  1. Just popping in to rant about how stupid it is to get rid of Daniel Bryan's hair and beard as a heat angle for Wyatt instead of as a blowoff to one of his great heel runs. That's it. That's the rant.

  3. The Soundcloud account is gone, which means so are a lot of the initial episodes. Hopefully they'll all be released on Patreon or something. I really enjoy going back thru these shows as I'm watching old footage.

  5. I'm not sure we'll ever see Kenny Omega get over with the audience in the States like he was over in Japan. So much of his success seems directly related to working those islands. You watch the video package from Full Gear and it certainly seems like Japan is Kenny's muse. He almost seems lost when he works the States. If Omega ever was the best worker in the world, he was only the best in the world when he worked Japan. You'd think a guy as talented as Kenny would be able to adapt and get himself over a different way, but yeah, this ain't it. They're working it into a comedy angle, but he genuinely seems unmotivated and uninspired to be the workrate machine everyone expects.
  6. We're sort of used to it from Brock by now but Rey has been useless since those great Andrade matches at the beginning of the year
  7. we all know Lesnar's daughter could take Dom any night of the week
  8. this show is headlined by Austin and Undertaker as far as I'm concerned
  9. Cool, that's a relief. I'll shoot you a PM sometime. There's just a lot of conflicting information out there, it seems. Interested in more of your take on it.
  10. Nah, I have my own anecdotal experience and witnessed real results before my own eyes etc. I'd shoot you a PM in order to keep thing PWO, but I'm pretty sure if you're just 100% against medical marijuana and have taken your position there's probably no talking you down. There's lot of research out there support both takes, I suppose.
  11. I'm not sure they were supposed to be faking, but either way it's a double negative. If they faked it and were fine, they should have been allowed back into the match, making it 3-on-1. If they were injured, they shouldn't have been healed enough to go back out there and run interference.
  12. I guess he won't be on at all tonight
  13. I'm really just speaking up because I genuinely dig the guy's work. Respect all opinions on here, but clearly no one else was coming to his defense so I chose to do that while I'm waiting for my delivery food. Of course now I'M the vocal minority and perhaps this is all a hall of mirrors.
  14. If the internet weren't a gigantic trashcan of negativity I might feel differently.
  15. To me, the anti Mauro crowd is just Cornette complaining about AEW ad nauseam. We get it!
  16. Nope, didn't know any of that. Those treatments aren't nearly as successful as you're suggesting and the research is still out there on marijuana.
  17. It all feeds the same hate machine basically. This anti Mauro movement won’t stop til he’s out of a job, which would only happen if he gets himself pulled into a Cornette situation. Highly unlikely. He’s the voice of NXT for life. Get over it. I watch NXT every week and know nothing about his mental health issues. I just assume everyone has them at this point. There’s no “clear and obvious treatment” for this, so not sure where that kind of judgement comes from tbh. Every day is a struggle for most people on some level. Deleting Twitter seems like a healthy option, especially if there’s nothing but hateful trolls coming at you.
  18. Those are all things that his producers would change if they felt they needed to be changed, no? I see a lot of those complaints too, and again, it's just a very vocal minority. Ratings are good, people are into the product and Mauro is the voice of it.
  19. Aside from the incredibly stupid concept and the lack of faith that this company can do anything right, tonight has the potential to be a really entertaining show. Ronda Rousey could return, although that seems like more of a Royal Rumble moment. They could pull the plug and turn Rollins heel again, although turning on his brand seems like pretty weak motivation. Rey Rey could topple Lesnar. With Owens back in NXT, that most likely will free up a spot for Raw which could be a nice surprise moment. We could see Daniel Bryan miracle worker actually get something good out of Wyatt. -or- Rey is squashed in <30 seconds, Bryan-Wyatt is just an angle, we're subjected to 2 60+ minute elimination matches featuring the returns of Triple H and Shane McMahon
  20. yeah "Messiah of the Backbreaker" is just ignorant misuse of the word, almost anything else would be better "Cerebral Assassin" doesn't make any logical sense either. "The Beast Incarnate" is probably my favorite. "Lunatic Fringe" is still the worst.
  21. Even though it's over on Twitter and seemingly everywhere, I can't help but feel the anti-Mauro crowd, that all of ya'll are a very very vocal minority. He's the best commentator in 20 years. Respected throughout the industry. Out there essentially going for broke with his own Monsoon-isms. You can choose to cringe at basically anything today. Which is fitting since wrestling is ALL suspension of disbelief to begin with. His enthusiasm shines too bright sometimes, but you can tell it's a sincere appreciation of the product. And he gets it all over. But sure, by all means support the movement to bully someone off Twitter and out of your life just because you personally don't dig what they're doing even if they're great at it. Really wish I could opt out of this cancel culture existence. The NWA Anarchy WarGames is amazing, of course.
  22. Everything Cornette said in his explanation seemed reasonable enough and I'm a little less dejected than I was when the whole thing was going down. If anything, it all just serves to make me loathe where we are as a culture even more. It's been said but this was always an untenable situation for NWA for many reasons. The backlash from some of the AEW audience is, to me, just another sign of the times. I'm a huge fan, going to Dynamite on Wed, and admittedly Cornette is beyond harsh with some of his criticism, but I'm able to see that for exactly what it is: the opinions of a respected wrestling performer and critic. His opinions do not threaten my fandom in any way. It's like when Roger Ebert shat on Wet Hot American Summer in his zero star review. I've probably never laughed more or harder than I did at that film and Ebert didn't get it. Did that change my opinion of the film or the critic. Not in the least. But we're through the looking glass in every aspect of society at the moment and I fear there will never ever be "pro wrestling only" again. Anyway, Cornett'es stable in AEW should be Murdoch, Manders, and the Briscoes.
  23. Nice, I was there too. I actually pop up on camera during this match as Spike and D-Von walk towards the balcony spot, wearing a red NC hat nonetheless. Goes without saying, but '98 was a way better show yet both events were somehow equally fun.
  24. Dang, I know I’m off my rocker here but I guess I loved that. They can’t do blood so they use tables to make up for it. It is what it is, I guess. I generally enjoy the WWE version of these and this was no exception. Crowd loved it. I knew Owens was coming but they nailed it and it was a dope moment. The whole match before Cole came in was booked perfectly. It got real lame and clunky with all the tables but the payoff was worth it.
  25. it's a knee slapper that never gets old
