  1. Great show guys!!! Anytime you guys talk about Lance Russell it cracks me up because you're dead on about him being the disapproving principal in his tone.
  2. This sounds like a good idea. I would love to be a part of it!
  3. Ross mentioned that Watts was "cantankerous" during the interview so we'll see.
  4. Good JR......bad Russo. JR seemed to really be prepared but Russo was very long winded and told the same stories he told on Austin's podcast. To JR's credit he did ask about TNA but Russo said he couldn't talk about it. JR also seemed to ask more direct and pointed questions when he could but Russo took forever to make his point. Next week......Bill Watts!!!!

    Current WWE

http://www.411mania.com/wrestling/news/334107 Apparently CM Punk sent a 22 page legal letter to WWE for royalties and character likeness in the video game.....
  6. We got Good JR again this week. A very enjoyable show. I didn't realize Hansen had that much respect for Dr. Death. There were a few times Ross tried to talk over Hansen but wisely backed down and it made for a great interview. Just like last week's show it seems like it would be better in two parts. Next week.....Vince Russo!!
  7. I always liked Paul Jones. I personally thought he was good at PLAYING a bad manager. He and Jimmy Valiant were Inspector Gadget and Dr. Claw. The ridiculous outfits put it over the top for me. The whole Jones Army was absurd and to me that was the point.
  8. For me I always thought that WWE should make his weakness his need to be the best/top guy/focus of the promotion. I thought an ideal time to capitalize on this was when C.M. Punk beat him for the title at Money in the Bank in Chicago. Rather than shoehorn him into a double title match I thought it would have been interesting to examine the fallout of Cena letting the title leave the promotion and how the locker room would react to that. I imagined Cena cutting a promo after MITB vowing to bring the title back to WWE and someone like The Miz (In my mind at the time) getting in his face reminding Cena that he blew it which would cause Cena to snap. He would show some remorse later but you would pick up hints that he doesn't like to be reminded he's a failure. In my mind that SummerSlam would have had C.M. Punk returning for one night (after holding WWE hostage with the title and driving up his appearance fee) vs. Rey Misterio (Since you're in California) and Cena vs. The Miz (Or whoever you place in that role). I still think this could be done with Daniel Bryan or Roman Reigns starting to get close to his top spot in the promotion and Cena "accidentally" cheating in a match against that person. I could see John Cena vs. Daniel Bryan with Cena winning after grabbing the tights and claiming he was just trying gain leverage but his hands got caught or something along those lines. In his mind he came out on top but it was obviously tainted. Eventually Cena could get more and more desperate as guys gained in on him. I would compare it to Steve Austin facing the Rock at WM X-7 in Texas after cutting the "I NEED to beat you Rock!" promos. WWE didn't get over how desperate Austin was to be the top star but that's where I think they can/should go with John Cena after Lesnar to test a heel run. Test the teases and if something is there discuss futher. If nothing is there or it seems to risky WWE could always say Cena's emotions got the best of him and everything goes back to normal.
  9. Ross had a great interview with Tony Schiavone today. The pace was Austin-like and it sounded like two friends catching up. Tony explained why Bobby Heenan is probably mad at him and blamed himself. They talked in broad strokes and this probably would have been better in a 2 part format to get more details but overall a good listen. Next week......STAN HANSEN!!!!
  10. Yeah, it was nothing groundbreaking but I enjoy Jim Ross being interviewed by Austin.
  11. Jim Ross was on today. Outside of the time limit rant he normally goes on this was pretty fun. Austin knows how to move things forward. Tony Schiavone will be on The Ross Report tomorrow.
  12. Great show guys!! Are you going to go back and redo some of your earlier shows? I thought I remember you mentioning that....
  13. Guilty pleasure: Face loses a loser leaves town match but comes back under a hood. I am a SUCKER for that! It cracks me up how everyone is in on the joke but the heel can't prove that his nemesis is under the mask. The more obvious who the face is the better I like it (Charlie Brown From Outta Town)!!! Guilty displeasure: I'm having trouble thinking of one at the moment. I'll come back to this.
  14. The positives did not outweigh the negatives, in my opinion. The NWO certainly helped freshen WCW up and pushed them to number 1 but there was never a payoff for the angle because the NWO was never vulnerable. Guys refusing to put over other talent in a logical manner (Starcade 97 Hogan/Sting among others) didn't help either. It just seemed the NWO would never die and when it became stale the group looked like a bunch of old guys trying to hang on to a gimmick that made them "cool" when in fact it did the opposite.
  15. New article from The Masked Man: http://grantland.com/features/grantland-dictionary-pro-wrestling-edition/
  16. Ross couldn't get out of his own way here. He seemed too excited and kept forcing points he wanted to make.
  17. I voted for Caudle but I didn't read the rules first. He still checks the boxes for me and is vastly underrated, IMO, but I don't think he was important to the promotion like Lance Russell (who would be my revised pick). Lance played his role as "put upon announcer trying to do his job and get through a show with no incidents" to a tee.
  18. Part 2 of Shamrock was posted today. This was pretty much all about MMA with a little bit of wrestling but is a great interview. Ken Shamrock alluded to some issue in Pancrease with "the Japanese guys" and Minoru Suzuki that didn't seem right. Does anyone know what he's talking about?
  19. High: Angle vs. Joe. The series was really good but the final pseudo MMA match at Lockdown I believe was great and was being praised for being innovative. TNA did a good job with the build and really seemed like an alternative to WWE. Low: Hogan/Bishoff regime. When they came I there was buzz and optimism and a chance for real change, IMO but it quickly became all about Hulk and Bishoff. They seemingly had a bunch of good ideas but really didn't want to listen to fans (Example: Nigel McGuinness) which made people ultimately quit caring altogether.
  20. Austin's show today is with Ken Shamrock. This is part 1 and it's good if you want Shamrock's background but they didn't get into wrestling or MMA much. That will be part 2. This one can be skipped.
  21. Finished parts 1 and 2 of this podcast. It was solid but nothing jumped out at me. Angle seems to be in a better place and Ross did a good job letting Angle speak. BTW I have no problems with this podcast. Jim Ross is just a long winded talker while Austin talks in short bursts. Both are good but vastly different.
  22. Overrated: Chris Jericho. I never understood all of the fuss over him. I think he's very solid and his "Chris Bockwinkle" stuff with Shawn Michaels was great but I think he's WAY overhyped. Underrated: Doom w/Teddy Long. One of my favorite tag teams that seems to fly under the radar along with a great manager that a lot of people seem to dismiss.
  23. I haven't finished the show but I think it's your best one yet. The worse the material is you're watching the funnier you guys are. Parv had me rolling with the "Shower of Shit" comment then I cracked up with the El Gigante stuff......but when Parv imitated DDP I lost it. I was driving on a highway and seriously almost hit a car when I heard "GOOD GAWD!". I'm trying to copy that soundbite and make it my phone email alert, BTW!! Chad busted me up with the Oz segment calling it the "Flair/Steamboat" of WrestleCrap! I had to stop the podcast because I couldn't safely drive. I will resume the show tomorrow when I'm not behind the wheel. This podcast can be hazardous to your health. Great job guys!!
