I also thought of Taker winning it, having Match 4 with Brock and winning but it being so violent WWE can't "in good conscience" ala Jack Tunney allow a rematch (Maybe at the Rumble). You could have Sting be a surprise entrant at the Rumble ( somewhere in the 25-30 range), win, and the challenge Taker for the belt at Mania saying if he doesn't win the WWE title he'll retire. I have no clue what might happen but WWE has a GOLDEN opportunity to do something big right now.....

Couldn't you also run the whole "You never beat ME for the belt" when Seth comes back? I can see your point Lee but I can't think of another situation where Reigns could win the belt currently without it feeling forced. This doesn't feel forced to me but I could be missing something.

I think they should put it on Reigns and let him gain steam defending the belt against people like Ambrose, Sheamus, Ryback, etc...Get to post Rumble and have Reigns call out Brock saying they have unfinished business. If you have him call Brock out I think it positions him better. You also have Kevin Owens but we've had a heel on top for a while. A no nonsense, dominant, ass kicking Reigns would be a good thing, IMO.

I liked Bill Simmons until he watched The Wire. Once he did that it was in EVERY column....
