  1. This does make me sad, I was there for Global and the Bagwell days. The moment he debuted on RAW next to Michaels, Shamrock and Sid was maybe the highlight of his career sadly along with the Bret matches of course. Thanks to PWO I discovered his All Japan run and that amazing tag match with Sabu and Kobashi. Never considered how strong he could have been in the mid 90’s as a face for Vince, but now I can’t unsee the fantasy booking of Del coming out to slam Yokozuna instead of Lex and it’s absolutely triumphant in my mind. Looking forward to the interview at least. RIP
  2. My copy arrived and I couldn’t be happier. My favorite blog on paper with fantastic artwork. Have you considered doing tshirts? Really enjoying the podcast as well. Tony’s a really fun guest.

    AEW All Out 2020

Funny how both of the people who need to be let go immediately have the same initials.

    AEW All Out 2020

The idea of a pre-show is archaic to me anyhow

    AEW All Out 2020

My bold prediction is Cody returns and screws over MJF to ignite chapter two of their feud. Jericho goes in the drink. Matt takes a walk. Dark Order reigns supreme. Kingston or bust for the battle royal. Kenny turns on Paige and Dave gives the match 5+. Women’s match will slap and Rosa will be Thunder dos cinturones soon if not tonight. I have no love for cinematic wrestling or anything to do with Brit Baker so I’ll just say it’s gonna suck and move on. Bucks-Express will be a lot of fun and the Bucks will cheat 2 win.
  6. There is a general sense of confusion all around with the Elite storyline. The workers and announcers sell it. It makes the supposed top baby faces look like a bunch of chumps. Not sure I want wrestlers portrayed as real people tbh. I’m all for the Bucks and Kenny going heel or however this turns out, just haven’t been entertained by the build since it has felt like a chore. And now they’ve booked a 5+ star match that’s also somehow going to be the culmination of this angle? If they can pull it off I will no doubt tip my hat. So I can’t say this isn’t an angle that peaks interest.
  7. For my money, he’s the worst of all time.
  8. Man, that pizza looked so good too. Have they officially jumped the shark with all these gimmick matches?
  9. Yeah, this shit sucks but it’s not surprising since they’ve always tried to be way too smart in booking their own arcs. Who can follow any of this and why should we care?
  10. Easily my favorite AEW women’s match. Ever.
  11. Not sure I’m ready to go 60 but if they hook me they hook me
  12. Nia and Shayna should be The Know-Your-Role-Models
  13. The point is Miracle Violence Connection is an awesome name for a team and Shayna and Nia are fucking awesome.
  14. Sasha should axe the frog splash. Never appreciated her fan girl tribute much anyway.
  15. okay finally now the show has started
  16. 50/50, get that heat back, this feud must continue UGH
  17. I thought Kassius Ohno with the pinstripes
  18. Better ring gear would change everything for a lot of these guys tbh
  19. almost a Tazmission there honestly Corbin is way better than he gets credit
  20. Kill the bro! Kill the bro!
  21. This show gave me motion sickness even though there’s no boat. The every-second camera cuts are absolutely nauseating.
  22. Watched a bunch of Kamala yesterday. The Hogan series (especially the Boston match with all the blood) is a great hidden gem in 80's WWF. The Cage Match with Andre from Toronto is right up there. But what I really enjoy are the brutal mauling of guys like Invader 1 and Brody, where Kamala truly feels like a vicious savage out for blood. There's also the great No DQ match against Lawler that hardly anyone has seen or talks about since it's buried on a Rick Crane comp (didn't make it onto Will's Lawler comp). I'm a bit hesitant to dive into the comedy stuff, but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't pumped to dust off Yoko-Kamala later.
  23. There are few guys I'd rather watch than Rey Mysterio in 1996. Starts the year out having bangers with Juvi in ECW and AAA, then has another banger with Psicosis in WCW, the feud with Dean evolves his style with matwork and next level selling, and he wraps the year up with a pair of dream matches against Dragon and Liger. Most of those matches hit 4 stars for me, and there are a billion TV matches out there and they all hit. 1997 is nearly as good with a higher water mark but he's out for a few months.
  24. The future with MJF as champ and Darby, Jack, and Orange chasing is the definition of chef's kiss.
  25. Agreed. Tonight was as good as anything they've ever done. RIP Sue's van, the MJF campaign headquarters, all the blood and that amazing debate really put this one up there. This is maybe the best job a wrestling company has ever done presenting smaller talent as equals to the heavyweights? We now have two legitimate superstars under 200 lbs. in Darby and Orange with Jungle Boy edging on the midcard. What really helps is the personalities are what's pushed equally, so it's not this constant work-from-underneath philosophy. There's obviously a time and a place for that, especially with actual monsters like Cage and Archer out there. My hot take on the women's division is that keeping it all so separate from the men is death. I've never been able to watch an AEW women's segment and not feel bad for everyone involved in some way. Saving Private Ryan was the lead-out for Dynamite and I know I'm being dramatic but they're basically sending these women out on the beaches of Normandy every week. It's so weird also because tonight the only thing from NXT I would touch with a ten foot poll was Rhea and Kai. And then of course no mention of the Tag Tournament and a 3 minute segment. They need to do so much better for the women. Commentary was the smoothest yet also, in fact this is the first time I really thought about it which is a big plus.
